Chaos Heavenly Emperor Technique

Chapter 197: Chapter 197: The Mad ”Alchemy Genius”!

The night was as dark as ink, and under the dim moonlight, a swift figure crossed over half of the Heavenly Position Academy from the Yellow Character Disciple’s residential area, directly entering the most core area.

This place was where the dean and vice deans meditated in seclusion.

Yan Cangtian’s status was enough to rival the dean’s, and he naturally had his own independent courtyard here.

Moreover, because of his passion for Alchemy, his residence was surrounded by a vast medicine field, far from where others lived, making it particularly serene and quiet.

Finally, Yan Cangtian stopped outside a courtyard and chuckled, ”Kid, we’ve arrived!”

Ling Feng had been brought here at an astonishing speed by Yan Cangtian and almost vomited out his bile. Abruptly let go by Yan Cangtian, he felt the world spinning and clumsily grabbed onto a nearby stone pillar, gasping heavily, his face pale.

This old madman!

No wonder Ye Guichen had warned him to stay away from him.

”Yo, you’re not too bad, kid, managing to stand firm like this!” Yan Cangtian saw that Ling Feng managed to hold onto the stone pillar and chuckled, ”Little guy, I had quite a hard time finding you, only to learn you live in the Tianshu East Courtyard!”

Ling Feng gently pressed on his temples, pushing down the dizzy feeling, and asked sullenly, ”Senior, what do you want with me?”

”We only got halfway through our conversation last time, I still have many things to ask you!” Yan Cangtian became animated, ”Come on, come inside with me. I’m about to start refining the Hundred Herbs Elixir!”

”Refining elixirs?”

Ling Feng looked around, and the place didn’t resemble an academy but rather seemed like it was deep in the mountains, surrounded by medicine fields emitting various fragrances.

”Nice place!” Ling Feng couldn’t help but praise inwardly, there seemed to be a special Gathering Spirit Array here too, otherwise the ”pampered” exotic flowers and plants could not have grown here.

”Hehe, not bad, huh!” Yan Cangtian acted like a mischievous old child, pointing here and there, laughing heartily, ”All of these are the result of my decades of hard work! I’ve been painstakingly studying the Medicine King’s Scripture, and have completed all the missing parts. Now, I’m just missing the final experimental phase.”

”If I can truly complete the Medicine King’s Scripture and allow this extraordinary book to be passed on to future generations! Hehe, which Pill Master or physician under the heavens would dare to disrespect me, Yan Cangtian! Even the legendary Medical Saint Ling Hanyang wouldn’t have been as brilliantly clever as me!”

The happier and more excited Yan Cangtian talked, the more he grabbed Ling Feng’s arm, ”Come on, come with me!”

Ling Feng was dragged into the courtyard by Yan Cangtian, where various precious medicinal materials were haphazardly thrown around, with a casually discarded leaf in a corner potentially being part of a high-level Spirit Medicine.

”What a waste of heavenly resources!” Ling Feng felt a pang of distress, seeing so many spirit flowers and herbs carelessly discarded by Yan Cangtian!

This guy had truly become a mad demon of alchemy.

Under Yan Cangtian’s pulling, they entered a large hall to the left; in the center of the hall stood a man-high three-legged furnace. Besides that, there were rows of wooden shelves cluttered with various demon beast materials and spirit flowers and herbs.

Upon closer observation, one would notice that many materials were completely mixed up and misplaced. Although they appeared similar on the outside, their medicinal properties were vastly different.

”No wonder...”

Ling Feng suddenly understood why Yan Cangtian seemed somewhat mad and wild.

He must have eaten an elixir he had carelessly refined, which turned his brain into a mess.

”Kid, take a look at this first!”

Yan Cangtian tossed an ancient, yellowed book to Ling Feng. Ling Feng opened it and it was indeed the Medicine King’s Scripture, the dream book of every physician and Pill Master.

