Destined Entwining: Capturing My Devoted Beau

Chapter 1042: Chapter 489: Gathering of Winds and Clouds (Second Update)_3

Lawrence Winters hadn’t thought of that point, but was intrigued by the idea: ”...That’s a good idea, but I haven’t seen such locks available on the market, I guess I need to consult Mr. Parker.”

As she spoke, she stood in front of the lock and placed her finger on it.

The lock’s monitoring system scanned Lawrence Winters’s iris and fingerprint, along with 3D imaging and biometric identification, confirming her as a known living person in the database before letting them in.

As they entered the living room, they discovered there were already three people there.

Kenneth Osborne and a woman were sitting side by side on the sofa facing the entrance, heads together, looking at a widescreen laptop on the coffee table in front of them.

Another man sat with his back to the entrance, judging by his figure and the back of his head, it was probably Evan Stetford.

Lawrence Winters had already seen Evan Stetford’s car outside, so she wasn’t surprised to see him here.

Edward Foster and Mrs. Foster were quite surprised, however.

Evan Stetford heard the sound, turned for a glance, and broke into a surprised smile: ”Huh? Young Mr. Foster, why are you here? Mrs. Foster, you’re here too? Please, have a seat.”

Kenneth Osborne and the woman raised their heads at this moment.

Lawrence Winters saw the woman was Abigail Henderson, Quentin Parker’s recommended proxy lawyer for Kenneth Osborne.

She glanced at Abigail Henderson, then at Evan Stetford, ”Evan, did Lawyer Henderson come with you?”

”Yes, Kenneth’s lawsuit is proceeding with urgency. After Lawyer Henderson took over, she’s already found flaws in the evidence on the other side and is verifying them with Kenneth. I figured he wasn’t doing much here and it would be a waste of time, so when Lawyer Henderson said she wanted to discuss with him, I consulted Mr. Parker and got his approval to bring Lawyer Henderson over.”

”If there are no surprises, Lawyer Henderson will stay here for a while. After all, the lawsuit is filed in the California court against Kenneth’s company, so the defense will also be in California.”

Evan Stetford explained with a smile.

Edward Foster, where Lawrence Winters couldn’t see, gave Evan Stetford a thumbs-up, but quickly turned it down in disdain.

Evan Stetford caught a glimpse of this with his peripheral vision, maintaining a smile, but what he was thinking was unknown.

Lawrence Winters laughed, ”Oh, we’re certainly lively here now. I initially said that with such a big house, having only two people was really lacking in liveliness. Now it’s great, we have three more people...”

She knew Evan Stetford certainly couldn’t stay here.

Because he is the chairman of this Celestial Path Sect competition, while she is a contestant, he needs to avoid suspicion.

So only Abigail Henderson, Mrs. Foster, and Edward Foster would stay here.

This house has lots of rooms and is exceptionally spacious, adding three more people feels like raindrops in the ocean, no sense of crowdedness at all.

Kenneth Osborne saw Edward Foster and Mrs. Foster standing behind Lawrence Winters, a hint of understanding flashed in his eyes.

He closed the laptop and stood up with a smile, ”Young Mr. Foster and Mrs. Foster are here too?”

Lawrence Winters quickly turned to introduce Edward Foster and Mrs. Foster to Abigail Henderson, ”Lawyer Henderson, this is Edward Foster and his mom, Mrs. Foster. They are my friends, here for a vacation, and will stay in this house for a few days. Mr. Parker has agreed.”

Kenneth Osborne wasn’t willing for Edward Foster to stay here, but upon hearing Lawrence Winters say Quentin Parker also agreed, he said no more.

After all, he’s not the homeowner here, and Quentin Parker has agreed, so who’s he to have a say?

Kenneth Osborne gave a slight nod with a smile and said, ”The scenery and air here are nice, it’s a great place for a vacation.”

Lawrence Winters smiled and said, ”Have you settled in? How about putting down your luggage and tidying up, then we’ll go out for lunch?”

Previously, with only two people, Kenneth Osborne could cook for her.

But now there are so many people, cooking would be time-consuming, and Lawrence Winters didn’t think Kenneth Osborne had the time to cook for so many people.

Especially, why should he?

So she said to Evan Stetford, ”Evan, can you help us find another cook? Everyone’s too busy these days, no time to cook, and dining out every day isn’t fun; I haven’t yet found a restaurant I like.”

Evan Stetford raised an eyebrow, ”Kenneth can cook, can’t he? I even told Abigail that Kenneth’s cooking seems pretty good...”

He heard from the host of the competition here that Kenneth Osborne specially went out to buy groceries and cook alone for Lawrence Winters.

Evan Stetford suddenly felt a strong sense of crisis.

”I can cook, but do you think I can cook for five every day? Kenneth is even busier than me,” Lawrence Winters shrugged nonchalantly, ”Let’s find a chef, so we can all happily eat together every day; that’s the way to enjoy a vacation!”

Edward Foster beside them was laughing with deep meaning.

Upon entering, he could see these arrangements were orchestrated by Evan Stetford.

Unable to accompany Lawrence Winters himself, he worried Kenneth Osborne spending days alone with her might spark chemistry...

So not only did he let Abigail Henderson move in, but also prompted him to fly over overnight.

Mrs. Foster then gently said, ”We’ve brought a chef; he’ll arrive this afternoon. Let’s go out for lunch, my treat.”
