Immortal of the Nine Realms

Fang Chen smiled. ”I have caused trouble? What kind of trouble?”

Before Wen Fan could speak, Fang Chen had already left the bamboo building and walked up to the young man. The youth seemed still dazed, and it wasn’t until Fang Chen was close that he shakily stood up from the ground, his Yin energy slightly disordered, showing signs of collapse.

The youth took a deep breath, calming his chaotic Yin energy, and then looked at Fang Chen with repeated cold sneers. ”Good, very good.”

”A newborn calf truly doesn’t fear tigers. You just arrived in here and already dared to strike at a Yin Walker. Very well. In a moment, you’ll understand the consequences of attacking me. Let’s see who will dare to hire you in Youhuan City after this.”

Crack!

With a sharp sound, the youth was sent flying, flipping through the air several times before landing heavily on the ground. This time, he lay there for several breaths. Finally, he weakly supported himself up and stared at Fang Chen in shock.

The surrounding wandering souls watched in disbelief, whispering and trying to learn more about Fang Chen’s background.

”Hahaha.” The youth laughed in anger. ”I originally planned to spare your worthless life, but you don’t know how to appreciate it. No matter who comes today, it’s useless. You won’t escape. From now on, you’ll remain in Youhuan City as a lonely wandering soul!”

The youth’s Yin energy surged, and the black mist in the air gathered and condensed into a long sword. He then gripped the sword and slashed toward Fang Chen.

Wen Fan shouted in alarm, ”Be careful!”

The surrounding wandering souls looked on with envy. This was the power of Yin Walkers. They could easily manipulate Yin energy. As for the normal souls, it didn’t matter how powerful they had been during their life. As long as they didn’t have a cultivation method to practice after death, they couldn’t control Yin energy.

Moreover, Yin Walkers were never truly dead. When they acted, their Yin energy contained a trace of Yang power, which posed a significant threat to wandering souls and other Yin Walkers alike.

”Die!” roared the youth.

Seeing that Fang Chen was unresponsive, a malicious smile flashed in his eyes. As the blade was about to strike, Fang Chen casually raised his arm and firmly gripped the edge of the sword. He then gently squeezed.

Bang!

The long sword formed from Yin energy immediately dissipated.

The youth’s eyes widened in astonishment.

He shattered my Yin blade with his bare hands?! Only those who have undergone the soul-crossing ritual hundreds of times could do that! Is this not his first time walking the Yin?

Fang Chen smiled lightly. ”Is this all you’ve got?”

The youth’s expression flickered between uncertainty and anger. He sneered, ”Don’t get too proud. Youhuan City has many powerful experts. I am nothing compared to them. Just because I am no match for you doesn’t mean they won’t be. You’ve meddled in Brother Ma’s affairs, so just wait for death.”

With that, he turned to leave, intending to avoid further conflict.

Fang Chen said calmly, ”You can leave, but leave your life behind.”

The youth froze for a moment, squinting at Fang Chen. ”You want to keep me here?”

Fang Chen grinned. ”Do you really think you can leave after attacking me? Since you’re a Yin Walker, then you’ve seen your fair share of the world. You can’t be so naive.”

The youth froze for a few moments, his expression gradually becoming more serious, his eyes filled with caution. As he slowly retreated, he threatened, ”I know many important figures in Youhuan City. If you kill me, not only will they not stand by and do nothing, but even the high-ranking officials in Youhuan City won’t let you off easily.”

As he spoke, the youth saw several familiar figures and his face lit up with joy. He called out loudly, ”Brother Lin, save me!”

The surrounding wandering ghosts looked toward those figures.

One of them sighed softly and said, ”I didn’t want to get involved in this mess, but this kid is too sharp. Fine, fine.”

The person slowly walked forward and positioned himself between Fang Chen and the youth.

”Brother Lin, this person interfered with Brother Ma’s matters and now says he wants to kill me. He’s completely disregarding the rules. Please, you have to step in and teach him a lesson!” urged the youth hurriedly.

”Oh?”

The newcomer looked at the distant figures of Wen Fan and the black-clad woman, then turned to look at Fang Chen. He seemed to have grasped the source of the dispute.

He muttered to himself, ”I see. So that’s what this is about.”

He cleared his throat and smiled at Fang Chen. ”Fellow Daoist, you seem unfamiliar. I heard that a new Yin Walker arrived in Youhuan City today. I suppose that must be you. Since you’re new here, you probably don’t understand some of the rules. For one, you shouldn’t have interfered in Brother Ma’s business. Allow me to be the mediator. Just ignore this matter. I’ll speak on your behalf to Brother Ma later, and we’ll call it a day. How does that sound?”

In the distance, Wen Fan and the black-clad woman exchanged glances, their eyes full of concern.

The two women had approached many Yin Walkers in the past days, but either the situation was too difficult or they didn’t want to offend Ma Minlong, which led to no one being willing to take on the business.

Now, this newcomer had finally agreed to help them. If he was dissuaded by just a few words from the newcomer, they wouldn’t know what to do next.

”What if I don’t want to?” said Fang Chen.

”So, you’re refusing to give me, Lin, face? Although I’m not a big shot, I do have some influence in Youhuan City. If you don’t want to make things difficult for yourself here, you’d better think carefully about my offer.”

Fang Chen’s smile widened. ”I won’t think about it. This person will die today. Now, the question is, will you intervene, or will you just watch the show?”

The youth said angrily, ”Brother Lin, look at how arrogant he is! If we don’t teach him a lesson, what will happen in the future?”

”You’re right.” The person nodded slightly to the youth. He then turned his attention to Fang Chen and grinned. ”I’ll count to three. If you’re not gone by then, you’ll die.”

He began to count. ”One, two, th—”

Fang Chen continued, ”Three.”

The newcomer was taken aback.

Before he could react, Fang Chen’s Yin energy erupted, and the man’s entire form shattered into fragments of Yin energy, dissipating before everyone’s eyes.

The surrounding wandering souls stood stunned.

The Yin Walkers who had come with the new person exchanged glances, looking grim.

This newcomer’s strength… is formidable.

The youth stared blankly at the spot where Brother Lin had just stood, now empty except for a few wisps of Yin energy. It took a moment for his mind to process what had happened.

When he finally regained his senses, the arrogance on his face had completely vanished, replaced by terror and fear. He began to step back slowly. ”Please don’t kill me! I can give you Yin Lifespan Coins! How many do you want? Five years? Ten years? Twenty years?!”

The woman in black urgently warned, ”Don’t let him fool you! Youhuan City does not interfere in the matters between Yin Walkers, but if you take Yin lifespan coins from him this way, it will be considered extortion, and the city will get involved.”

The youth glared at the woman venomously. ”You bitch!”

It would have been fine if the other person didn’t know about this. As long he took his Yin lifespan coins, Youhuan City would’ve intervened for him even if he died.

Just as the youth was about to beg for mercy, he exploded into a cloud of Yin energy, dissipating into the air.

The nearby wandering souls looked on with fear and awe. Two Yin Walkers had died in quick succession. This was the first time this happened in Youhuan City in many years.

Wen Fan and the woman in black were relieved.

The strength of the person they had struck a deal with was beyond their expectations. There was a good chance he would fulfill his end of the deal.
