Chapter 441: Chapter 180: The Transcendent Path, Starts Today_4

”Martial Arts instructor?”

Upon hearing Huo Honghao’s words, everyone in the video conference was taken aback.

Colonel Wang Fengyi from the Yanjing Military District seemed to think of something, his eyebrows furrowing slightly as he contemplated.

Before he could figure it out, a man with a dark complexion appeared on the screen next to Wang Fengyi. He was identified as Tashilang Mu, commander of the border region’s missile brigade. His Mandarin wasn’t very standard. He spoke in a muffled voice, ”What? A Martial Arts instructor? Colonel Huo Honghao, are you sure you’re not joking? Can a Martial Arts instructor really bring about such a significant change in your soldiers?”

”An ordinary Martial Arts instructor certainly couldn’t achieve this,” Huo Honghao said, clearly quite pleased with himself. ”But the person I invited this time is no ordinary man. He is the only Great Grandmaster in Great Xia in the last seven hundred years!”

”Great Grandmaster?” Upon hearing this, those present uttered a sound of surprise.

They seemed to have heard of it before but didn’t have a strong impression.

Only Colonel Wang Fengyi from the Yanjing Military District, upon hearing Huo Honghao’s words, sharply turned to look at Huo Honghao. ”Colonel Huo, are you talking about Zhang Beixing?”

”That’s right! It is him. Colonel Wang, you’ve heard of him too?” Huo Honghao looked at Wang Fengyi.

Wang Fengyi’s mouth twitched.

Heard of him? That barely scratches the surface! I even cooperated with Zhang Beixing on a recruitment video, and Zhang Beixing’s senior martial uncle is still working in our Yanjing Military District! How did this kid silently run off to the Shishi Military District to become an instructor? He was clearly dead set against this kind of thing before. What in the world is going on?

Unable to understand the situation, he gave up thinking about it. He just looked at Huo Honghao and eagerly asked, ”Colonel Huo, could you perhaps lend Great Grandmaster Zhang to us at the Yanjing Military District for a bit to give us some pointers?”

Upon hearing this, everyone’s attention was immediately captured. Their eyes filled with curiosity and anticipation.

It’s true we can’t quite remember who Zhang Beixing is right now. But that’s no big deal! Does not knowing him stop us from believing he’s incredible, or from wanting him to come guide our own military districts too? Not at all! In that case, we can start figuring out how to get Zhang Beixing from Huo Honghao. After all, someone who can significantly improve soldiers’ overall close-combat abilities and physical fitness in such a short time... it’s plain as day he’s an incredibly rare talent! If we could just lure... no, invite him from the Shishi Military District to be a permanent Martial Arts instructor in our own district... Man! We wouldn’t have to worry about future inter-military district Martial Arts competitions anymore! We’d crush them! A single powerful kick and we’d beat their bank account numbers right out of them!

With this thought, everyone became very keen on Zhang Beixing.

Seeing them like this, Huo Honghao naturally understood what they were thinking.

If Zhang Beixing were actually part of our Shishi Military District, I wouldn’t agree to this no matter what. After all, if he went, it’d be like throwing a meat bun to a dog—gone for good! But unfortunately, he’s not. The reason he’s here at the Shishi Military District serving as an instructor is to repay a favor to me, Huo Honghao. It’s temporary! Plus, Zhang Beixing himself isn’t very interested in joining the army.

Therefore, upon hearing their words, Huo Honghao, far from refusing, readily said, ”Sure! If you can manage it, feel free to invite him!”

Hearing this, everyone was first taken aback, then their eyes lit up. ”Are you sure?”

”Sure!”

”Great! Then it’s a deal!”

We don’t know what wire Huo Honghao crossed to actually agree to this. But whatever, as long as he’s agreed, it’s settled. No take-backs later!

Seeing the high-ranking officers from other military districts acting like this over one Zhang Beixing, Tashilang Mu, the brigade commander from the border region, expressed his bewilderment.

He grumbled, ”All this fuss for some ’Great Grandmaster’? Aren’t you overreacting a bit? In this day and age, no matter how strong someone’s personal abilities are, can they really be stronger than bullets or artillery shells? You’re making a mountain out of a molehill.”

Hearing this, Huo Honghao was momentarily stunned.

Ah, right. As a missile brigade commander, he naturally wouldn’t place much importance on individual combat ability. They focus more on weaponry, military proficiency, and team coordination—essentially, information warfare capabilities. Personal martial prowess isn’t very useful to them. That’s why he can’t understand this.

Realizing this, Huo Honghao patiently explained just how rare a Great Grandmaster was, their high status and formidable strength within Great Xia’s Martial Arts circles, and how much learning Martial Arts could help in combat. He had thought that after this explanation, Tashilang Mu would have a change of heart regarding Grandmasters. However, Huo Honghao had underestimated both Tashilang Mu’s stubbornness and his deep-seated disdain for Martial Arts.

Tashilang Mu’s response remained the same: ”Useless! No matter how strong personal abilities are, they’re worthless against guns and artillery. If you ask me, you’re all completely wasting your time!”

Well! The conversation died right there.

Seeing Tashilang Mu’s expression, which clearly said, I’m not listening; this stuff is absolutely useless, Huo Honghao completely lost interest in continuing the discussion.
