Extraordinary Realm from Persuasion System

Next one?

Zhang Beixing’s disdainful tone left the several researchers in the ambulance somewhat stunned.

They had heard of Zhang Beixing’s notorious reputation, but they did not expect such a contemptuous attitude.

The researchers of the BE organization, although ultimately just high-level workmen for the BE organization, had long been given a sense of superiority by the organization, to the point where, even towards those detrimental to them, it was expected they would deal with them as formidable opponents — not dismissively like stray dogs.

Suddenly humiliated like this, the several researchers visibly flared with anger, looking at Zhang Beixing with a sense of ”one may die but not be humiliated,” but this fiercely burning flame swiftly extinguished, doused like with a huge basin of cold water, leaving only a few wisps of black smoke hidden in their hearts, and soon dissipating completely.

Because the researchers realized, when Zhang Beixing spoke earlier, he waved his hand, a gesture they thought was merely humiliating, not expecting that what was waved off was not only their pride as members of the BE organization, but also the head of the white man who had just spoken.

Following Zhang Beixing’s motion, the white man’s head inexplicably detached from his body, lightly landing on the ground, his eyes showing no particular fear, because he did not even realize what he had just said would be the last words of his life.

The white man’s head splattering to the ground not only instantly stained the ambulance floor red but also made the researchers realize what the true world was.

And that was the tall man before them, who indeed could treat them like stray dogs, no, strictly speaking, even an ordinary person wouldn’t be dealt with this easily — at least a stray dog would bite if it were desperate, whereas this man only needed to wave his hand for everything they were proud of to vanish.

In the instant this was understood, one or two of the researchers, whose composure was not so solid, began to tremble slightly, their eyes filled with fear of death as they looked at Zhang Beixing.

Even those slightly more composed tried to avert their gaze from Zhang Beixing, like ostriches, as though not looking would make him cease to exist.

Seeing the demeanor of the researchers in the ambulance, Zhang Beixing nodded; now they should behave.

This was the experience Zhang Beixing had summarized from dismantling the BE base. These educated researchers might not amount to much themselves, but they had some pride. If not intimidated, communication was quite difficult.

Zhang Beixing said lightly, ”I said next one, I didn’t say you couldn’t speak.”

To them, Zhang Beixing’s voice at this moment was like a demon’s whisper, no different from sheep hearing the word ”slaughter,” causing the researchers’ bodies to shiver involuntarily.

For a moment, no one dared to speak, and Zhang Beixing did not speak either, just waited quietly.

However, in the eyes of the researchers, it was not like this at all. They did not think they could get away with staying silent; Zhang Beixing’s silence was like a loud death knell, and as time passed, the sound grew louder in their hearts.

After a few seconds, a slightly younger man dressed in the same blue surgical suit as the previous white man, with black hair, could not withstand the immense psychological pressure, and spoke in heavily accented Chinese: ”I love China, I know bit by bit, Chinese language.”

Hearing someone finally speak up, Zhang Beixing nodded quite satisfied, but hearing the man’s Chinese, as if it had been squeezed through an iron gate, required much thought and speculation to understand its meaning.

In an instant, Zhang Beixing waved helplessly.

”Let’s use English to communicate.”

Hearing Zhang Beixing’s words, the man who spoke and the other researchers in the ambulance were somewhat puzzled, then cast a pitiful glance at the head that had not long before rolled onto the ground.

Truly a mercurial demon who kills with no hesitation.

This thought passed through everyone’s mind, and their eyes looking at Zhang Beixing were filled with even more fear.

The man took a deep breath, not daring to defy Zhang Beixing’s wishes.

”Alright, Mr. Zhang.”

Zhang Beixing pointed to the frail figure on the ambulance stretcher.

”What’s his story?”

The man glanced at the figure lying on the stretcher, Jimmy, his eyes carrying hesitation, unsure if such organizational secrets should be disclosed so easily.

But then the man glimpsed the head on the ground, and his resolve became firm.

”Mr. Zhang, he is our experiment subject 8706.

As for what the experiment is and its effects, I think you must already know.”

8706?

Zhang Beixing’s pupils contracted; he hadn’t expected the BE organization here to be so rampant. The designation 8706 meant that before Jimmy, at least 8706 living people had been used in their mutant experiments.

But clearly, this was not the time to settle scores with them. Zhang Beixing continued to speak expressionlessly:

”His abilities are not surprising; what I’m curious about is why he’s different from the previous mutants.”

Hearing Zhang Beixing’s words, the man suppressed the fear in his heart to explain.

”Our previous research largely ensured that a Martial Artist would enhance their strength after using the serum, and could still maintain their sanity.

But experimentation on ordinary people, even if they survive and gain great power, results in loss of consciousness.

This has been a scientific conundrum that has always troubled us.”
