Chaos Heavenly Emperor Technique

Chapter 199: Chapter 199: You’re Sick!

After a long time, Yan Cangtian finally calmed down from that nearly insane state.

He stared intensely at Ling Feng, sizing him up from head to toe as if trying to see right through the young man.

”Young man, who exactly are you? Who taught you your alchemy skills?”

Yan Cangtian had never imagined that a teenager would possess such alchemy accomplishments. Not to mention anything else, his alchemy techniques were nearly as skilled as a sixth-level alchemist!

”It’s sort of a family heritage,” Ling Feng touched his nose. In truth, he had not purposefully delved deep into studies of alchemy. It was only because the medical books left by his grandfather stressed the significance of alchemy to a medical practitioner that he had become distracted with the Alchemy Dao.

Even so, the literature of medical skills passed down by the Medical Saint, including the ”Supreme Mysterious Acupuncture Scripture,” combined with Ling Feng’s exceptional talent, had already given him what could be called the foremost alchemy accomplishments in the Sky White Empire at his tender age.

”Heritage?” Yan Cangtian narrowed his eyes. ”Within the Sky White Empire, there exist Daoist Medical Families with over a thousand years of history; to my knowledge, only the Sun Family, Huaa Family, Jin Family, and Lee Family. And yet, you clearly bear the surname Ling!”

”Oh...” Ling Feng pursed his lips, showing no intention of revealing himself as the heir of the Medical Saint, and simply said nonchalantly, ”Could it be that in this whole world, aside from the Daoist Medical Families, there are no other great figures in alchemy? Like the elder’s alchemy skills, they are unique and can match most grandmasters.”

”Ha, the kid has insight!” Yan Cangtian beamed upon hearing Ling Feng’s words, ”Alright, alright, if you refuse to disclose your identity, so be it. Quick, tell me how the Hundred Herbs Elixir is refined! There shouldn’t be any mistakes in my Elixir Recipe!”

”The Elixir Recipe you completed was indeed impeccable,” Ling Feng said with a light smile. ”However, Elder, if you look at the medicinal herbs I’ve chosen compared to the ones you picked out yourself, you’ll probably understand the mystery behind it.”

After saying this, Ling Feng brought forward the one hundred materials he had collected and started to place the medicinal herbs one by one in front of Yan Cangtian for comparison.

Only after doing all this did Ling Feng slowly speak, ”There are one hundred herbs in the Hundred Herbs Elixir, and elder, you mistook over thirty of them. Furthermore, there are six whose properties are completely opposite. Had it not been for your alchemy skills reaching a pinnacle, I’m afraid you wouldn’t even have been able to form the elixir.”

Yan Cangtian’s eyelids twitched uncontrollably as he grabbed the mistaken herbs, looking back and forth, utterly befuddled, ”How can they be wrong? They look exactly the same!”

Ling Feng didn’t know whether to laugh or to cry and seriously said, ”Elder, the truth is right before your eyes. Your theoretical knowledge is profound, and your alchemy skills can be called that of a grandmaster, but as an alchemist, the ability to identify medicinal herbs is also extremely crucial.”

”I don’t understand herbal identification... haha... I don’t understand it...”

Yan Cangtian burst out laughing maniacally, ”How could I possibly not understand it? I am Yan Cangtian, who could identify hundred herbs at three years old, who became a first-rank alchemist at the age of seven! By twenty, I had entered the ranks of the empire’s top alchemists! How could I not understand herbs?”

Ling Feng watched Yan Cangtian’s frenzied behavior and declared, ”Because you are sick!”

From the first time he saw Yan Cangtian, Ling Feng noticed something off about him, but the overwhelming scent of medicinal herbs on his body had masked some crucial information.

And now, Ling Feng realized that within Yan Cangtian’s body, too much Elixir Poison had accumulated!

This man must have frequently tested remedies on himself!

