Daddy Always Gets Jealous

Chapter 118: 118 Are you so afraid of being misunderstood?_1

She inserted her hands into her hair, ruffled it, walked to the balcony, and opened the window. A breeze blew into her face; she closed her eyes, trying hard to chase away the messy images in her mind.

...

After an unknown amount of time had passed, Huo Jinnan, wearing a bathrobe, stepped out of the bathroom and stood there, drying his hair.

Che Huan caught a glimpse of him and quickly averted her gaze.

Huo Jinnan walked over and sat down beside Che Huan.

Che Huan automatically moved away from him.

Huo Jinnan glanced sidelong at Che Huan, ”Come here.”

Che Huan stayed put.

Just as Huo Jinnan had grasped Che Huan’s wrist, a knock sounded at the door. He picked up his wristwatch that was lying aside and took a look, ”Go open the door.”

Che Huan frowned.

Huo Jinnan let go, ”It’s Huo Bei.”

...

Che Huan bit her lip, thinking even if it was Huo Bei, it wouldn’t be good for her to go open the door now, right? What would Huo Bei think if he saw her like this!

Huo Jinnan watched Che Huan for a while, then walked to the door and pulled it open.

Just as Che Huan had stood up to hide, it was already too late.

Huo Bei, carrying several clothing bags, entered and saw Che Huan, giving her a longer look.

Receiving Huo Bei’s focused attention made Che Huan’s face turn red in an instant.

Coming back to his senses and catching a glimpse of Huo Jinnan in his bathrobe, Huo Bei seemed to understand and quickly put down the bags, ”I’ll... Mister, I’ll head out first.”

”Bang!”

Huo Bei left in such a hurry that he bumped his head against the door frame.

”Pfft~”

This version of Huo Bei was kind of cute, and Che Huan couldn’t help but let out a laugh, suddenly feeling less embarrassed.

Huo Bei’s face turned slightly red as he lowered his head and left, closing the door behind him.

Che Huan looked again at the instigator standing there, acting as if he had nothing to do with what happened, and suddenly felt a bit of sympathy for Huo Bei. With a master like Huo Jinnan, was it fortune or misfortune?

Huo Jinnan pulled Che Huan over in a grip and pressed her against the door, ”So afraid of being misunderstood?”

Che Huan’s back was pressed tightly against the door. Because their bodies were so close, she could feel his strength and her breathing instantly became tense, ”You... you’re Jizhou’s uncle!”

Huo Jinnan stared at Che Huan, gazing intensely at her.

Che Huan became flustered, ”I don’t want to have anything to do with the world or the people related to Gu Jizhou anymore!”

The color in Huo Jinnan’s eyes turned colder, and he threw the towel away, walked over to the bed, and began changing his clothes.

Che Huan saw that he had no intention of avoiding her and turned her head to the side.

After a while, suddenly hearing a ”Come here,” she stood still without moving.

Huo Jinnan looked down at the clothing bags, picked up a pair of trousers, and handed them to Che Huan.

Che Huan saw them, furrowed her brows. Was he asking her to help him dress?

Che Huan didn’t want to move. Hesitating for a few seconds, she still picked up the belt from the bed and handed it to Huo Jinnan.

Huo Jinnan took it, threaded the belt through the loops, and fastened it in front of his waist. He looked down for a second, then picked up a white shirt on one side, glanced at the tag, tore it off with his hand, and put it on.

Standing nearby, Che Huan couldn’t help but curse under her breath. Damn it, with such strength, did he still need her help?

It was obvious; he did it on purpose!

Huo Jinnan took a tie from one side, ”Can you do it?”

Che Huan turned her face away, ”No.”

She wouldn’t even if it killed her!

Che Huan stood there, indifferent.

Huo Jinnan said in a low voice, ”Cut off the tag.”

Is that so?

With all his strength, couldn’t he tear it off himself?

Che Huan, ”Do you have scissors?”

”No,” Huo Jinnan sat on the bed, looking at Che Huan.

How can one cut without scissors?

Che Huan stared for a moment, then tugged at the tag, which was quite sturdy. Lowering her head, she bit through the tag string with her teeth and handed it to Huo Jinnan.

Huo Jinnan took it, stood there, and pulled the trousers up over his impressive long legs, ”Belt.”
