I Can Devour Monsters' SSS Talents

Lian looked at the Sphere of Witness, so they had decided to use their biggest and only remaining trump card?

But this was not bad either, at least this way he could see what abilities that Sphere had.

An old man in a white robe raised both hands and his voice was lost among the bells, but the memory kept it clear.

”Activate White Noon!”

Light came and for a moment the very concept of shadow was removed from the city, there was no front or back, no darkness remained between the buildings and the entire world became white.

The young Vorhelm could not see anything inside the memory, he could only feel the pressure.

A power so great that the city itself started to melt in response, this was a counterattack that could even end with the destruction of the city itself

It was as if the followers of Light had become so crazy to kill this demon that they were willing to do anything.

The sea below the city started boiling within a few seconds and huge amounts of steam rose into the sky, hundreds of people who did not have time to leave disappeared in that same Light.

The towers bent from the heat, parts of the ground turned into a shiny material and, White Noon, which came from the Sphere of Witness, was destroying the city itself.

And all of this was for one goal, the Demon Of Eclipse.

For a few moments, nothing could be seen of the creature, everything was completely white, even the remaining followers of Light thought they had succeeded.

But then a shadow moved inside that Light, it slowly took one step and the Demon Of Eclipse came out of White Noon.

Part of the outer layer of its Essence had burned, black drops were separating from its body, but there was no deep wound and no missing body part could be seen.

But its attention had been caught, the creature looked at the collapsing city and then at the Sphere of Witness.

Its calm voice once again fell over the city.

”So this was all the Light you gathered to fight me?”

Down below, houses were burning, the sea no longer existed, humans were dying in the Light they themselves had released.

The Demon Of Eclipse stayed silent for a few moments.

”It was beautiful....for something that is going to die.” Then it looked at the sky with a mocking look, as if it was looking at something beyond that sky.

Lian only stayed silent, he had felt the power of the Sphere of Witness and the thing that White Noon came from.

That thing could turn him into ashes in an instant, he doubted that even an Overlord would have a chance against it and this showed that the Light Religion, before their world became a ruin, had been a powerful civilization.

But all of this, in the eyes of the Demon Of Eclipse, was no different from a joke.

The memory did not end and this time it continued, the whiteness slowly left the city.

And what remained no longer looked like the same city from a few minutes ago.

The sea had turned into steam and a large part of its bottom had melted.

The buildings were even more abandoned than before, the bodies of humans had remained still inside the melted material.

The towers were falling one after another, but above all that destruction, the Demon Of Eclipse was still standing.

The creature looked at the city, almost without any emotion, as if something under its feet was so unimportant that even its destruction was not worth feeling anything about.

Its gaze stopped on the shrine, more exactly, on the Sphere of Witness.

”If your Divine is still watching you... tell him that Eclipse extinguished his Light.”

And then it turned around, that was all, the demon itself decided to leave.

The city of Silent Light had used everything it had against it.

And the result? The creature had only lost interest.

For a moment, Lian did not even know which part of this terrifying truth was worse.

But right before the end of the memory, he saw something else.

Some of the black Essence that White Noon had separated from the surface of the Demon Of Eclipse’s body was pulled toward the Sphere of Witness.

The rings trapped it inside themselves, but not all of the Essence was captured, part of it fell down and went directly into the remains of the sea that had evaporated.

He saw himself inside the shrine again, this time for real, his breathing was heavier and cold sweat covered his forehead.

But the main pain was almost over, the formation of the Core was almost complete and finally a black Sphere took shape..

Click.

[Compression process completed.]

[First Monster Core has been formed.]

[Eclipse Core.]

[Monster Cores: 1.]

Lian did nothing for a few seconds, he only felt it, the small black Core had slowly settled into place.

This was the first time that the empty space actually had something inside it, but along with the satisfaction of forming his first Core, he also felt something else.

There was still a lot of empty space.

He already knew that monsters could have a considerable number of Cores and with every evolution, the number of their Cores increased.

But knowing it as a rule was different from experiencing it directly.

He also realized that he could have many Cores, but there was also a difference, his Cores were special, they were not like the Cores of other monsters.

[Eclipse Core.]

[Origin: Scattered Essence of a Demon-ranked being.]

[Special Energy Type: Eclipse Essence.]

[Innate Effect: Energy and Element Erosion.]

[Eclipse Energy can erode structures formed from Mana, Elements, and other forms of energy at the point of contact.]

Lian read the next lines.

[The Core can store a limited amount of Eclipse Energy, with evolution, the amount will increase.]

For a moment, he closed his fingers and called a very small amount of the Core’s energy.

A black line appeared on the tip of his finger and at the same time, he created a small layer with Mana.

When it touched the very small layer of Mana that he had created himself, the structure became dark at the point of contact, then it started collapsing.

The same thing he had seen in the memory, the death of the structure.

The young Vorhelm cut off the black line and a very faint smile appeared on his face, this energy was not going to only make his attacks bigger, its value was much greater than that.

But a question came to him, did this mean he could obtain a Core based on other demons?

At the same time, the last black vein separated from the surface of the Sphere of Witness.

Kain had thrown almost all of his body weight onto the platform, the color of his face had become a little pale, the amount of Mana he had used to keep the structure stable was not small.

His only happiness was that he saw Lian was safe and he was able to let out a sigh of relief.

But when the last black line came out, the Sphere changed and became completely white.

Pure Light flowed across its entire surface and the twelve rings around it stopped ...then slowly moved away from each other.

The Sphere started becoming smaller, at first so slowly that it was hard to notice, and then it became faster.

Several hundred meters.

One hundred meters.

Fifty.

Twenty.

The Light around it was also pulled toward the center along with it, the terraces of the shrine became a little darker for the first time.

Until finally, a white Sphere about thirty centimeters in size remained floating in the air in front of Kain.

Its Light was no longer blinding but warm and calm, but even at that size, its presence felt much heavier than an ordinary treasure.

Information appeared in front of Kain.

[Sphere of Witness]

[Rank: Ancient.]

[Warning, only the treasure itself can choose its owner.]

[Signature of the Tear of Witness identified.]

[Child of Light identified.]

[Establish bond?]

Kain stayed silent for longer than Lian expected, his gaze moved between the words and the Sphere.

This time he did not joke, perhaps even he understood how unusual the thing in front of him was.

”If I reject it now, I’ll probably never forgive myself for the rest of my life.” He then said quietly.

But on the other hand, he did not know what responsibility he would have if he accepted it, or what things he would have to face in the future.

Lian understood his worries, but said nothing, this was completely his own decision.

Kain smiled.

”At least I don’t mind challenges and trouble.”

[Yes.]

The Light of the Sphere became stronger for a moment, a thin strand of it entered his chest, and his body trembled slightly.

A few seconds later, the Sphere itself became smaller and turned into a point of Light that entered his body.

[Bond completed.]

[The Sphere of Witness can be stored in the soul and summoned when needed.]
