Chapter 418: Chapter 175: Willing to Follow Great Grandmaster Zhang to Revitalize Our Martial Arts!_3

At the very least, in all his life, this was the first time he had encountered people in reality who were so pretentious yet so stubbornly defiant!

Hearing Zhang Beixing’s words, Liu Yi was about to continue speaking along those lines.

Just then, the members of the ’Eight-Nation Alliance’ opposite them, after pausing for a moment to recover from the pressure exerted by Zhang Beixing, approached.

Seeing them arrive, Liu Yi’s brow furrowed slightly, and he swallowed the words on the tip of his tongue. He turned to look at the group, took a step forward, and said with a somewhat hostile expression, ”You lost, yet you’re not leaving. What are you planning? Don’t tell me you intend to interfere with our election again?”

That wasn’t impossible. After all, this ’Eight-Nation Alliance’ had come with precisely that goal from the very beginning. The fact that they hadn’t left despite their defeat made it hard for Liu Yi not to jump to that conclusion. A faint glint of killing intent appeared in Liu Yi’s eyes.

Sensing Liu Yi’s hostility, the group from the ’Eight-Nation Alliance’ naturally understood what he was thinking. Grandmaster Park from Korea hurriedly explained, ”Mr. Liu, please don’t be alarmed or misunderstand. Since we’ve admitted defeat, we won’t cause any more trouble. We’ve come over now simply because we wish to speak with Great Grandmaster Zhang about something!”

”Hm?” Upon hearing Park’s words, Zhang Beixing’s brow furrowed slightly. He raised a hand to stop Liu Yi and stepped forward. Sweeping his gaze over Park and the other members of the ’Eight-Nation Alliance’ behind him, he asked, ”What is it about?”

Apprehensive of the terrifying strength Zhang Beixing had demonstrated earlier, Park instinctively felt a sense of dread and dared not meet his gaze. He quickly bowed his head, bending at a ninety-degree angle to Zhang Beixing, and said, ”We came to find you, wanting to discuss with you... No! We want to request you, Great Grandmaster Zhang, to serve as the President of our Asia Martial Arts Association and lead our Asia Martial Arts Association to greater heights!”

As Park spoke, the others also mustered their courage and chimed in, ”That’s right, Great Grandmaster Zhang! We’ve been completely won over by your magnificent presence. We implore you to agree to our request!”

”Yes, the position of President of the Asia Martial Arts Association is meant for you. We won’t acknowledge anyone else!”

”Please, step up and take the position!”

”...”

The members of the ’Eight-Nation Alliance’ echoed these sentiments.

This was the conclusion they had reached after their earlier discussion. They had decided this not only because Zhang Beixing’s recent display had brought out their admiration for the strong and their servile nature, but also because, after deliberation, they realized that the President of the Asia Martial Arts Association could, and indeed must, be Zhang Beixing.

As an international organization uniting multiple countries, the Asia Martial Arts Association needed to possess the highest possible prestige within Asia, and even globally. Otherwise, if the public didn’t recognize it, they wouldn’t be able to profit from it, and the Asia Martial Arts Association would lose its very reason for existence. To this end, they had been preparing since May, going to great lengths to involve Great Xia. According to their original plan, after leveraging Great Xia’s influence, they were supposed to employ certain tactics to oust Great Xia. They had even orchestrated today’s events for this purpose.

However, during this period, an entirely unexpected variable had emerged: Zhang Beixing had broken through to the realm of Great Grandmaster! This was fatal to their plans!

It wouldn’t be an exaggeration to say it completely overturned their entire strategy. This was because the Great Grandmaster status Zhang Beixing had achieved represented a level of power unseen anywhere in the world for a full seven hundred years. Of course, other countries had no Great Grandmasters in their ancient history; only Great Xia’s did. Its rarity and significance were self-evident.For a Great Grandmaster, the likes of whom hadn’t appeared in seven hundred years, to be part of the Asia Martial Arts Association yet not even hold the position of President—if word of this got out, it would undoubtedly invite ridicule and cast doubt on the association’s very credibility, let alone its prestige!

So, whether driven by their awe of strength and inherent servility, or purely for their own self-interest, they all felt it necessary to bind Zhang Beixing to their warship.

Zhang Beixing, naturally, understood all this perfectly well. He was inclined to refuse outright. However, considering Great Xia was already involved, his refusal would be tantamount to disrespecting the Great Xia Martial Arts Association. That wouldn’t be appropriate, especially since he was still the Honorary Vice President of Northern River Province.

Zhang Beixing pondered for a moment. ”We’ll discuss this later. I’ll consider it.”

”Then we shall eagerly await your decision, Great Grandmaster Zhang!”

”Great Grandmaster, we’ll take our leave!”

Park understood Zhang Beixing’s lack of interest but dared not press the issue. He simply said these words and departed with the other members of the ’Eight-Nation Alliance’.

Not long after they left, the staff member from the Martial Arts Association returned. Since everyone except Zhang Beixing had voted in favor, it was no surprise that Zhang Beixing became the President of the Great Xia Martial Arts Association.

He received the certificate symbolizing his new role from the staff member. All that remained was the formal approval from the higher-ups, though in reality, this was already a settled matter—merely a procedural step to affirm authority.

Zhang Beixing was somewhat surprised. He had come this time simply because he heard Liu Yi and Chen Rourou were being bullied and had intended only to stand up for them. He hadn’t expected to also become the President of the Great Xia Martial Arts Association in the process.

But it’s not bad at all! Zhang Beixing mused. On his way here, he had looked into the powers and responsibilities that came with being the President of the Great Xia Martial Arts Association.
