Chaos Heavenly Emperor Technique

Chapter 205: Chapter 205: Must Take the Role Even If It’s Inappropriate!

”Devil Instructor” Leng Jianfeng pushed open the door and sized up Ling Feng from head to toe, stroked his bearded chin, and chuckled, ”Kid, you’re really getting the luxury treatment here, aren’t you? How do you feel? All loosened up now?”

Ling Feng nodded, ”Thanks for the medicinal bath, Instructor Leng. By the way, how long was I unconscious?”

”Oh, not too long, you were just out for two days and nights,” said Leng Jianfeng, puckering his lips.

”Only two days?”

Ling Feng touched his nose and sighed in relief; he hadn’t missed the scheduled meeting with Yan Cangtian after all.

”Two days and nights and you think it’s too short? Damn it, boy, I spent a fortune, even used Thousand-year-old Purple Blood Ginseng on you! If you hadn’t woken up, those little rascals would have turned the place upside down!”

Leng Jianfeng snickered, ”Alright, since you’re awake now, get on back! Don’t think just because you showed a bit of flair in the East Courtyard that you can slack off. The two hundred laps you missed while unconscious, I’ve kept track. From here on, you’ll run an extra twenty laps a day for the next month, got it?”

Ling Feng rolled his eyes. This guy truly lived up to the title ”Devil Instructor”!

But thinking about Leng Jianfeng actually using the Thousand-year-old Purple Blood Ginseng for his recovery, Ling Feng felt a bit of gratitude and nodded, ”Yes, Instructor Leng!”

”Right, starting now, you’re the Chief of the East Courtyard. You will assist me in supervising all students’ cultivation. Any problem with that?”

”The Chief of the East Courtyard?” Ling Feng blinked. ”Is there any benefit in that?”

”You...” Leng Jianfeng almost lost it and kicked Ling Feng. The position of chief student—countless people dreamed of it, yet this knucklehead was asking for benefits!

”No benefits? Then, never mind, Instructor Leng, I prefer to be on my own. I can hardly manage myself!”

Ling Feng shrugged. What a joke, as if he had the interest to monitor everyone else’s cultivation progress. Not to mention, every three days, he still had to visit Yan Cangtian to study the ”Medicine King’s Scripture” and treat his poisoning. Where would he get that extra energy from?

”Crap, you were so diligent that day! Everyone unanimously voted you as Chief!”

”I...I just felt like I could run thirty more laps...”

Ling Feng felt helpless internally. He had been momentarily passionate, and it ended up being his own downfall. Who knew the first day of training would be linked with becoming the chief student?

If others knew how indifferent Ling Feng was about the chief student position, they’d likely want to smack him dead with a shoe. If you don’t want it, leave the chance for someone else! Plenty of people are eager for it!

”Damn spoiled brat, am I giving you too much face here?”

Leng Jianfeng delivered a kick that sent Ling Feng flying out of the room, very unceremoniously deciding, ”Hmph! Whether you like it or not, you’re going to be the Chief!”

Then, that old rogue slammed the door with a ”bang,” leaving Ling Feng no chance to refuse.

”I...”

Ling Feng had a face full of tears but no place to cry, feeling like a scholar encountering soldiers, unable to reason his way out.

...

Ling Feng wandered through a series of pavilions and towers for most of the day before he finally found where the Yellow Character Disciples lived.

After confirming it was indeed the Tianshu East Courtyard where he stayed, Ling Feng stepped into the courtyard.

At that moment, there was not a single person in the courtyard. It seemed they had all gone to attend their academic classes.

According to the schedule, today’s classes were supposed to be about Empire history and military strategy, taught by a middle-aged, bald instructor who was responsible for imparting the rules of True Qi Attribute changes.

”No one here, even better!” Ling Feng shrugged his shoulders and decided to practice his swordsmanship first, stretching his muscles and bones.

Just as he took out his Sword, he saw Ouyang Jing and Jiang Xiaofan each carrying a Fine Iron Sword, rushing into the yard.

”Damn, big brother, you’re finally back!”

On seeing Ling Feng return, Ouyang Jing immediately rushed over, teary-eyed, ”I thought that old beast Instructor Leng had taken you back to torture you!”

Ling Feng rolled his eyes, this guy’s imagination was truly rich, and he shook his head, bitterly smiling, ”It’s nothing, Instructor Leng just took me back for some treatment.”

”That’s good, then. Yesterday, Instructor Leng had us send your clean clothes over. I thought you had been...” Ouyang Jing coughed a few times and lowered his voice, ”I thought Instructor Leng might have some unsavory habits!”

”What unsavory habits?” Jiang Xiaofan was innocent at heart and didn’t catch on to Ouyang Jing’s dirty thoughts.

”Get lost!”

Ling Feng darkened, kicking Ouyang Jing on the butt. When he first met him, he thought he was a decent person, but after getting familiar, it turned out his thoughts were so lewd!

”Hehe... just joking!” Ouyang Jing rubbed his butt and chuckled, ”Big brother, you’ve got quite the reputation now in our East Courtyard! I heard some of the female students secretly shedding tears over you!”

Ling Feng rolled his eyes again, ”Boring!”

”Right, right, the Master Su who taught the Empire history today, she asked about you!” Jiang Xiaofan added, ”Master Su seemed really concerned when she saw you didn’t attend the class.”

”Hehe, Master Su is really something, that figure, that face...” Ouyang Jing sighed softly, ”If I could ever marry such a top-grade beauty, tsk tsk tsk...”

Ling Feng poked his forehead, speechless, ”Second Brother, instead of daydreaming here, you might as well focus on your cultivation!”

Ouyang Jing slung his Sword over his shoulder, ”I’m just thinking about it, can’t I even do that?”

”By the way, where are Zhou Kai and Feng Mo? Why haven’t I seen them come back?”

Ling Feng touched his nose; mentioning the arrogant Yang Jun aside, Zhou Kai and the others were usually warm, hence he asked a bit more.

”After Feng Mo finished the Empire history class, he went to the Book Collection Pavilion to borrow books on the Empire’s history. That guy clearly has ulterior motives.”

Ouyang Jing pursed his lips, waved his Fine Iron Sword performing a few moves of Basic Swordsmanship, and spoke indifferently, ”As for Zhou Kai and He Yiming, they seem to have gone to the Sword Fighting Arena. From afar, I saw they seemed to have some conflict with students from the West Courtyard. I was rushing to find Xiao Fan at the time, so I didn’t see what happened or the specifics.”

”Sword Fighting Arena? What was Zhou Kai doing at the Sword Fighting Arena?”

Ling Feng touched his nose. Heavenly Position Academy was martial-oriented, hence, it highly encouraged competition among students.

The Sword Fighting Arena was where students could spar and compete, not just with swords, but also with spears, sabers, halberds, or any of the eighteen types of weaponry.

Depending on the number of participants, matches could be either one-on-one or team-based fights.

Since Heavenly Position Academy trained students who were destined for the Empire’s elite, they placed particular emphasis on teamwork in combat. Team competitions, like five-person team sword matches, were especially popular among the Four Great Imperial Colleges.

”It seems to be about Zhou Kai’s sister, I heard Zhou Kai has a sister who came with him and got assigned to the West Courtyard. Seems like she was harassed by someone!” Ouyang Jing said with a shrug.

Just then, a knocking sound came from the half-closed door, followed by a crisp voice, ”Excuse me, does Zhou Kai live here?”
