Rebirth: Splendid Marriage in the 80s

Chapter 1360: Chapter 1361: There is a person there

The cave was not large, and one could immediately see that there was a narrow passage inside. She shone her flashlight around and didn’t see anything out of the ordinary, but for some reason, she always felt there was something inside there that gave her a bad feeling.

Even so, she had to go in.

Chiang Xiao walked inside, and as soon as she did, she felt a cold breeze blowing out from that narrow passage, making her shiver uncontrollably.

On the left side of the cave wall was a dense cluster of climbing vines. She pointed her flashlight there and suddenly noticed something amiss. The flashlight then moved back to that spot, and she involuntarily took two steps closer to it.

But just as she clearly saw what made her feel uneasy, she almost screamed out loud. Fortunately, her courage had grown a lot, and she managed to stifle the scream.

Hidden among the green vines, there was a human mouth.

In the eerie cave on a desolate mountain at night, seeing a pale, bloodless human mouth among such thick vines, how could one not feel chilled to the bone?

Chiang Xiao’s heart almost stopped.

If she were an ordinary woman, she might have already screamed and run out.

But she couldn’t run.

The mouth was not fully exposed, so she couldn’t confirm whether it was Meng Xinian’s or a stranger’s; she had to check.

Chiang Xiao clenched her teeth tightly, step by step, she approached, slowly reaching out her hand with a fruit knife, poking at the green vines.

Cutting through a vine revealed a wrist.

Gritting her teeth, she bit the knife in her mouth and grabbed the vine with one hand, pulling it vigorously.

With a swish, she tore down the whole cluster of vines, and the person behind it fell straight towards her.

In that instant, Chiang Xiao had already seen the person’s face, and her heart immediately relaxed, jumping to the side. But as he collapsed onto the ground, she subconsciously hooked him with her foot to slow his fall, preventing him from hitting the ground directly.

It was a young man, bare-chested, wearing army green trousers and a pair of army boots.

Buzz cut, slightly slender build.

The reason Chiang Xiao felt something was off outside might be because her senses were too sharp; this man was still alive, and she could hear his faint breathing in the cave.

Chiang Xiao subconsciously caught him to save him, because this was an Eastern man, who looked like one of her own.

She removed the fruit knife she was biting, gently kicked the man with the tip of her foot, ”Hey? Hey? Are you from China? Can you hear me?”

The man didn’t move.

Chiang Xiao wasn’t really sure if this man was one of her own, so she couldn’t just leave him be. She crouched down and turned the man over.

Just then, the man who seemed motionless suddenly grabbed her wrist strongly.

At the same time, his burning body temperature also transferred to her.

”I am...”

He didn’t open his eyes; his pale, peeling lips only uttered these two words, tightly gripping Chiang Xiao’s wrist.

But these two words were enough; they were in Chinese.

”Let go, I’ll save you,” she said.

It was unclear whether the man heard her or not, as he didn’t loosen his grip.

Because he grabbed her wrist, Chiang Xiao knelt beside him in the struggle, getting a bit closer.

Though the man was running a high fever, by his looks, he seemed to be a Supervisor Guard.
