Destined Entwining: Capturing My Devoted Beau

Chapter 1005: Chapter 476: Searching (Second Update)

Kenneth Osborne curled his lips into a smile, walked to the other side, got into the car, closed the door, and drove towards the restaurant where Quentin Parker had arranged to meet them.

On the way, Kenneth Osborne didn’t idle. He kept asking her, ”Does your shoulder still hurt?”

”What’s the deal with that whip?”

”Can it really emit Holy Light?”

”Aren’t you part of the Celestial Path Sect from the East? Do you also research Holy Light and Black Magic?”

Lawrence Winters supported his chin with his hand, leaned against the car window, and said calmly, ”My shoulder’s long since better. As for the whip, does Mr. Osborne also concern himself with such trivial matters?”

Kenneth Osborne stayed silent for a moment, then laughed self-deprecatingly and said, ”Honestly, these things still seem trivial to me.”

Lawrence Winters: ”...”

She knew he was stubborn.

Having known him for over a decade, she understood him best.

Kenneth Osborne added, ”But as long as it’s something you like, I show respect. Though I still don’t understand.”

Through this contest in the Celestial Path Sect, he realized that Lawrence Winters was probably part of another world, one he couldn’t comprehend and didn’t want to understand.

The ancients said that a child wouldn’t speak of spirits or gods, and kept a respectful distance from them.

He sincerely said, ”I apologize for my previous narrow-mindedness, but I still hope you can stay safe and not take too many risks. You’re just one person, not anyone’s savior.”

The behavior of that Blythe couple truly left Kenneth Osborne astonished.

Although Lawrence Winters did end up saving Alice Blythe, Kenneth Osborne still felt uncomfortable about that family.

He had such a strong protective instinct towards Lawrence Winters, he couldn’t bear to see her get hurt, even if the harm came from herself.

Perhaps her tumultuous childhood left Kenneth Osborne with psychological shadows.

Protecting her had become his subconscious.

Lawrence Winters was surprised that Kenneth Osborne would actually apologize.

She glanced at him and sarcastically said, ”... Not mocking my family’s business now?”

Kenneth Osborne pressed his lips together, his ears slightly reddened, but he softly said, ”I’m sorry, I was too narrow-minded. Can you forgive me this once?”

He softened his tone, and the magnetic baritone sounded particularly deep, like a sledgehammer pounding against Lawrence Winters’ heart.

Lawrence Winters glared at him, her anger almost making her grind her teeth.

His slightly apologetic expression, his moist, dark eyes, his reddened ears, like a deer asking for forgiveness... a big deer.

Who could possibly resist that?!

The guilt reached a level that felt like a foul!

Everything he did seemed to grow in her heart like flowers blooming in the dust.

Lawrence Winters suddenly looked away, closed her eyes, lightly stroked her anxiously beating heart, and huffed, ”We’ve already divorced, so it doesn’t matter if I forgive or not.”

Kenneth Osborne: ”...”

Even that doesn’t work?

He didn’t continue speaking, remaining silent while driving to the restaurant they had agreed upon with Quentin Parker.

This is a very elegant and classic restaurant in the Upper East Side of Manhattan.

The pianist was playing Debussy’s ”Clair de Lune,” creating a sense of coming from and returning to a dreamy and surreal realm.

It was as if a layer of water-like gauze enveloped the restaurant’s hall.

Lawrence Winters and Kenneth Osborne were led by a server to a corner of the hall, veiled by a row of green plants.

The space here was actually quite spacious, with a gleaming crystal-clear floor-to-ceiling window nearby, outside the gentle moonlight, several hydrangea flowers blooming in the garden by the window.

Quentin Parker had already arrived, along with Evan Stetford, Aiden Sheldon, and a young woman who looked very competent, with exquisite features, beautiful but with a cool demeanor.

The woman wore a smoky pink silk blouse, gray lightweight wool trousers, her gaze clear, her posture dignified, exhibiting a refined and capable elite style.

Seeing Kenneth Osborne and Lawrence Winters coming in together, Quentin Parker nodded at them, ”Just waiting on you two, sit down. — Abigail, have the restaurant serve the dishes.”

The last sentence was directed at the woman.

Then he introduced them to Lawrence Winters and Kenneth Osborne, ”This is attorney Abigail Henderson; she’s part of my team at the law firm here, specializing in intellectual property law, especially adept at handling international intellectual property cases, undefeated.”

Kenneth Osborne realized that this was the lawyer introduced to him.

Quentin Parker himself wouldn’t appear in court, but he had said he would find the best team to assist him in this case.

Lawrence Winters curiously glanced at Abigail Henderson.

This person’s features were proper, with a just right ratio between the whites and blacks of her eyes, indicating a straightforward character.

Although her appearance held a charming allure, it carried a dignified and composed air.

She gracefully stood up, also with a height of one meter seventy, matching Lawrence Winters when standing together.

”Alright, Mr. Parker, I’ll go talk to them. Ms. Winters, Mr. Osborne, do you have any dietary restrictions?” She asked thoughtfully, her smile professional yet not bothersome; rather, it felt like this was how a professional should be.

Lawrence Winters found it most special that this woman didn’t display any starstruck behavior upon seeing such a handsome guy like Kenneth Osborne.

She truly felt nothing, unlike someone intentionally hiding it.

Lawrence Winters was sensitive to this.

Kenneth Osborne smiled slightly and said, ”I don’t have any dietary restrictions, but Nora likes light and sweet flavors.”

”Got it, both of you please sit, I’ll be right back.” Abigail Henderson swiftly left this little haven to find a server and arrange today’s menu.

Ever since Lawrence Winters came in, Aiden Sheldon had been observing her.

Watching her every action closely.

His gaze would occasionally linger on her face, as if searching, or perhaps in reminiscence.
