Myriad Heavens: Rise of the Rune God

Chapter 34: Chapter 34: Void Severance - Primordial Grade Weapon Soul

Information flooded into his mind—not through words, but through direct knowledge transfer:

Void Severance - Primordial Grade Weapon Soul

Base Abilities:

Cut Anything: Blade ignores physical defenses below Rule level. Can cut through techniques, formations, even conceptual barriers.

Spatial Severance: Every slash creates dimensional cuts. Can sever space itself.

Void Step: Wielder can move through severed space, effectively teleporting short distances during combat.

Damage Reflection: Attacks that hit the blade are ”cut apart” and returned to sender.

Primordial Grade Abilities (Newly Unlocked):

Spatial Switch: The katana and wielder can instantly swap positions across any distance within spiritual sense range. Can be used mid-combat to teleport behind enemies or escape fatal strikes. The blade can also switch positions with its own afterimages or projections.

Phantom Projection: The katana can create miniature projections of itself—inferior copies that contain 30% of the original’s power. Can deploy up to 50 projections simultaneously for overwhelming assault tactics. Projections can be remotely controlled or set to autonomous attack patterns.

Dimensional Edge Accumulation: Passively absorbs spatial energy from the environment and from every spatial technique it encounters. The absorbed energy accumulates in the blade’s core and can be released in a single devastating ”Void Annihilation Slash” that grows stronger the longer it charges. Current maximum charge: one year of accumulation.

Qi Nexus System: The katana contains an internal storage dimension that can absorb, refine, and store qi. Capacity: equivalent to 10 Red Giant realm cultivators’ full reserves. Can feed refined qi back to the wielder during combat, provide emergency healing, or absorb energy from slain enemies to strengthen both blade and wielder. Acts as a secondary cultivation system.

Void Severance Domain: The katana can manifest its own domain independent of the wielder—a 10-kilometer sphere where all cutting Laws are amplified by 1000% and the concept of ”defense” is weakened by 90%. Within this domain, the blade can execute attacks from any point simultaneously, and space itself becomes the weapon. Can be maintained for 10 minutes before requiring 1 hour cooldown.

Adaptive Edge Evolution: The blade analyzes enemies’ defense mechanisms during combat and automatically adjusts its cutting frequency to bypass them. Effectiveness increases with prolonged engagement against the same opponent type

Growth Abilities:

Evolves with wielder’s comprehension Grows stronger as wielder masters Cutting Law, Sword Law, Severance Law Can eventually develop true consciousness and communicate verbally

Ultimate potential: Chaos Grade (if wielder reaches Universal realm)

Special Trait - Soul Bound:

Cannot be stolen, lost, or destroyed.

Returns to wielder’s soul if separated.

Only wielder can use its abilities.

Will die with wielder or pass to designated inheritor.

The information was staggering. A Primordial Grade weapon soul was already incredibly rare—only seven had been recorded in Telstra’s history. But one with this many abilities, with this much growth potential...

This is worth more than most super galaxy cluster, Runar realized. If other cultivators knew I had this, they’d start wars trying to take it.

Good thing it was soul-bound and hidden inside his spiritual sea.

The awakening process continued. The black-purple flames intensified, then began withdrawing, flowing back into Runar’s body.

His soul absorbed the weapon’s essence completely. The katana remained in his spiritual sea, floating serenely, no longer dormant but fully integrated with his existence.

He could summon it at will now. Just a thought would materialize the blade in his hand—either as a physical weapon or as a spiritual projection.

Test, Runar thought.

The Void Severance Katana appeared in his right hand.

It was exactly as he’d seen it in his spiritual sea—void-black blade, purple-white edge, runic inscriptions glowing softly. It felt weightless, perfectly balanced, like it had been custom-made for his exact grip and fighting style.

He swung it experimentally.

The air didn’t just part—it was severed. Space itself split along the blade’s path, creating an atomic-like dimensional rift line that slowly healed over the next few seconds.

Incredible.

