Chaos Devourer System: My Classless Ascension

Chapter 143: Chapter 142:Melissandre~~~

The entire crowd had gone silent as they regarded the group of four currently in a standoff..

The black ice wielder seemed to have a history with their red haired goddess and it all seemed to revolve around that white haired guy that they still couldn’t tell the status of at this point.

”So much drama and the ceremony isn’t even over yet..” a student murmured, attention focused on the ongoing standoff..

”I know right? I’m so glad I decided to come this time around” another chimed in..

......

Cara felt her burning insides, looked at the murderous Melissa and knew immediately that she wasn’t playing..

She didn’t know if the overseer was going to step in or not, but she wasn’t too keen on finding out, so, gathering the last bits of strength she had, she pulled herself up, her former subdued expression disappearing as she assumed that cold and regal look that seemed to drive Dante crazy.

She was done trying to explain things peacefully, if she was going to die, then she wasn’t dying on her knees EVER!!

”Believe it or not...” she paused, gathering her strength, enduring the unholy pain..

”It was all indeed a misunderstanding”

”I did all I did because I thought I was protecting Dante” at this point, a soundless barrier had surrounded the group of four..

Melissa spared her friend a glance.

”What? I don’t think you guys would want such a conversation to be overheard by nobodies right?” Kaila shrugged casually..

”Thank you, ms?” Cara said gratefully, not willing for strangers to hear what she did to her lover, she was glad to be spared the shame..

”It’s Kaila, you can drop the ”ms” don’t make me feel old, I’m only a few years older than you” Kaila smiled amicably..

”Get on with it, in case you haven’t figured it out, you don’t have much time left” Melissa’s cold voice cut their conversation short..

”Like I said, all I did was because I thought I was protecting Dante....” Cara went on to explain all she’d done, the deal she’d made, how it all spiraled to her breaking up with Dante and why she’d treated him like that..

Melissa merely listened without saying a word..

”And that’s how we ended up back together”.. Cara concluded as silence returned to the clearing..

Kaila brought down the barrier after sensing that the explanations were over..

”And you expect me to believe all that?” Cara questioned coldly..

”I expect you to believe in Dante’s judgment, unless you want me to believe you doubt the judgment of the man you love..” Cara’s words made Melissa’s eyes go frigid..

”Blerghhhhh!!” She immediately puked up copious amounts of blood mixed with fragments of her organs..

”Do not speak words you’re not ready to bear the consequences of” her frigid voice made even her friends that were quite familiar with this version of the Flaming Tyrant shiver..

”Heh.. I’ve already said what I needed to, it’s left to you for what you wish to believe in” Cara merely smiled, unwilling to go out without any pride..

Melissa’s eyes narrowed in displeasure, she didn’t like that haughty look on that despicable face, but if the infuriating woman was right, then harming her would only upset her Dante..

So, ”I’ll be watching you closely” she retracted her aura and Cara was finally able to breathe...

”Thank you..” she muttered softly as she tried to regain her breath..

”Well, wasn’t that nice? Nothing a little talking couldn’t smoothen out..hahahaha” a boisterous laugh broke everyone’s attention from the standoff as their eyes shot to the skies.

There, seating casually on a long golden halberd that was slowly descending, was the white haired young man, his shirt seemed to have been tossed somewhere as his glorious torso was on full display.

The chiseled lines of his carved statuesque muscles were an instant source of attraction to every woman on the ground, the way his white hair tousled with the wind, the radiant glow of his glorious tan making him look like a divine being descending onto the mortal plane.

He landed safely and both Melissa and Cara couldn’t seem to pull their gazes away, drool almost falling out their wide open mouths..

....

After pulling myself out of the numerous buildings I’d had the unfortunate opportunity to get intimate with, I immediately made a beeline for the plaza, I knew for certain that if I wasn’t there to mediate, then there was a 95% chance I would still be losing Cara today... Permanently.

The moment I appeared above the plaza, I caught sight of the ongoing standoff between Cara and Melissa, yet before I could intervene, the contents of their conversation reached my ears through the wind..

”It was all a misunderstanding, Mel, I swear it on my life”

”Cara, pleading, that was something I thought I’d never see, she must really want that forgiveness huh?” I couldn’t help muttering..

”I’m sure Dante, that foolish guy, would believe that since he’s...well....head over heels infatuated with you” Melissa’s reply came soon after..

”Ouch.. Mel, that hurt alright... though I can’t say you’re completely wrong” I sighed wryly, my women were definitely going to be the end of me..

”Believe it or not.... It was all a misunderstanding.”

After being shutdown and given an ultimatum by Melissa, Cara seemed to have finally given up on pleading any case, I watched as she stood up, the panic disappeared from her face, being replaced by that cold and regal expression that always tickled some things within me..

So there I sat comfortably on elira as I passed my gaze between the two amazing women currently in a standoff below, all because they cared immensely for me and I couldn’t help but think..

”I’m truly a blessed and lucky man”...

So, I listened as they went back and forth.

Well, it wasn’t much of a back forth, mostly just Cara giving her side of things as she tried to make Melissa understand that turning her into sludge would be counterproductive..

To say I wasn’t nervous would be a lie, because there wouldn’t be a winner here should anything happen to Cara, I wouldn’t be able to bring myself to ever hate Melissa, yet I wouldn’t be able to bring myself to ever forget Cara or forgive the one who took her from me, so I was hoping badly for a miracle.

And it seemed lady fate had fallen for me as well as.

”I’ll be watching you closely” Melissa finally relented, retrieving her dreadful aura and Cara was finally able to breathe...

”Thank you”.

Seeing that the confrontation had finally ended, I couldn’t stop the happy feeling that bubbled up from within me as I began my descent..

”Well, wasn’t that nice? Nothing a little talking couldn’t smoothen out..hahahaha”

My laughter continued and only subsided as I landed softly before the two stunning beauties, their stunned and slack jawed expressions satisfying my ego IMMENSELY..

”Let’s try this again shall we?” My voice seemed to break them out of their trance as Melissa blushed yet Cara remained natural, the shameless little seductress that she was..

”Hello~~~~ Melissandre.... Did you miss me...” I drawled, amusement thick in my voice.

And my amusement only increased exponentially when Melissa’s face froze in absolute shock..

”H..h..h..how..d..do..you..kn..know...that name” her stuttering and flustered behavior made it hard to hold back, so I didn’t..

”HAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHA”

It was good to be alive indeed...
