Wizard: I Add Points and Hunt Monsters

Once everyone had fallen silent, Tren swept her cool gaze over the crowd. Seeing that no one else was speaking, she continued, ”To achieve that duration, there’s a prerequisite: your Origin Power must be 100 or higher.”

”Only by meeting this minimum requirement is there a possibility of resisting the red moon’s pollution. Furthermore, this resistance demands that your own emotions show no fluctuations whatsoever.”

”100? That’s the peak of a Wizard, at least!”

This was the first time Nana Mage had heard such a thing. She asked, ”Tren, why is there such a discrepancy?”

”According to Master Boras’s speculation, it’s likely related to the qualitative level of one’s Origin Power.”

”Like how the qualitative level of a Dawn Saint’s Origin Power gives them extreme resistance to the red moon’s pollution?”

Tren nodded. ”Exactly. The qualitative level of the Dawn’s Faith Origin is just a notch below that of the red moon’s pollution. As for people like us...”

’Qualitative level?’

Wei’en understood now. If the qualitative level was insufficient, one needed a large enough quantity of Origin Power to resist the red moon’s polluting properties.

And if one’s own Origin Power had a qualitative level on par with the Dawn’s Faith Origin, then there would be no need to worry about the red moon’s pollution at all.

”I see, so that’s how it works.”

”Thank you for sharing, Tren Mage. And our thanks as well to Master Boras of the Ghost Soul School...”

”To think the red moon’s pollution had such a characteristic...”

”...”

Anyone capable of becoming an Official Mage possessed considerable talent and intelligence, so after a moment of thought, they all understood the implications of the research report.

They also knew what a massive stir the report’s contents would cause if they were leaked.

Nana looked at the buzzing crowd and reminded them, ”I’m sure you all understand how precious this research from the Ghost Soul School is. Please, try your best not to let it spread. Otherwise, if the Ghost Soul School decides to pursue the matter, it could cause trouble for Tren Mage.”

”Nana Mage is right! We’ll definitely keep it a secret!”

”Right, we absolutely can’t let this cause any problems for Tren Mage!”

Watching the Wizards, each one looking like they were about to pound their chest in guarantee, Wei’en had to resist the urge to roll his eyes. He didn’t believe a word of their promises.

’As if the contents of this report wouldn’t leak the second they left the tower.’

Still, he had to admit this research report on the red moon’s pollution was incredibly valuable.

For Wizards, the unknown was the most terrifying thing of all. Once they understood the full process of the red moon’s pollution and had a practical, feasible plan to resist it, even if the prerequisites were steep, it would still inspire other Wizards.

”We’ve held similar gatherings several times now. It’s my hope that today’s findings will encourage everyone to set aside their reservations and share some genuinely useful research of their own...”

Tren clearly didn’t believe the Wizards would actually keep the secret either. However, to ensure these gatherings could continue, she had no choice but to bring out knowledge that would pique everyone’s interest.

With that summary, she moved on to the main topic of the gathering.

”Mutated Mages. I trust none of you are strangers to them. They represent a path independent of the five great schools. The essence of this path is to fuse with the polluting properties of an aberration, thereby transforming oneself into a similar existence...”

Wei’en listened intently to the presentation. What other Wizards considered common knowledge was priceless information to him.

Meanwhile, Flanta, beside him, had eyes shining with excitement. Her body contorted strangely, as if she was moments away from pulling out a pen and paper to transcribe their every word.

”I’m sure you’re all familiar with the Wizard Rayli Doyle. In the Fourth Era, when he pioneered the path of the Mutated Mage, his ability to withstand greater levels of pollution quickly won him the acknowledgment of countless Wizards.”

”And according to some of our Ghost Soul School’s records, he fused with a death-type pollution. This is a type of pollution that is exceedingly rare in the current era.”

”It is said that only a few hidden followers of the Death Sect possess this characteristic...”

Holy shit,

’Death-type pollution is rare??’

Wei’en’s eyes widened. He had to stop himself from screaming at them to shut up. ’The very thing you think is so rare,’ he thought, ’is something I can mass-produce!’

”Therefore, the current recommendation from the various schools for aspiring Mutated Mages is that they should ideally choose to fuse with death-type pollution...”

”I’m sure you are all aware of this. Now, as for whether there are other mutative powers similar to death-type pollution, I invite you all to join the discussion...”

Wei’en: ”...”

Every word from Tren Mage, his supposed schoolmate from the Ghost Soul School, struck him right where it hurt...

’How the hell was he supposed to use his death-type abilities freely after this?’

’If other Wizards found out he possessed death-type pollution, wouldn’t they lock him up and exploit him for all he was worth?’

”I think there are also polluting powers with splitting properties. Like the Mutated Mage Gengaji Rod from the old era. Even if he suffered a fatal wound, he could be reborn through a polluted origin he had split off...”

”The growth potential of the splitting property isn’t very high...”

”I think we should consider the polluting properties of some Deep Sea Monsters...”

Wei’en was listening to the other Wizards discuss the polluting properties for Mutated Mages, all while pondering how to hide his own death-type abilities, when Flanta leaned in from beside him.

”His Excellency Faceless, will you be joining the discussion?”

”Hm? Can I choose not to?”

”Of course. After all, not every Wizard is interested in Mutated Mages, nor has every Wizard researched them...”
