Rebirth: Splendid Marriage in the 80s

Chapter 2417: Chapter 2353: So Frank

Lu Shuangshuang nodded, ”Of course, I won’t blame her, no matter what she says.”

It took her a long time to convince herself to accept the fact that Sixth Young Master already had an eighteen-year-old daughter.

But meeting him again, she had never seen him laugh so freely and joyfully as he did just now.

These past days, he had been gentlemanly, poised, with a gentle smile always hanging on his face. However, Lu Shuangshuang felt that this version of Sixth Young Master had a distant feeling, seemingly approachable yet actually hard to get close to.

Just now, his words were gentle, his laughter carefree and open — that was him without the sense of detachment.

So she immediately guessed that he was on the phone with his daughter.

Lu Shuangshuang felt quite unsettled in her heart.

If he didn’t love that woman dearly, how could he be so fond of the daughter she bore?

This seemed impossible to her.

Therefore, even though Sixth Young Master said he only had a brief encounter with that woman, she found it hard to believe.

She sat down at the table and picked up the receiver.

”Is this Xiao Xiao? Hello, my name is Lu Shuangshuang, I’m your dad’s...” She glanced at Ah Liu and continued, ”...friend.”

Ah Liu looked at her.

Lu Shuangshuang gave him a gentle smile, appearing very graceful and considerate.

With his daughter, it was her first contact, so it was better not to use terms like ”fiancée” or ”childhood sweetheart”, to avoid any possible resentment or dislike from the other party.

Chiang Xiao heard Lu Shuangshuang’s voice and had to admit, it sounded extremely gentle, unhurried, without any sense of pressure, likely a woman who seemed very easy to get along with.

”Hello, Miss Lu, I am Jiang Xiao.”

Lu Shuangshuang said, ”Xiao Xiao, I’m sorry I never knew about you before, letting you feel wronged. If I had known Xiao Sixth has such a daughter, I would have definitely brought you to D State. I grew up with your dad, you can call me Aunt Shuang.”

Alright, calling her aunt does seem reasonable? Quite normal?

”Miss Lu, we haven’t met yet, and my personality might be a bit unlikeable, so maybe it’s better after we meet, and if I find you easy to get along with, then I’ll change the form of address.”

Chiang Xiao’s words left Lu Shuangshuang stunned.

Eighteen?

Shouldn’t she be innocent, lively, and vibrant?

Why does Chiang Xiao’s tone sound so calm and composed, not like a child’s?

What?

Does this mean only after meeting, and she finds it easy to get along, will she call her Aunt Shuang?

Is that what she means?

Doesn’t she feel that this attitude is somewhat rude?

Lu Shuangshuang glanced at Ah Liu again. She suddenly understood why he said that sentence just now.

Indeed, that girl speaks straightforwardly, with no sense of etiquette or intention to please adults.

She gave a gentle smile and said, ”Alright, that works too. I didn’t expect Xiao Xiao to be so unique, with such a strong mind. Seems I need to think carefully about how to make you feel I’m easy to get along with then?”

”No need, just be yourself, whatever you’re like when we meet is fine, because if it’s forced change, it won’t last long.”

Uh...

”Xiao Xiao is truly a remarkably smart and candid girl.” Lu Shuangshuang chuckled, saying with much patience, ”Alright, I’ll do as you say.”

She still has to follow her lead?

Chiang Xiao pursed her lips slightly.

Lu Shuangshuang then asked, ”Xiao Xiao should be coming to D State soon, can you tell me what you like?”