He dismissed the weapon. It vanished, returning to his spiritual sea instantly.

The awakening was complete.

Runar sat in meditation, allowing his spiritual sea to settle after the dramatic awakening.

His soul felt different now. Stronger, sharper, more defined. The weapon soul’s integration had refined his spiritual essence even further, adding another layer of power to his already absurd foundation.

Soul strength definitely increased, he analyzed. If I had to estimate... I’m at peak early Supernova Rebirth realm in terms of pure soul power now.

For someone still in Meteor Forging realm, that’s absolutely ridiculous.

But before he could feel satisfied, another series of realizations struck him—memories from the recent demon battles surfacing with new clarity.

Rule Comprehension Insights.

During combat with the Red Giant demons, Runar had sensed something beyond Laws.

When the spatial demon had activated its Space Lock, when the axe-wielder had infused Fire Rule into its attack, when he’d clashed against that final demon’s domain—he’d felt something fundamentally different from Law-level techniques.

Rules.

Not just the effects—the actual underlying authority. The way Space Rule bent reality to the demon’s will, making spatial manipulation an absolute command rather than a request. How Fire Rule turned combustion into inevitability rather than probability.

That’s what I’ve been missing, Runar realized, analyzing those brief moments of exposure. Laws are like understanding how a program’s functions work. Rules are like understanding the compiler that creates those functions in the first place.

During the 149 years in the Comprehension Space, he’d pushed his Space Law to 100% and tried to break through to Space Rule. He’d failed despite perfect comprehension because something was missing.

Now he understood what: experience.

I can’t reach Rule comprehension through meditation alone, he thought. I need to witness Rules in action. Feel them pressing against me. Clash against Rule-level authority. Struggle under their weight. Only then can I understand how to transcend from Law to Rule.

The demon battles had given him that precious experience. He could sense the general direction now—how his 184 mastered Laws might eventually converge, compress, and transcend into Rule comprehension.

But it was just inspiration. Just a glimpse of the path forward. Not the destination itself.

I need more exposure, Runar concluded. Fight more Rule-level opponents. Study more high-realm techniques. Maybe even observe the Eight Supremes if I get the chance—Universal realm cultivators who’ve mastered multiple Rules.

Every clash with Rule-level authority gives me data. Every observation provides insights. Eventually, those insights will crystallize into genuine Rule comprehension.

But that was a long-term goal. For now, he had a more immediate problem.

As he examined his overall cultivation status, a serious issue became apparent.

The Imbalance Problem

His development was severely unbalanced:

Soul Strength: Early Supernova Rebirth realm Body Strength: Peak Red Giant realm (after all the Law tempering) Qi Cultivation: Meteor Forging Stage 3333/3333

The disparity was massive. His soul had advanced far beyond his body, which had advanced far beyond his actual cultivation realm.

This is dangerous, Runar realized with growing concern. If I try to break through to Satellite Orbit like this, the imbalance might damage my foundation. Or cause cultivation deviation. Or worse—trigger a backlash that could cripple me.

Cultivation wasn’t just about advancing one aspect. It was about harmony—body, qi, and soul working together in perfect balance.

The Eternal Nexus Ascension had been specifically designed for that purpose. Its three-in-one structure unified body, qi, and soul cultivation from the very beginning, ensuring they advanced together.

But his recent experiences had thrown that balance completely out of alignment:

The 184 Laws constantly tempering his body through background processes.

The Comprehension Space refining his soul through 149 years of enlightenment.

The weapon soul awakening pushing his spiritual strength even higher.

Meanwhile, his actual qi cultivation had been neglected—stuck at Meteor Forging 3333/3333 with no advancement since.

I can’t progress until I fix this, Runar thought grimly. No more breakthroughs. No more advancement. First, I need to balance everything perfectly.

Fortunately, his cultivation technique could handle this exact situation. The Eternal Nexus Ascension wasn’t just designed to advance the three aspects together—it was also designed to equalize and harmonize disparate elements when they fell out of sync.

Time to rebalance everything.
