Wizard: I Add Points and Hunt Monsters

Bolsen stared at the corpse on the ground. After a moment of silence, he asked softly, ”Aren’t you going to eat it?”

”Too old. It’d get stuck in my teeth.”

”So you prefer them tender?”

”It’s not like you eat them whether they’re tender or not,” the Abyssal Creature said, glancing in the direction of Clelia’s true body. ”Are you sure you’re not going to give chase? She... she should be quite delectable.”

”My mission is to guard this place.”

”Fine by me. I can’t be bothered to move either.”

With that, it slowly crouched down and receded into Bolsen’s body. ”Don’t call me unless it’s important. I’m tired.”

”Alright.” Bolsen waved his hand, and the corpse on the ground vanished.

As it happened, he was feeling tired too...

Meanwhile, Clelia returned to her true body.

’What in the world is that monster?’

She wiped the blood trickling from the corner of her mouth. ’That Abyssal Creature’s attack could actually wound my very essence?’

’This isn’t fun anymore.’

’I’ll have to find someone and ask about this. With a monster like that in the Caster City State, their sacrifice might actually go off without a hitch...’

’How incredibly infuriating.’

...

...

DONG, DONG DONG DONG...

Magnificent, resounding bells chimed throughout the Caster City State. Many followers of the Dawn Church stopped what they were doing and whispered piously, ”Praise the Dawn.”

The faint murmurs of countless people rose at the same time, echoing throughout the city-state.

”Praise the Storm!”

”Praise the Storm, you damned followers of the Dawn Church!”

”...”

In the Basil District, countless followers of the Storm Church, who made their living on the Cordo Sea, were enraged by the bells. They began shouting madly, trying to drown out the sound they so despised.

This happened almost every day.

As long as the bells of Krimms Cathedral rang, the reality of Dawn and Storm coexisting in the Caster City State would remain unchanged.

After getting out of bed, Wei’en still felt groggy.

’I used up too much Spiritual Power last night...’

If it weren’t for the Enlightenment Potion, he would have thrown in the towel long ago.

He changed his clothes and opened the bedroom door to find the white-haired girl standing quietly outside. ”Good morning, Tina.”

”Tina, good morning.”

Wei’en patted her head, then took her hand and led her downstairs. ”Let’s get some breakfast first.”

”Tina, eat.”

Tina felt nothing out of the ordinary about being in this house. She just knew to grip her clown doll tightly and follow him downstairs for breakfast.

If Wei’en could see the Demon Clown’s expression right now, he would be overjoyed.

The clown: *Sob sob sob...*

”Are the materials all gone?”

Wei’en glanced into the workshop and froze for a second when he saw the bullets stacked neatly beside the drill press.

All 650 bullets. It would have taken him ten hours to make that many.

Yet Zero and the others had finished in just over five hours.

”Mm-hmm.” Shawa nodded. ”Zero is very fast.”

”Is that right?”

Wei’en looked at Zero, who was scratching his head shyly. ”Nice work. You’ll be my best helper from now on.”

”Really?”

”Of course. Not just for making bullets, but for fighting, too.”

”That’s great! I learned a lot from Sister Shawa yesterday.” Zero raised his massive iron fist and thumped it against his chest plate, making a THUMP THUMP sound.

”So, the key is for you to develop your skills first.” Wei’en patted his arm. ”Keep at it.”

”I’ll work hard, Father.”

Wei’en was looking forward to it, too. He believed that once Zero was fully developed, he wouldn’t have to scramble to dodge tentacle attacks like he did last night.

’I wonder how much of a beating Zero’s armor can take... When I get to the Secret Investigation Department later, I’ll have him spar with Lisi and the others to test it out.’

He then went to the kitchen, prepared some food, and enjoyed a delicious breakfast with Tina.

”Is there anything you’d particularly like to eat? Next time, I’ll make it for you.”

”Tina eats. Okay.”

”Anything is okay?”

