Immortal of the Nine Realms

A flash of envy crossed Xing Xian’s eyes. ”A Day Walker....”

As a Yin Soldier, his long-cherished dream had always been to become a Day Walker, a divine being.

While Yin Soldiers held official positions, they could only enter the mortal realm by passing through the Lesser Underworld’s Yellow Springs. This process was a lot harder and limited when compared to Day Walkers.

Many years ago, before Monarch Yan passed away, nearly all the divine beings under his command were wiped out. Only the Yin Soldiers managed to survive, but even then, there was hardly anyone left. In the end, Xing Xian was about the last one standing.

Now, the reappearance of the Day Walkers in the Underworld signified that the order in the Greater Underworld was slowly recovering.

Fang Chen glanced at Ji Liang and smiled. ”Xing Xian, would you like me to give him an Imperial Order as well? That way, his trips to the Underworld will be more convenient.”

Xing Xian was momentarily stunned. He then gave a bitter smile. ”Monarch Yan, if the young master finds out he has become a Yin Soldier, it might affect his Dao heart.”

Ji Liang had expected to become Monarch Yan himself. If he found out he had been reduced to nothing but a Yin Soldier, his Dao heart would be unsettled, as would anyone’s.

Fang Chen nodded. ”Fine, I’ll give you some face.”

Had it not been for Xing Xian speaking up for Ji Liang, Fang Chen might have made him a Yin Soldier himself, ready to be summoned at any time.

”Monarch Yan, you mentioned Empress Ci earlier. Where is she currently located?” Stone Dragon asked with a smile.

”Jiangguang City,” Fang Chen replied.

Stone Dragon’s smile widened. ”Then let’s go. After we resolve this, we can send you back to the mortal realm, Monarch Yan.”

Jiangguang City, a fairly large city in the Greater Underworld, was usually bustling with numerous Yin Demons. That was especially the case with Empress Ci, a powerful Greater Yin Demon, overseeing it. However, the liveliness of the city had recently exploded.

Countless Yin Demons flocked there, eager to witness the downfall of Empress Ci, once a figure who had ruled with an iron fist and was feared by all.

At the top of the city walls, Empress Ci, naked and defeated, was nailed to the wall with a square halberd. Directly below her, in the city’s main gate, countless Yin Demons passing by could look up and see her disgraceful state.

Many Yin Demons who had once been oppressed by her gathered at the gates. They pointed at her and hurled insults, feeling resentment.

The venomous and humiliating words only made Empress Ci’s expression darker, as though her face would drip with venom.

”Look at that! That’s Empress Ci, the one who was always looking to marry herself off. She would wear bridal clothes and search for suitors. Anyone deceived by her would end up dead, their bones scattered. She was the most venomous woman. Who would’ve thought she’d end up like this? Truly, the heavens repay her wickedness!”

”My father was once about to break through to become a Greater Yin Demon and rise to become a ruler. But because that wicked woman, Empress Ci, took an interest in him, my father was destroyed, his soul scattered. This wicked woman’s downfall is a sign that Monarch Yan is exacting justice!”

”Empress Ci, do you still remember me? You have done so much evil. Who would have thought you’d end up like this?”

”A bunch of ants.” Empress Ci suddenly let out a strange laugh. ”You little bugs, what are you clamoring for? I’m still here. I have not yet perished. You think that after I escape, I won’t make you all disappear into nothingness, souls shattered and obliterated?”

Her words immediately silenced the Yin Demons below.

However, after a few moments, one Yin Demon spat and muttered, ”Crazy woman, the Taiyin Dragon King and True Monarch of Pan Mountain are about to suppress you. How are you going to escape? You’re no match for either of them!”

”I never realized this before, but this crazy woman’s appearance is really top-notch. Although her Yin form is just paper, her skin is fairer than snow, soft and delicate. If I could taste this beauty, I wonder what it would be like.”

”Hey, you’re right. I didn’t notice it either, but now that you pointed it out, this crazy woman’s actually quite a beauty.”