This ”Medicine King’s Scripture” was written thousands of years ago by an Alchemy Grandmaster with extraordinary talent, and it contains various medical theories and Alchemy Dao.

Ling Feng, as a physician, held this Medical Skill Treasure in his hands, his hands trembling with excitement.

He gently opened the book and saw that many parts of this ancient text had become very blurry due to the passage of time.

Next to the blank spaces, there were many guesses noted down, clearly written by Yan Cangtian.

Carefully flipping through a few pages, Ling Feng’s eyes flashed with surprise. This seemingly unreliable Old Madman was actually an Alchemy Genius!

Some of his insights even coincided unexpectedly with the content in the ”Supreme Mysterious Acupuncture Scripture” his grandfather had left him.

There were even many interpretations that Ling Feng felt ashamed to admit he could not match.

The more he read, the more fascinated he became, frequently nodding in agreement, and he began to develop a certain respect for Yan Cangtian.

Although this person was somewhat crazy, he definitely had a genuine passion for studying various Medical Scriptures; if his own grandfather had met him in the past, they probably would have become the best of friends.

”How about it, how about it, aren’t you completely floored by my profound insights!”

Yan Cangtian raised his head, a look of utmost pride on his face—these were the achievements of his many years of work. For these past several years, he had almost worn out all the medical books and Elixir Recipes within the Heavenly Position Academy.

”Indeed, these are very profound insights.” Ling Feng closed the ”Medicine King’s Scripture” and nodded, ”Senior’s understanding of Medical Skill and Alchemy Dao is truly second to none, I am no match!”

Yan Cangtian scoffed, ”Nonsense, you’re just a wet behind the ears kid, what’s so great about surpassing you!”

”Oh...” Ling Feng touched his nose, feeling the urge to throw out the ”Divine Country Imperial Physician” Token, but after some thought, he decided against it—provoking this ”Old Madman” when he was in one of his moods would be unwise.

Yan Cangtian snorted lightly again and said, ”I brought you here this time because I hope you can help me properly identify which one is exactly the golden velvet sunflower stem. My Hundred Herbs Elixir is just missing this one herb!”

”So that’s it.” Ling Feng smiled lightly, ”Which roots has senior identified as suspects?”

”Come with me.” Yan Cangtian rubbed his hands, buoyed by Ling Feng’s praises, feeling light and breezy, and he lead Ling Feng to a stone platform at the back, ”Here, these are the six types of roots I have selected that might be golden velvet sunflower stems, hard to identify, right?”

Ling Feng looked at a wooden tray and saw six plant roots placed on it, which indeed all looked somewhat similar; however, this kind of distinction could not possibly be mistaken by a slightly experienced physician or Pill Master.

Moreover, what rendered Ling Feng speechless was that none of these six roots was the golden velvet sunflower stem that Yan Cangtian needed.

”Senior... you got it completely wrong.”

Ling Feng shook his head, ”None of these are golden velvet sunflower stems. In fact, there are several golden velvet sunflowers growing on the south side of your Medicine Field...”

”Impossible!” Yan Cangtian furrowed his brows, ”Kid, you better not be spouting nonsense to fool me!”

Ling Feng smiled lightly, he had already figured out where Yan Cangtian’s problem lay—the old man was theoretically unbeatable, but when it came to identifying herbs, he was practically blind.

”If senior does not believe it, how about this? Just now, I saw the completed Hundred Herbs Elixir Recipe that senior filled out, and it seems correct to me. Let’s try it—let’s refine the Hundred Herbs Elixir together and see who can successfully refine it.”

”Oh? You want to have a competition with me? Interesting!” Yan Cangtian chuckled, those who he previously captured for testing drugs were either trembling with fear, begging him to spare them; or some would flatter him endlessly; occasionally, there were some tough ones who would rather die than consume his Elixirs.

But someone like Ling Feng who wanted to compete in Alchemy with him was indeed the
