Chaos Heavenly Emperor Technique

Chapter 185: Chapter 185 Enrollment Assessment!

Time flew by, and in the blink of an eye, Ling Feng and Mu Qianxue had arrived at the Imperial City and had been there for three days. It was finally time for the registration to enroll at the Four Great Universities.

The Four Great Imperial Colleges comprised the Heavenly Position Academy, Sea Blue Academy, True Dragon Academy, and Wenyuan Academy.

These four universities were the gathering places for the most elite talents of the whole Sky White Empire. Regardless of one’s background, as long as you had talent and strength, you could protect your life and participate in the admission test.

However, contrary to the saying ”the pen is mightier than the sword,” it was those from major clans who generally ended up as superior individuals. At the very least, core disciples from smaller sects also made the cut. Those from commoner backgrounds who succeeded were very few indeed.

Ling Feng’s goal was naturally the Heavenly Position Academy. Seeing that Ling Feng had chosen the Heavenly Position Academy, Mu Qianxue did not hesitate and chose the same.

On this day, Ling Feng awoke early. After washing up and having breakfast with Mu Qianxue, they left the inn and headed to the registration office of the Heavenly Position Academy.

At this moment, the square of the Heavenly Position Academy was bustling with activity, crowded and noisy.

Every year at this time, young talents from across the country would travel thousands of miles to the Four Great Universities, hoping to become a student there and perhaps return home in glory or enter the court to become a minister of the Empire.

Among the four universities, the Heavenly Position Academy had the strongest overall strength. Although the four universities had similar levels in Martial Arts, the Heavenly Position Academy also offered courses in Alchemy Dao, Medical Skill, Engraving, Array, Forging, and Cultivation, covering nearly all disciplines related to cultivation and ensuring the most suitable nurturing for each student.

”Ding! Ding! Ding! ...”

The melodious sound of the bell rang out, signaling that the entrance test was about to officially commence.

When Ling Feng and Mu Qianxue arrived at the Martial Arts Square, the registration had already been going on for about an hour.

It wasn’t that they hadn’t gotten up early enough, but rather that the Sky White Imperial City was simply too vast, and all inns near the Heavenly Position Academy had been fully booked a month in advance.

The two rushed and managed not to miss the registration.

The Four Great Universities had a history of nearly a thousand years, and the testing rules and systems for admission were very well-established.

This included tests for bone age, True Qi attribute, physique, comprehension, and willpower. Each test was supervised by senior students and mentors, divided into several testing sites, so the process was relatively swift.

After completing their registration, Ling Feng and Mu Qianxue separated as they were assigned to different groups and thus different testing sites.

”Good luck, you can definitely make it!” Ling Feng nodded to Mu Qianxue and gave her an encouraging look.

He could tell that Mu Qianxue’s physique was quite extraordinary, but it seemed she was completely unfamiliar with Martial Technique. Despite having cultivation at the Early-stage Pulse Condensation, she couldn’t even mobilize her True Qi. In Ling Feng’s view, Mu Qianxue’s chances of successfully joining the Heavenly Position Academy were not very high.

Of course, he could only help her up to this point; ultimately, Mu Qianxue’s fate still depended on herself.

”I will!” Mu Qianxue gazed deeply at Ling Feng, her eyes filled with gratitude.

Ling Feng was the only one who had helped her without any ulterior motives.

Ling Feng smiled faintly, gripped his sequence number token, and strode towards testing point number three.

Mu Qianxue watched Ling Feng’s departing figure, and unbeknownst to her, the image of this graceful young man was deeply imprinted in her heart.

...

At testing point number three.

Outside the hall, Ling Feng saw many young people who had come to register. Some were rejoicing at having passed the first phase of the test, while others, having been turned away, were in tears begging for another chance.

Ling Feng pursed his lips and joined the queue to undergo the ”bone age” test.

The bone-age test, as the name suggests, was to discern age by examining bones. Some individuals lied about their age to enter Heavenly Position Academy, which was quite normal, but none could escape detection in this phase of the test.

Typically, as long as one was under twenty-four years old, they could register.

At the front center of the hall, an elderly man in a silver robe sat to the side, overseeing the entire testing process.

His aura was imperceptible to Ling Feng, indicating his immensely terrifying strength. Anyone who dared cause trouble would face certain death.

On each side of this elder were placed a table, with a middle-aged man sitting at each. They conducted the bone-age test for each young boy and girl participating.

”Fourteen years old, qualified!”

”Nine years old, qualified!”

”Seventeen years old, qualified!”

”...”

”Twenty-four and a half years old? Not qualified!”

The expressions of those two middle-aged men were very serious, like judges, their words determining each registrant’s fate.

Those attempting to slip through were either sheepishly dismissed or fell into desperate pleading and crying, but nothing could change the impartial verdict.

Ling Feng pursed his lips; those who came to register and were over twenty years old were rare because, according to the rules of the Four Great Universities, they must leave school by the age of twenty-four. Hence, the most suitable age would be thirteen to eighteen years old.

Soon, it was finally Ling Feng’s turn.

”Stretch out your right hand!” commanded the middle-aged male tester, his face expressionless.

Ling Feng did as told and saw the middle-aged man grab his arm, tapping it lightly a few times. He barely saw what the man did before hearing him say, ”Eighteen and a half years old, qualified!”

After receiving his results, Ling Feng collected his numbered token from a senior student next to him.

Passing the first phase meant he truly began the entrance test.

The token was a wooden plaque with the number ”9527” on it, which implied he was the nine-thousand-plus registrant, highlighting just how immense the number of applicants was.

In fact, each year, less than a thousand people successfully made it into Heavenly Position Academy, sometimes even fewer, around five or six hundred.

In Heavenly Position Academy, all students were categorized into ”Heavenly Earth Xuanhuang” four levels. Normally, those students from different regions who entered the Heavenly Position Academy would initially be Xuan Character Disciples.

After six months of cultivation, these Xuan Character Disciples would undergo a major exam. Only those who passed the exam could advance to the next level. Those who failed had one more shot before the next batch of students arrived; failure to advance meant facing expulsion from the academy.

This meant that every year’s batch of Xuan Character Disciples represented the new students.

About seven and a half minutes later, Ling Feng, holding his numbered token, arrived at the second round of testing.

The second round of assessment was the ”True Qi Attribute” test.