And it made sense—Yan Cangtian, in his efforts to complete the ”Medicine King’s Scripture,” must have tested countless medicinal herbs.

As the saying goes, all medicine contains a measure of poison. Over the years, numerous poisons had accumulated in his body. Although he had used his profound martial strength to suppress the poison, his brain had still been severely affected.

Although these were Ling Feng’s guesses, he had fairly accurately surmised the majority of the situation. Another part of the problem was that Yan Cangtian, in order to test his achievements, refined a variety of elixirs and tested them on himself, which resulted in a mixture of elixir and medicinal poison. Even his mighty martial strength became unpredictable, waxing and waning without warning.

”Your body is tainted with too much medicinal poison, which has already interfered with your brain function. If this vicious cycle continues, senior, I dare say you won’t live past three years!”

Ling Feng gazed directly into Yan Cangtian’s eyes, and despite seeing his expression becoming increasingly angry, he still voiced his diagnosis.

”Nonsense!” Yan Cangtian roared furiously, slapping his palm hard onto a stone table beside him. Unfortunately, his martial strength suddenly disappeared, leaving the stone table unscathed while his palm turned red and swollen.

”Ouch!”

Yan Cangtian clutched his palm, which throbbed painfully. ”Damn it, my strength is gone again!”

”Hm?” Ling Feng’s expression changed. ”Senior’s martial strength has become so unreliable?”

He hurriedly stepped forward and grabbed Yan Cangtian’s arm, placing it on his pulse and said solemnly, ”Senior, I’m afraid your symptoms have already entered the second stage! If we can’t remove the medicinal poison from your body, first, you’ll go completely blind; second, your martial strength will dissipate; and after that, I presume I need not say more, right?”

”You!” Yan Cangtian tried to push Ling Feng away. On one hand, he was frightened by Ling Feng’s words, and on the other, he had temporarily lost his martial strength and was incapable of resisting.

Ling Feng helped Yan Cangtian sit down beside him and said gravely, ”Senior, your dedication to testing medicine on yourself and wholeheartedly researching the Medicine King’s Scripture and even completing it—just for that, I am truly ashamed. If senior trusts me, I am willing to help you cleanse the medicinal poison from your body.”

In fact, Ling Feng’s offer to treat Yan Cangtian was not solely for the reason just mentioned; he also had his own ulterior motives.

The Medicine King’s Scripture was something all doctors dream of. If he could cure Yan Cangtian, asking to borrow this treasure would be reasonable, and Yan Cangtian would have no reason to refuse.

Furthermore, he was genuinely interested in Yan Cangtian’s unusual condition, and treating such a strange illness would be a challenge for him.

He had been concerned that after arriving at the Heavenly Position Academy, he might lack a dedicated Medicine Garden to further his study of medical skills and the Alchemy Dao. But now, it seemed Yan Cangtian’s Medicine Garden was quite suitable.

In summary, if he could cure Yan Cangtian, it would be all gains and no losses.

”Young man, can you really cure my peculiar illness?”

For some reason, upon seeing Ling Feng’s eyes, Yan Cangtian felt a measure of trust, as if his mind had also become a bit clearer.

He was well aware of his condition; he had indeed noticed the medicinal poison in his body starting to erode himself, but he had always used his cultivation to suppress it, missing the best time for treatment.

Lately, his brain had become somewhat addled, and it never occurred to him to seek treatment. Besides, his eccentric ways made everyone keep their distance, and gradually, he had come to be regarded as an ”Old Madman.”

Such a downfall for a once Alchemy Genius was truly pitiable and lamentable.

”If you believe in me, I can cure you,” Ling Feng nodded slightly. ”However, your condition is somewhat troublesome; I need to think about it further. But tonight, I can perform acupuncture to relieve some of the medicinal poison within your Dan Tian Energy Sea, so that your Primordial Qi doesn’t frequently lose control.”

”Alright, I trust you!” Yan Cangtian clenched his teeth, ”Let’s do it!”
