Beastmaster of the Ages

Chapter 4496 - Mu Qingqing’s Main Body

Tianming converted chaotic power to ordered power within the pathway and awakened the ten streams of order within his body. Once more, he felt the power coming from countless strands of omnisentient threads awakening within him.

He turned to look at the nervous yet silent Mu Qingqing and asked, ”Did your main body not break through yet? Why has there been no activity at all?”

Her expression didn’t change at all, but Tianming could feel the worry in her gaze intensifying. She smiled at him warmly and said, ”Perhaps you’ll be able to see my main body the next time we meet.”

”Sounds good.” Tianming didn’t mind it too much. He did feel that something was off with her, but he couldn’t waste time to speculate given the urgency of the situation in the Realm of Order. ”Let’s go!”

He flew back towards the Flameyellow Imperial Star. Mu Qingqing watched as he disappeared into the distance. Then, the smile on her face faded away, replaced by a look of deep worry. She quickly left the pathway and returned to Nullity.

Soon, she saw Li Muyang, Li Tianzi and Wei Jing who had come after hearing the news. All the sky plunderers were there save for Tianming. Wei Jing and Mu Qingqing were wives of sky plunderers, so they were considered part of the same clan too.

”Has he left?” Li Muyang asked.

”Yes,” Mu Qingqing said.

”They already made their move. What should have come will eventually come after all,” Wei Jing said with a sigh.

The atmosphere was rather heavy. They headed to Plunderlord Palace and headed to the depths of Nullity. Soon, they reached the deep vortex of Nullity’s energy source where the Skyplunder Ark was located. It was a building that looked like a divine astralship of the sky plunderers. Li Muyang had brought Tianming there before to allow him to complete his Skypierce Finger by swallowing three kilooptic beasts to unlock Skylightsteal.

The four of them went deeper into the ark and reached a secret room. The doors gradually opened for them, revealing a seemingly lifeless corpse of a cosmic god. The corpse had already lost all its luster and had no trace of astral power remaining, a sign that the cosmic god had died long ago. It looked like nothing more than a hollow shell of rock. It was completely devoid of life.

The four of them ascended the stairs and gradually reached the top half of the corpse. It was dressed in a hardened black dress with its hands placed near its abdomen. It looked just like Mu Qingqing, though her clone of ten thousand meters looked like the size of the corpse’s thumb.

She shuddered at the sight of the corpse, giving it a complicated look. ”I just told him that he’ll be able to see my main body the next time we meet. But I didn’t tell him that my main body is already dead.”

The other three fell silent for a moment. After a while, Li Muyang said, ”Tianming can only pick one battlefield between the flameyellow divinities of the Realm of Order or us. He can only win in one place, not both. We’ve already known that we’re nothing but bait being used by other people, living like mannequins. Since that’s the case, let’s burn it all down so that we can get rid of an enemy for him. Since those Aeternal Beings dared to revive us, they will pay a price for it!”

Li Muyang seemed incredibly resolute. He was already fully aware of his identity and what kind of role he was meant to play. However, he had intentions and power of his own. Once he unleashed them properly, even the puppeteers in the background wouldn’t get off scot free.

Mu Qingqing looked at her corpse and calmly asked, ”Since Shen Wu already took action, does that mean that the nine are prepared to attack together? They only have one goal and that’s to take Tianming away!”

”Not necessarily,” Li Muyang said. ”They’ve always had issues communicating with each other. They also don’t have a unifying goal. Even if they do something, they won’t necessarily be all in this together. However, it’s true that they’ve all awakened. They will definitely do something to advance towards their ultimate goal!

”Tianming’s growth is probably what worries them the most, given how fast he’s progressed. Even if they don’t achieve complete mutual understanding, they might attack nevertheless! Jie Ba’s attack on Vermillion Bird was no accident. In fact, it proves their intentions!”

They all listened silently. Once the enemy took action, it would only end in their demise. There was no room for negotiations, only fights to the death.

Li Tianzi said, ”Jie Ba wasn’t able to kill Tianming the last time. Instead, we won and got so many resources for him to grow. I bet the masterminds behind the scenes will be really mad at Jie Ba.”

Li Muyang shook his head and said, ”Even if they’re angry, they wouldn’t stop him. Maybe they even wanted to see it happen. When I was forced to leave Nullity, the karmic chains might have allowed them to contact the projections. This will no doubt be advantageous to them.”

Wei Jing said, ”There’s one thing we should note, though. They’re only eight for now. Something happened to the ninth. That might be Tianming’s lifeline.”

The tiniest of them, Mu Qingqing, smiled and said, ”That fellow is too merciful for his own good. Still, he does have quite a bit of luck. Perhaps when the tribulation of death from the projections reach him, his many relationships, especially the intimate ones, would come to his rescue.”

Wei Jing looked at her and asked, ”Does that hurt you?”

She shook her head and said, ”I’ve come to an epiphany recently. He’s not the same as him. He’s not the one I love. The one that I love already passed on to the next life with me. This Li Tianming is a different person. I do take pity on him, but I do not love him. All I want is for him to have a good and blessed life. I hope he’ll be able to escape the prison that is this divine body. He should obtain true freedom.”

Li Muyang’s gaze turned cold as he concluded, ”Let’s prepare for the final battle. We’ll show the puppeteers that moths like us would fly into the flame if it means we’ll be able to set fire to their plans!”
