Chaos Heavenly Emperor Technique

Chapter 168: Chapter 168: Heart Refining Lock!

...

An hour later.

”Brilliant! A brilliant secret technique! The creation of a genius!”

Ling Feng clicked his tongue in admiration, feeling that the creator of this secret technique must definitely be a genius!

Of course, the reason why the robed elder could create the ”Qi Refining Mixed Element Lock” was also due to his own extraordinarily high realm of perception. Without that realm of perception, an ordinary person would never be able to invent such a cultivation technique.

”Humph humph!” The robed elder’s mouth curved into a slight smile, obviously very pleased with Ling Feng’s admiration.

Ling Feng slowly opened his eyes, took a deep breath, ”So, this is Qi Refining.”

The so-called Qi Refining, as the name implies, is the refining of True Qi.

The robed elder’s idea was to implant eighteen Mixed Element Locks within the body, using them to lock in True Qi, thereby tempering the cultivator’s True Qi, forcing it to undergo endless compression.

Those who cultivate the ”Qi Refining Mixed Element Lock” will refine and temper their True Qi under compression, and once in actual combat, when they open the Mixed Element Locks inside their bodies, they can suddenly unleash multiple times their strength.

This is similar to how some people train to run with sandbags tied to their legs; once the sandbags are untied, they feel as light as a feather.

This ”Qi Refining Mixed Element Lock” compresses the martial artist’s True Qi within their body, so during normal cultivation, whenever they mobilize their True Qi, it will be many times more taxing, and also because the True Qi is sealed, their usual strength will be greatly diminished.

At first, it might be quite uncomfortable, but once accustomed, they will reach their original state in normal times, and when the Mixed Element Locks are released, the power that bursts forth will increase by multiple folds!

Ling Feng narrowed his eyes, deeply impressed in his heart.

”How is it?” The robed elder narrowed his eyes and smiled, ”Have you discovered the heaven-defying aspect of this secret technique?”

”Yes, heaven-defying, absolutely heaven-defying!” Ling Feng looked at the robed elder and nodded emphatically.

Not just heaven-defying but also a perfect tool for feigning weakness while possessing great strength. When the Primordial Chaos Lock is closed, since the True Qi is sealed, the aura will naturally be suppressed as well; someone at the Qi Condensation Ten Layers would appear like they were at the Qi Condensation First Layer. The aura of Magnetic Condensation Experts would also be suppressed to the level of the Qi Condensation Realm.

”Your comprehension is not bad, there are not many who can grasp the subtleties so quickly.”

The robed elder had a slight smile, ”Since you’ve already understood the principle, then, brace yourself mentally.”

”Mental preparation?” Ling Feng saw the robed elder’s mischievous smile and knew that what was to come would definitely not be pleasant.

Otherwise, why would nine-tenths of the people who came before have died, and one-tenth have gone mad, a total annihilation.

”Next, Your Majesty will implant the Mixed Element Lock into your body. When this Mixed Element Lock enters your body, it will feel like a giant stone weighing thousands of pounds pressing down on your meridians, that sensation, heh heh, you’ll understand once you experience it.”

”Bring it on.” Ling Feng took a deep breath, the feeling of being worse than dead; he had not been without such experiences.

”Courageous!”

The robed elder waved his hand, and the scene before them returned to that floating platform.

”I have to say the ugly words up front, once you start to accept this Mixed Element Lock, there is no turning back, either you succeed, or you die!”

As he said the last word, the robed elder’s tone became much more severe.

Clearly, he was not trying to intimidate Ling Feng.

”Come on!”

Ling Feng did not hesitate in the slightest, he was well aware of the power of the ”Qi Refining Mixed Element Lock,” so why not practice it?

The Third Elder from the Jia Family of Hanwu County had forced him into such a desperate situation, as long as he mastered this cultivation technique, Ling Feng was confident he could slay his way to the Jia Family in a short period of time, making that old codger regret messing with him!

The robed elder glanced at Ling Feng, nodded slightly, and with a sweep of his large sleeve, a needle-like ”Mixed Element Lock” appeared in the palm of his hand.

The process of implanting the Mixed Element Lock into the body was also the process of stabbing this needle into one’s major acupoints, then transforming it into a lock of True Qi that seals off the entire meridian.

”Ready?”

