Chaos Devourer System: My Classless Ascension

Chapter 407: Chapter 405:Awake

Within the endless expanse of Devouring’s domain.

Devouring Chaos had fallen into a state of stasis.

She was excited and elated about her child. She had enjoyed every moment spent with him. But she couldn’t ignore it any longer.

The weakness that came with losing her very origin, the thing that made her who she was, wasn’t something to shrug off easily, even for a being such as her.

”Haaa... I may finally need to actually put my origin to proper use. I’ll borrow it back from the little one and take one of the others’ own. Hmm... I wonder who would be a good candidate,” she thought offhandedly.

”Wait... what if I...” The spark of her brilliant idea was instantly shut down as...

Hummmmm!!!!

A low humming sound filled her entire domain.

”Sound?” Her eyes, if they could be called that, opened slowly, and then...

”Heh. It’s you,” she scoffed.

”Little Devouring. Have you considered my offer yet?”

”Piss off, you disgusting thing. Your offer means nothing to me.”

”Do not make me use force, Little Devouring.”

”Eldritch Chaos. While I am still being nice, do not place yourself as food, for I am quite honestly very famished.” Her words made the being that had appeared within her domain go silent.

The expanse returned to its stasis as...

”I guess the hard way it is then,” the being, Eldritch Chaos, finally answered.

Before Devouring Chaos could understand what he was talking about...

WENG! WENG! WENG!!

Multiple presences were felt infiltrating her domain.

”What is this?” She didn’t seem particularly concerned about what was happening, as her tone merely held a note of curiosity.

”This, O Devouring, is what happens when you refuse my good hand,” Eldritch Chaos replied as his being exploded and an unfathomable creature took its place.

It looked like something that would have been the birth of the entire concept of nightmares. Its size was not one to be quantifiable, as it seemed to carry all of existence within its being.

And he wasn’t the only one.

All around the domain, multiple beings of such caliber had manifested.

One looked like contradiction taken form.

Another looked like it was and will forever be one.

Another looked like it was and will forever be many.

...

...

It was madness. If one were to gaze upon any of these beings, that would be their fate, madness.

Unity. Individuality. Paradox. Void....

One by one, Devouring called out the names of the beings surrounding her.

”So this is what you cowards had finally decided upon?” Her massive being slowly lit up.

Her radiance was one that seemed to overshadow even the most brilliant of her attackers.

”O Devouring, you merely have something we need to attain freedom. It is not personal.”

”Heh! So that old bastard is in one of his moods, huh?” Devouring mused. The beings recoiled as they thought of who she was addressing.

”No matter. I do not need any help in taking care of rabble. And I had just thought of the perfect experiment, so thank you for making my work easier.” The moment she finished speaking, they felt it.

Their origins trembled before her decree even came.

”It’s starting...” The voice of Individuality echoed through the place like one of an infinite number of beings speaking through it.

And then...

”I am Devouring Chaos. All has been mine. All is mine. And all will forever be mine, so...

... DEVOUR...”

Huuuuummmmmmmm!!!!!!

The entire expanse trembled and shook as even the concept of lacking was... devoured.

The beings that had arrived immediately made their moves.

Eldritch shone a sickening dark light as multiple horrors were birthed from its being.

Individuality blinked and all the horrors birthed from Eldritch began multiplying, each with a different aspect dissimilar to what Eldritch had birthed them with.

Unity shone and the infinitely multiplying horrors immediately converged once more, as

GRWWWWAAAAAAAAA!!!

A sound unlike any other echoed through her entire expanse.

”Go!” Eldritch commanded as the horror birthed from the combined efforts of three beings of chaos launched itself toward Devouring.

Yet before it could so much as make any waves...

CHOMP!!!

Its entire being was crushed to bits by an invisible wave of energy.

”You’ll need to do better than that. If you believe my current weakened state to be to your advantage, then you’re sorely mistaken. For even with mere remnants of my origin, I can still feast on the likes of you...” Her words made the already grim beings turn even more vigilant.

They were older than her. They had had more existence under their belts, but she was an anomaly even by their standards.

Her origin made her a menace. And now, they were starting to see just how much of one she could be when unhinged.

The entire expanse shook and trembled. The concepts shouldn’t have existed. But when multiple beings of chaos existed within one space, the impossible was made possible.

Eldritch didn’t relent. He kept spawning an endless stream of horrors. Individuality split them even further, while Unity recombined them into something words really couldn’t quite capture.

Devouring tried. Truly. But with Eldritch, Unity, and Individuality joining hands, even she was having it tough, especially in her weakened state.

Add to that the fact that Paradox was messing with the effectiveness of her origin, Void was causing most of the ones that got through to be Null, and then Emptiness was just being what it was, Emptiness.