Wei’en asked pensively, ”You can’t taste anything, can you?”

”Tina doesn’t know.” The white-haired girl’s face was blank as she mechanically sipped her snow mushroom soup with a small spoon.

’She really doesn’t know...’

”Is it because of this?” Wei’en asked, pointing to the clown doll.

”Tina, no.”

’Is that so...’

’Then she was born this way. How troublesome.’

After breakfast, Wei’en checked his weapons and gear, loading each gun with bullets.

He was particularly eager to test the power of the sniper rifle he had imbued with the death attribute.

Wei’en raised the sniper rifle, aiming idly out the window.

He extended the spiritual sense he had just learned. ’One hundred meters, one thousand, two thousand... Is my maximum range 2,500 meters?’

Unlike his previously crude attempts, after the system panel’s reminder, Wei’en’s use of his spiritual sense was now far more refined. He could even sketch out the physical appearances of pedestrians beyond his maximum range in his mind.

’So this is a spiritual sense scan?’

’It seems to be just a method of remote detection...’

’No, that’s not all. Compared to naked-eye observation, the spiritual scan can more clearly predict a person’s path of movement.’

Wei’en tried to predict the movements of everyone he could sense.

’Turn, step back, walk forward a few paces... This ability is really useful, much more convenient than predicting movement through a scope.’

’The only downside is that my current perception range is too short.’

’A high-quality rifle scope can make out a figure from five kilometers away.’

Wei’en put the shotgun and sniper rifle into his Space Ring, leaving only the standard-issue firearm in the holster at his waist. He checked his reflection in the mirror.

’I look more like a common Extraordinary than a Wizard like this...’

’He remembered the Mr. Shadow he’d killed. Wasn’t he holding a cane?’

’Maybe I should get a cane for myself. It would probably enhance the effects of some of my Magic.’

At this thought, Wei’en took Tina’s hand and left the house, recalling Zero into the Mechanical Gate to take him to work.

”Huh? Tina? Weren’t you with Lisi...?”

The white-haired girl glanced at Kali, then turned away coldly. ”Tina dislikes.”

”...”

The smile on Kali’s face froze. ’She’s not cute at all...’

”Good morning, Wei’en. Off to work?”

Yuan greeted them from nearby. He didn’t pay any mind to Kali’s mood, assuming it was just two little girls having a spat.

”Yeah, it’s almost time.”

”Then please look after Kali for me. She didn’t come home the night before last, and it scared me half to death.”

Kali whined, ”...Father, I’m already a grown-up.”

”That doesn’t stop me from worrying about you,” Yuan said, patting her shoulder. ”Don’t put too much pressure on yourself. The Dawn Church has more than one Saintess Candidate, and there are even several Saintesses...”

”That just means I have to work even harder!”

”Hmph.”

Wei’en watched their close interaction with a pang of envy. ’In this world, there’s no one who cares for me the way Yuan cares for her...’

’Well, except for my Summoned Creatures and Zero.’

”Alright, be careful on your way.”

”Goodbye.”

Watching the girls standing on Wei’en’s left and right, Yuan couldn’t help but smirk.

’Back when I was young, I had my fair share of fine ladies around me, too...’

’Hm?’

’Bah, Kali isn’t like those girls.’

...

...

The walk was silent. ”Sandwiched” between the two of them, Wei’en had no idea what to talk about.

If he spoke to Kali, Tina, on his other side, would start swinging her clown doll around as if she wanted to fling it right in Kali’s face.

’And there didn’t seem to be anything to talk about with Tina... The clown would just overhear everything...’

At the entrance to the Secret Investigation Department, the sight of Marco and Lydia holding hands intimately made him even more envious.

”Good morning, Captain Lisi.”

”You’re just in time,”

Lisi pointed to the parchment on her desk with a smile. ”Our department’s application to investigate the City-State Array has been approved by both the Council and the Noble Committee.”

’It was approved?’

Wei’en and Marco exchanged a look. ’That went smoothly?’
