Rebirth: Splendid Marriage in the 80s

Chapter 2446: Chapter 2382: A Man Who Does as He Pleases

”Catch it and roast it, with the weather like this, chilled in the cold spring water, it surely won’t spoil easily. So, I wanted to catch it no matter what, but this fish was very slippery, I played a game of wits with it for two days, but still couldn’t catch it.”

Upon hearing this, Chiang Xiao casually chimed in, ”That sounds like the fish has become spirited. Isn’t it a bit cruel to eat such a clever fish that outsmarted you for two days?”

Unexpectedly, Zhu Shun paused for a moment, then clapped his hands and said, ”What sister-in-law says makes sense! For this fish to grow so big in this lake, it must have spiritual energy! And these past two days, thanks to its company, otherwise I’d have been bored to death! So, it counts as my friend, how could I eat a friend?”

With that, he immediately went to pick up the fish still flopping on the sandy ground, swiftly ran towards the lake, and without hesitation, released the fish into the water.

”Friend! It was my mistake to even think about eating you! Luckily, I was awakened by others and realized my folly in time! Please forgive me!”

The four of them, including Chiang Xiao, stared at him, dumbstruck.

What just happened?

They truly hadn’t expected, just because of Chiang Xiao’s words, Zhu Shun would release the fish!

Not to mention, who complained about spending two days of effort, who said it was hard to lure that fish into the crevice.

Moreover, it took the combined effort of three of them to get the fish out.

And he just released it based on mere words.

”Brother Xinian, is Brother Shun always like this?” Chiang Xiao asked Meng Xinian.

So capricious.

Meng Xinian shook his head, ”Actually, I’ve only met him a few times. The longest time was just three days together. After he left the special operations team, I haven’t seen him anymore. He used to be carefree, but not as casual as now.”

”Did he leave the special operations team for a reason?”

Meng Xinian nodded, ”I’ll tell you all when we get back, but don’t mention it in front of him.”

It seems Zhu Shun left the special operations team for a reason, and it’s something not to be brought up.

Zhu Shun ran back from the lakeside, looked at them, and then at the food on the iron grill, swallowed, and said, ”This is bad. I originally planned to use half the fish to thank you for your help and use the other half to exchange for something else to eat with you. Now there’s no fish, does this mean I can’t eat your food and owe you all a favor?”

Meng Xinian glanced at him, ”Eat, eat, stop with the nonsense.”

”Hahaha, I knew you’d be the most generous! You guys don’t have any objections, right?” Zhu Shun looked at Chiang Xiao and the others.

Naturally, all three shook their heads.

This time, they brought a lot of stuff; when buying, they thought everything seemed fine, thinking a bit of everything was best, but only realized after buying, they really bought too much.

The five of them gathered around the grill, enthusiastically cooking food.

Wang Yi asked Zhu Shun curiously, ”Brother Shun, you plan to go boating here for a few days without bringing any food?”

”Didn’t bring any, thinking there are fish here, so I just brought a few boxes of matches and a small packet of salt. What else would I need?”

As he said that, he suddenly slapped his forehead and laughed, ”Wait, wait, there’s really something good, I almost forgot! Originally planned to enjoy it alone on the boat at night, but now that you’re here, let’s all have a toast!”