Originally, the Yin Demons were merely mocking and insulting Empress Ci, but suddenly one Yin Demon’s remark shifted the tone.

The mood changed.

Insults came in one after another, like cold knives scraping bone. Empress Ci’s expression, once filled with darkness, disdain, and contempt, slowly twisted into anger and madness.

She had long forgotten what shame felt like. Since her death, as she descended into the Underworld and transformed into a Yin Demon, she had abandoned her human nature, clinging instead to an obsession that she had never released. It was that very obsession that had allowed her to rise from the chaos of the Underworld to become one of its most powerful beings.

However, these insults, which she had always viewed as the words of ants, were touching a part of her soul that she had long tried to bury. ”You all deserve to die! You all deserve to die!”

Empress Ci let out a roar from her throat, and red blood began to flow from her snow-white skin, attempting to form a bridal gown.

But as soon as the blood appeared, it was shattered by the Yin energy on the Heavenly Halberd.

This process repeated.

As Empress Ci roared in anger, the faintest trace of a sob escaped her.

In the distance, the True Monarch of Pan Mountain stood with his hands behind his back, his expression emotionless as he watched the scene unfold.

After a long silence, he finally spoke. ”Master, it seems she really doesn’t know the whereabouts of those two.”

A young man in black slowly walked over to stand next to True Monarch of Pan Mountain. He looked at Empress Ci, who was thrashing on the wall like a madwoman, with a mocking smile. ”What’s this? Are you feeling sorry for her?”

The True Monarch of Pan Mountain shook his head lightly. ”It’s not that I pity her, but such methods... are not what I would desire.”

”You should remember,” the young man in black said with a cold grin, ”you are merely a Dragon Slave. If you weren’t a Dragon Slave, how would you have come this far in the Underworld? Before becoming a Dragon Slave, you were just a worthless mortal. You owe everything you have today to me, do you understand?”

The black-clad youth smiled widely. ”There are many Dragon Slaves under the Taiyin Dragon King. If you don’t wish to continue working under me, just say the word, and I’ll find someone else.”

True Monarch of Pan Mountain’s expression changed slightly, and he bowed slightly. ”Please calm your anger, Master.”

The Taiyin Dragon King smirked. ”Calm my anger? You just need to bring me those two. Once you do, I’ll calm down. Monarch Yan’s inheritance... Just thinking that someone is trying to take the inheritance under my very nose makes my heart ache, do you understand how painful that is for me?”

True Monarch of Pan Mountain lowered his head, not daring to speak further.

The Taiyin Dragon King was about to continue reprimanding when he suddenly noticed that the curses from the surrounding Yin creatures had gradually ceased. He frowned and looked in the direction of the silence.

He saw that the Yin creatures who had been cursing the loudest were now torn to pieces, their souls scattered.

Wherever Xing Xian passed, the souls of the Yin Demons lay in his wake.

Someone couldn’t help but yell, ”Who are you? Why are you attacking us for no reason?!”

Though they said this, they obediently stepped back, fear and anger flickering in their eyes as they stared at Xing Xian.

Seeing Xing Xian, Empress Ci’s face froze for a moment. She then went crazy, her face twisting with fury. ”You should die! You shouldn’t have come here! Leave! Leave!”

”I knew it. This move still works,” the Taiyin Dragon King chuckled, glancing at the True Monarch of Pan Mountain. ”Pan Mountain, you’d better not defy me again.”

True Monarch of Pan Mountain’s expression was strange. Has this Yin soldier really been drawn out?

The Taiyin Dragon King’s smug laugh filled the air as he transformed into a massive bone dragon, accompanied by an overwhelming storm of black clouds. He quickly soared above Jiangguang City, his ghostly green eyes fixed on Xing Xian. Just as he was about to speak, Xing Xian smiled at Empress Ci and said, ”Empress Ci, you’ve suffered. I come in the name of Monarch Yan to rescue you.”

Taiyin Dragon King’s smile instantly vanished without a trace. ”In the name of Monarch Yan?”

Empress Ci also revealed a look of shock.

Monarch Yan?

Has the plan succeeded?