Even in her prime, she would have needed to take this extremely seriously, but now in her weakened state, it was even worse.

”MOTHER!!!” An angry bellow exploded through the expanse as Dante made his appearance.

”No...” Devouring faltered instantly.

”You...” Eldritch’s attention was immediately drawn toward the young chaos, and then, ”I see,” he muttered.

”Forget Little Devouring. She’s useless. Take the fledgling.” His orders flew out as he took the first move.

Dante was already about to act, his origin of denial stirred, yet before he could make a move,

”Little fledgling... show me your worst fears...” Eldritch’s voice came like a whisper from the damned.

Dante’s origin shook violently as his stirring power was snuffed out. A wave of existential crisis overcame him as he staggered backward.

”NO!!” Shaia screamed as she covered Dante in her essence, Absence wishing to drive away the fear, but, ”O daughter of Nothingness, courage is not the absence of fear. And he does not have courage, not before me.” At the words of Eldritch, Shaia’s powers faltered and Dante was once more plunged into absolute fear.

His frame trembled, but his origin still refused to lay low.

Denial surged forth as one truth entrenched itself within him.

”Even fear can be refused!”

Hummmm!!!!

A wave of utter majesty washed through him as he resisted Eldritch, but...

”Tell me, fledgling, do you know who you are?” Individuality’s voice echoed through his entire being as his newly attained clarity shattered. The existential crisis returned even harder as he slowly began losing himself.

”Dante!!!” Shaia yelled out in fright, her absence failing outright to stop them.

Dante was powerful. Truly, the origin of denial was one that was destined to be up there alongside devouring. But he was young. Truly too young. For when placed in the presence of beings that have had eternity to perfect their powers, he could only fall short.

And it only went from bad to worse when a presence Devouring never expected made itself known.

”This battle’s outcome has been decided.” The judicial voice of Finality echoed like the proverbial nail in Dante’s coffin as he was slowly covered by the essence of finality.

”You. Will. Not. Touch. My. CHILD!!!!” Devouring snapped.

Channeling the very last vestiges of her remaining power, she let it all go...

”DEVOUR!!! TAKE IT ALL!!!”

The infinite horrors.

The essence of finality.

It was all devoured in one fell swoop.

But that wasn’t all.

”Emptiness!!!” Eldritch roared out in dismay as Devouring took the origin of Emptiness, erased its being, then channeled the origin toward her falling son.

”Shaia!!!” She called out, and then...

Wap!!

Shaia’s essence flared as she hugged Dante. The both of them becoming unseen. Unfelt. Untraced. Absent.

”NOOOO!!!!”

”FIND HIM!! WE CANNOT LET THE ORIGIN OF DEVOURING ELUDE US!!” The beings roared out in fury, yet before they could make any moves,

”I had planned to give this as a proper gift to my son, but you cowards leave me no choice.” The hard voice of Devouring filled the entire expanse as...

WENG!!!!

Her being lit up the entire expanse...

”Huh... huh...” Dante slowly came to, and the first thing he saw was his mother lighting up infinity.

”Mother?”

”My son... it seems my gift will have to come prematurely.” Her tender voice echoed through his very being.

”Mother??”

”I will be leaving you for a while now, my child...”

”Mother... no...”

”Be not saddened, my child...”

Her light grew brighter and brighter. The beings around her rushing forth, but they were too late...

BANG!!!!!!!!! An explosion that rocked infinity signified the birth of a brand-new creation, but,

”No! No! Mother!! No!!!” Dante squirmed as Shaia held him down tightly...

”My child...”

”No! No! No!!!”

”I will always...”

”Mother!! No!! Mother!! Don’t go! Don’t leave!!!”

”Be with you, no matter what...”

”Please... no!! Mother!!!” A foreign feeling gripped the young chaos’s entire being as warm tears bathed his entire features, a very human thing for the eternal being.

”Take care of yourself, my sweet...

... Dante...”

”Mother!! No!! No!! No!!”

”MOTHERRRRR!!!!!!!”

He snapped awake instantly.

”Haa... Haa... Haa...” His breathing came out hot and labored, his skin drenched completely as his body trembled.

”Wha...” Before he could spiral further into confusion—

[Ding]

A soft ding sounded in his ears, but this time it wasn’t accompanied by a mechanical voice, instead...

”Welcome back to the world of the living, my love.”

”Shaia?”

”I am here.”

The moment he heard those words, his composure broke as his hands went to his face, and then...

Tears...

”Shaia... Mother... she’s... she’s...” He couldn’t complete the words as his bravado fell and he cried.

”It is alright, my love. I am here...”

”All will be well, for finally...”

”... we are awake.”
