5: Military drones—stealth and silence”buddy, where are you from? Your accent is so thick.”

Fuji was a bit bewildered by the sudden address, thinking Liu Yan had mispronounced ’Ji’ as ’chicken’.

”Next time for sure, but I won’t be teaming up this time. I’ll go in and look around by myself first.” After teasing Fuji, Liu Yan didn’t plan to waste any more time.

Waving goodbye, Liu Yan walked straight to the transfer portal for Dam Zero.

”Excuse me, thanks.”

Liu Yan squeezed past the crowd that was blocking the entrance, discussing strategies and preparing to enter.

Since every area in the Third District is extremely dangerous, small teams usually formulate strict tactics before entering.

Someone like Liu Yan, going in alone and empty-handed, was almost unheard of.

Without another word, Liu Yan stepped into the portal for Dam Zero.

After he entered the portal, a white drone followed closely behind him, entering Dam Zero as well.

The next second, Liu Yan had already appeared inside a familiar helicopter.

”We are about to land. Remember the action plan:”

”Engage, search, get out once it’s done.”

Familiar dialogue came from inside the helicopter. The next second, a rope dropped, and Liu Yan safely landed by following the rope.

Upon landing, Liu Yan subconsciously looked around, his eyes narrowing slightly, locking onto a spot behind him.

The almost completely transparent drone still couldn’t escape Liu Yan’s terrifying vision.

”Is this... a military drone?”

Liu Yan squinted carefully at the distorted outline in front of him, matching it with the military drone from the game in his memory.

”So, the ’openness’ is actually achieved by military drones following and livestreaming?”

In the game, military drones were just ordinary big red items, valued at around 500,000.

Apparently, in this world, just like the resuscitation ventilator, they were also endowed with some special effect.

If it weren’t for his terrifying dynamic vision, which allowed him to detect the slight distortion in the air,

Liu Yan would never have discovered that a drone was following him, recording his every move.

And it made no buzzing sound throughout.

”Interesting.”

A excited smile appeared on Liu Yan’s face.

Looking at it this way, perhaps other big red items also had various special effects.

This world was much more interesting than he had imagined.

Liu Yan no longer paid attention to the drone’s presence and began to eagerly look around.

He wanted to understand and experience this world as quickly as possible.

Liu Yan didn’t know how strongly his recent actions had impacted the people watching the livestream in the classroom!

Inside the classroom,

At this moment, Liu Yan’s classmates and Teacher Qi were staring dumbfounded at Liu Yan through the electronic screen behind the blackboard.

A student rubbed his eyes, swallowed, and then said incredulously:

”Teacher... did... did I just see wrong? Is he... looking at us?”

”It should be a coincidence...” Not only the students, but even Teacher Qi’s forehead was covered in a cold sweat.

It was no wonder for such a reaction from everyone.

After the drone was activated, it made no sound, and its stealth was so good that even high-speed cameras struggled to capture it.

Such a device could do far too many things.

As a result, the existence of military drones had been banned by The Authorities for private ownership.

Once someone was found carrying one out, it would be immediately acquired by the military at the entrance.

However, such a bug-level item...

Was discovered by Liu Yan with his naked eyes the moment he entered the Third District?

What a joke!

...Dam Zero

Liu Yan’s spawn point for this round was the Tourist Center on the edge.

”The map scale is much larger than in the game,” Liu Yan muttered to himself.

He wasn’t in a hurry to enter the Tourist Center to check for room card spawn points and high-tier loot like safes.

In fact, Liu Yan never had the habit of looting in games before; he relied entirely on killing.

And this time, he was here to explore, so he didn’t even bring a backpack.

Even if he looted items, he couldn’t take them out, so he might as well explore first.

”Your coffin is ready!”

Bang, bang — — — —!!

The voice of an Asala Guard Soldier and gunshots rang out almost simultaneously!

Before Liu Yan could react, two bullets struck his thigh and shoulder respectively.

Liu Yan’s pupils instantly contracted. Gritting his teeth, he endured the gunshot wound in his thigh and ducked behind a wall.

”Did the bots in this world... also get a stealth buff?”

From the moment he heard the Asala Guard Soldier’s voice to getting shot, only 0.1 seconds passed.

At that speed, no human could possibly react.

It seemed the difficulty of the Third District was indeed much higher compared to the game he used to play.

Liu Yan thought to himself while tearing a strip of cloth from his sleeve and tightly wrapping it around the wound on his thigh.

The car first aid kit also came in handy at this moment.

However, this kind of first aid kit could only support Liu Yan for one more use at most.

He unhesitatingly put the 2,000 yuan painkiller into his mouth.

The pain from his leg was real. He had been able to maintain movement purely by survival instinct.

Even knowing that death here wasn’t real death, instinct was unavoidable.

After treating his wound, Liu Yan was able to move again.

”First, I’ll loot some gear from a bot.”

Although he hadn’t had time to look, based on the sound and bullet direction, Liu Yan had already pinpointed the exact location of the Asala Guard Soldier.

Liu Yan, without any weapons in his hands, prepared to circle around the wall to the other side.

On the way, Liu Yan casually picked up a sharp-edged stone from the ground.

Liu Yan’s plan was very simple.

Once he climbed onto the wall, he would throw the stone at the Asala Soldier, then leap down, and while the soldier was stunned from being hit by the stone, he would grab his weapon and complete the kill.

At this moment, Liu Yan and the Asala Guard Soldier were only separated by a wall.

Liu Yan’s ears twitched, reconfirming the soldier’s exact position to ensure nothing went wrong.

After preparing, Liu Yan stepped back a few paces, took a running start, and instantly pushed off the wall, leaping up.

”What is he doing?” A student was confused by Liu Yan’s actions on the screen.

”Is he a monkey? He just climbed that high wall directly?”

Liu Yan, despite his leg injury, cleanly and quickly made it onto the wall.

Although it wasn’t his original body, a wall of this height was not difficult for a motion-capture actor with full coordination.

After Liu Yan got onto the wall, he didn’t even need to visually search for the target’s position before accurately throwing the stone.

Bang — — —

The stone accurately hit the Asala Soldier.

However... the imagined scene did not occur.

Liu Yan didn’t rush to jump off the wall to grab the weapon. Instead, he was completely dumbfounded, staring directly at the Asala Soldier.

”Holy... crap...”

The Asala Guard Soldiers in this world were completely different from the scrawny figures in the game.

The two-meter-tall Asala Guard Soldier made the gun in his hand look like a toy in comparison.

The stone had accurately hit his face, but it only caused minor superficial injuries.

”Come on! Let’s spar!”

The familiar line rang out, and before Liu Yan could even see the gun being raised, a bullet accurately landed between his eyebrows.

The classic instant snap-shot by bots in the game was perfectly replicated at this moment.
