Chapter 450: Chapter 182: All Challenges Concluded! Shocking the Passersby! Transcendent Insight!

November 28th, Tuesday.

The normally bustling Yanjing City became exceptionally quiet today.

The streets were sparse with people and vehicles, all hurrying along.

Even the most relentless sweatshops had taken the rare step of giving their workers a day off, allowing them to work from home.

At seven o’clock in the morning, in the Yanjing Military Sub-district in the capital’s outskirts, Zhang Beixing awoke from his sleep.

He stretched comfortably and rubbed his eyes.

Looking out the window, he saw that a night had passed.

Outside, a heavy snowfall had commenced.

Accompanying the thick snow was the HOWLING of gale-force winds.

CLICK.

BANG! BANG!

THUD! THUD!

The dormitory door opened, and Martial Uncle Liu Pan walked in, his hat and clothes covered with snowflakes.

He patted his clothes and stamped his feet.

The snowflakes WHOOSHED off him, scattering all over the floor.

Liu Pan clutched his frostbitten hands around the scalding hot radiator pipe.

He instantly sucked in a sharp breath of cold air, squinted, leaned slightly forward while gripping the radiator, and let out a contented ”AHHH~”

After clutching it for a while, once the color of his palms had changed from white to red, Liu Pan reluctantly moved his hand from the radiator. He rubbed his now dry and thoroughly warmed palms, then walked over to comfortably sip some hot tea.

Feeling the warmth flow smoothly down his throat and into his stomach, Liu Pan sighed, looked at Zhang Beixing, and said, ”Martial Nephew, the weather forecast was spot on. It predicted this blizzard half a month ago, and I can’t believe it actually arrived today. Looking at this intensity, it’s going to take a day or two to calm down. These next few days are going to be rough. Forget training, even going out to eat will be a problem!”

Liu Pan grumbled, complaining about the uncooperative weather.

Snow was nice, but such heavy snowfall was truly overwhelming!

He had just been outside for four or five minutes and was nearly frozen stiff.

Hearing Liu Pan’s complaints, Zhang Beixing smiled without responding. He simply continued to get dressed while looking out the window.

Soon, he had geared himself up from head to toe.

Seeing this, Liu Pan felt puzzled and asked, ”Beixing, what are you going to do?”

”Take on a challenge!” Zhang Beixing declared.

”Challenge?” Liu Pan uttered in surprise, clearly puzzled.

Before Liu Pan could ask further, he saw Zhang Beixing push open the door and, in a few strides, step outside the building.

The cold wind was biting, as if slicing with knives.

Stepping out of the dormitory building and into the fierce, biting wind, a phrase formed in Zhang Beixing’s mind.

It was indeed the blizzard that even the Central Meteorological Station had specifically warned about. It was no joke!

This wind must be at least a Level Seven High Wind! Zhang Beixing squinted, the wind lashing his face like razor blades.

In Great Xia, wind force is classified into eighteen levels.

Each level has a different name and causes different levels of destruction.

A rhyme sums it up:

Level zero, no wind and the smoke rises straight; level one, light wind and the smoke tilts slightly.

Level two, gentle wind and the leaves rustle; level three, a light breeze and the branches sway.

Level four, a moderate breeze and dust lifts; level five, a fresh breeze and water ripples.

Level six, a strong wind and the big trees sway; level seven, a high wind and walking’s tough.

Level eight, a gale breaks branches; level nine, a severe gale destroys chimneys.

Level ten, a storm uproots trees; level eleven, a fierce storm rarely seen on land.

Level twelve, a hurricane with waves that touch the skies.

What Zhang Beixing faced now was precisely that Level Seven High Wind, making each step a struggle!

And by the looks of it, this Level Seven High Wind was only the beginning.

The wind’s force would only intensify.

It might even reach the intensity of a Level Ten Storm!

Coming to Yanjing was absolutely the right decision! Realizing this blizzard was far from its peak, excitement began to stir within Zhang Beixing.

He was now taking on the second of Oizaki’s Eight Challenges: Celestial Descent.

In the original Oizaki’s Eight Challenges, this task required one to parachute from Mount Everest.

But Zhang Beixing, considering he had already accomplished a similar daring feat of parachuting during ’The Earth’s Awakening’ trial, had revamped Celestial Descent from top to bottom.

In his first revised version, Celestial Descent involved running a lap on the Changkong Plank Road of Mount Hua without any safety measures.

But after learning about this blizzard, Zhang Beixing changed his mind.

Although running a lap on Mount Hua’s Changkong Plank Road was thrilling, it still lacked a certain something compared to this blizzard!

After all, Mount Hua’s Changkong Plank Road was man-made.

The fact that it was built by humans meant that walking or even running on it without protection was possible, and for a Great Grandmaster, it wasn’t challenging at all.

A blizzard, on the other hand, was a natural phenomenon—uncontrollable, with countless variables.

To date, no one had ever been heard of confronting a blizzard head-on!

And the most crucial point was Celestial Descent. The name itself implied its core: descending from the heavens.

What feat, what act of ’stealing from heaven,’ could better embody that essence than facing a blizzard descending from the sky, confronting a Level Ten Storm head-on?

Zhang Beixing had pondered this for days. Nothing else compared!

Of course, there were many other natural disasters, such as typhoons or sandstorms.

Feeling the wind cut like blades against his skin, it took a moment for the stinging discomfort around his eyes to ease slightly.

Zhang Beixing walked against the wind.
