Wizard: I Add Points and Hunt Monsters

”She’s a little shy around strangers.”

Seeing that Tina wasn’t speaking, Wei’en explained for her, ”I’ll see if Sister Kali is at the Secret Investigation Department when I get there.”

”I’ll leave it to you, then.”

”Okay, it’s about time. I should head to the Secret Investigation Department.”

”Goodbye.”

Watching Wei’en and Tina walk away, Yuan sighed as he thought about what was to come.

’I just hope Kali is safe at the Secret Investigation Department...’

...

...

”Morning, Marco.”

Wei’en led Tina into the office and saw Marco with his legs propped up on the desk, reading a newspaper.

”Morning.”

”Have Lisi and Kali not arrived yet?”

”We’ll probably have to wait a bit longer,” Marco said mournfully, half his face peering out from behind the newspaper. ”Wei’en, you really shouldn’t have abandoned me yesterday...”

PFFT.

Wei’en couldn’t help but laugh when he saw the black and blue marks on Marco’s face and his swollen eyes.

”You’re still laughing...”

”Sorry, sorry. I didn’t expect Lisi to get there so fast, and I certainly didn’t expect you to be there at that moment.”

Marco sullenly lowered his newspaper. He looked at Tina, who was standing beside Wei’en, and said, ”If I’d known, I would have been nicer to Tina. With the contract, I wouldn’t have to go out with this face.”

”Hm? Well, how about now...”

”No, no,”

Marco quickly cut him off. ”I was just saying. Even though I’d have a powerful recovery ability, not being able to use my Extraordinary Bloodline would have me on edge all day.”

Wei’en was a little disappointed. ’I thought I could use this to get rid of the Demon Clown...’

CREAK.

Just then, the office door was pushed open.

Wei’en and Marco looked at the person who entered and saluted. ”Minister Yegor.”

”So Lisi really isn’t back? It seems the situation over there is indeed not looking good.” Yegor scanned the room with a cigar in his mouth, his gaze landing on Wei’en. ”Wei’en.”

”Minister, is there something you need us to do?” Wei’en asked, his expression shifting.

”Take Tina and go support Lisi and the others. The location is the northern part of Yidrisu District. They should still be there.”

”Understood.”

”Also, Marco...”

”Hm?”

”Your new partner is here. Make sure you two get along.” Yegor gave Marco a knowing smile and stepped aside to reveal the person behind him.

Marco’s mouth twitched when he saw who it was. ”...Lydia, you really came?”

”I already told you I was coming to the Secret Investigation Department. Of course I’d keep my promise.”

Lydia playfully stuck out her tongue before turning to Wei’en and Tina. She gave an elegant, noble-style bow. ”It’s a pleasure to meet you. I’m Lydia Ernst.”

”Wei’en. Wei’en Loft. And this is Tina.”

After introducing them, Wei’en caught a whiff of a familiar perfume on her and couldn’t help but shoot a mischievous smile at Marco.

’So she’s that lady from the Council hall... Small world.’

”Alright, that’s all for now. We’ll sort out the other arrangements after Lisi gets back.”

With that, Yegor lazily sauntered out of the office.

’Not bad. The logistics department has a new member, so we’ve gotten quite a bit stronger... Hmm, I probably won’t have to find a replacement for a good long while.’

”Marco, who beat you up so badly?”

Lydia placed her things on the desk next to Marco’s and couldn’t help but laugh at his face.

”Well...”

”Did you provoke some young lady again and get beaten up by her suitor?”

”Of course not,” Marco said, shooting Wei’en a desperate look. ’Help me out, man.’

”Hm?”

Seeing his predicament, Wei’en had no choice but to interject, ”Marco made a small mistake yesterday, and he ended up like this after a duel with Captain Lisi.”

He didn’t mention Nocturnal City, nor did he just make up a case.

’If I’d said that, the truth would come out once Lisi got back.’

’And blaming the injuries on a duel was better than saying Lisi just beat him up...’

”Sister Lisi? No wonder he looks like that.” Lydia’s eyes darted around, and she said with a grin, ”Marco, how about you take me to Natali District this afternoon?”

”Huh? Looking like this?”

”Hehe, think of it as a welcome to the Secret Investigation Department?”

”No way!”

”Then I’ll tell my brother that you...”

Ignoring their bickering, Wei’en gathered his things and led Tina out of the office.

’I wonder what kind of trouble Lisi and the others ran into... They’ve been gone all night and still aren’t back...’

PS: The ”eight hundred years” was just a beautiful misunderstanding. It doesn’t mean anything else, so don’t get any ideas...