”Ready!” Ling Feng clenched his fists, his forehead breaking out in a slight sweat.

Seeing such a thick needle, it was impossible not to be a little nervous.

”Go!”

The robed elder stretched out his hand and slapped, the first Mixed Element Lock directly inserted into Ling Feng’s heart meridian.

Once the Mixed Element Lock entered the body, it immediately transformed into a flowing mass of True Qi, locking down all the major meridians near Ling Feng’s heart firmly in place.

Thud, thud!

His heart pounded heavily within his chest, and Ling Feng felt as though he couldn’t catch his breath, as if he was about to pass out.

”Boom!”

Ling Feng’s body hit the ground hard, not only was his heart heavy, but every part of his body, even down to a single finger, had become unbearably heavy.

And his heart, due to the immense burden, beat very slowly. It wasn’t long before Ling Feng’s face turned a shade of purplish red, struggling to breathe.

Death seemed almost at hand!

Ling Feng had begun to hallucinate, as if he saw a figure wielding a scythe—the Grim Reaper—approaching him step by step, getting closer and closer...

The gray-robed elder, the former Sky White Saint Emperor, squinted his eyes, watching Ling Feng on the ground and murmured to himself.

”The first Mixed Element Lock is known as the Primordial Chaos Heart Refining Lock. Although it’s not the most overbearing Mixed Element Lock, it is the most difficult one to endure. Boy, if you can withstand this lock, the ones following it will be a bit easier.”

Of course, Ling Feng couldn’t hear a word of this.

At that moment, Ling Feng lay sprawled on the ground, his pupils slowly dilating.

Drenched in sweat, panting ceaselessly, yet still gasping for air!

The sensation of every organ—heart, liver, spleen, lungs, kidneys—being squeezed was almost suffocating.

Ling Feng had never imagined there could be such excruciating pain in the world.

He tried to activate the True Qi within his body to resist the pressure of the Mixed Element Lock but found that because of the lock, his True Qi was scattered and even drawing breath was extremely difficult.

His back felt as though a mountain was pressing down on it, rendering him immobile.

He now understood why all those who had received the inheritance had died. If this continued, he would die as well!

The gray-robed elder sighed lightly. ”Alas, in the past, a few guys managed to endure the first hurdle by cultivating some Body Refining Techniques, but they still couldn’t handle it and went mad. This kid, I’m afraid...”

Seeing Ling Feng’s reaction, the gray-robed elder shook his head, his heart filling with disappointment.

”It seems that my inheritance is destined to be lost after all!”

It was precisely because he understood the drawbacks of the ”Qi Refining Mixed Element Lock” that he dared not pass this technique on to his own descendants.

Otherwise, just by cultivating this technique, the Royal Family of the Sky White Sacred Dynasty would probably face extinction.

Suddenly, the gray-robed elder’s expression changed, and he looked at Ling Feng lying on the ground with surprise, discovering that the young man was radiating an incomparably strong belief!

”I cannot die!”

”I absolutely cannot die!”

”I still need to save my grandfather, I still have to uncover the truth of my origins...”

Inside him, a mysterious force seemed to awaken, turning into an endless roar that thundered across the Nine Heavens!

”AAAAAAH!”

Ling Feng’s eyes flared as if they were ablaze with Fiery Flames.

”I cannot die!”

”I absolutely cannot!”

Agony and immense pressure, that torturous ordeal, was like a tidal wave, one wave after another, sweeping over him in madness. Yet, gradually, Ling Feng began to adapt to this excruciating pain, and with his tenacious will, he stirred the fragmented True Qi within his body to resist the oppression of the Mixed Element Lock.

...

A full day and night passed, and Ling Feng went through an indescribable torment.

Struggling, desperately struggling.

Finally, in one moment, the Devil Claw that seemed to grasp his heart suddenly vanished, and his breathing slowly returned to normal. Although still extremely difficult, it began to flow more smoothly.

The intense pain gradually subsided, and under the pressure of the Mixed Element Lock, the True Qi inside him began to gather, although faint, it flowed through every meridian in his body, making him feel exceedingly... relieved!

Ling Feng lay on the ground, his clothes soaked with sweat, nearly lacking the strength to even open his eyes, as if even the luxury of uninhibited breathing was too extravagant.

He began to relish the feeling of having survived a calamity!
