The Wealthy Tycoon's Game of Life

Chapter 639: Chapter 258 Small Benefits_2

When it came to shooting the second video of his residence, it inexplicably got its reach limited on the platform. After some research, Lin Ran concluded that videos with a ”showing off wealth” nature might naturally face resistance in terms of traffic for lacking positive energy...

Luckily, with the support of a giveaway, the video still performed well, though many passersby only followed for the draw and then unfollowed afterward.

After this cycle repeated several times, Zhou Wang’s followers reached 930,000, still slightly short of one million.

However, if there were no surprises, even with natural growth, he would get the first ”share fragment” reward within a month.

Of course, Zhou Wang didn’t intend to wait; what to post in the third video didn’t matter. He already knew the prize, a new model phone that most people would want, would easily push his followers past the million mark...

”Thank you all for your attention. The third video should be released soon, so keep an eye out,”

In response to everyone’s actions, Zhou Wang bowed slightly to show humility, then smiled and said, ”Alright, back to the main topic. Actually, I didn’t come to the set empty-handed today...”

”Whoa~”

Everyone instantly cheered with anticipation.

Typically, visitors to a set, whether other celebrities or investors, seldom came empty-handed, but the small perks they brought tended to be food and drinks.

Like giving everyone a cup of milk tea, or bringing a group of chefs to roast a whole lamb for everyone...

Surprises, but not many.

Given Zhou Wang’s identity and the tone he set earlier, everyone’s anticipation naturally peaked at that moment.

”What kind of goodies would be appropriate?”

Facing the crowd’s bright eyes, Zhou Wang spoke, ”Before I came, I thought for a bit and felt that no matter what I give, it wouldn’t suit everyone, so...”

Zhou Wang paused and clapped his hands.

Miao Ying, who had been silently following Zhou Wang, stepped forward and placed a large travel bag over her shoulder on the ground.

As everyone craned their necks to look, Zhou Wang already laughed and said, ”So, I’ll just give out cash directly. I think no one will refuse that, right?”

”Damn, no one could refuse that!”

”Mr. Zhou, you’re awesome!”

”Brother Dog is generous...”

Everyone shouted with excitement.

Judging by the size of the travel bag, this red envelope wasn’t small...

And Zhou Wang wasn’t wrong, for people in Huaxia, what’s more practical than real cash?

If not for Huaxia’s tradition of subtlety, cash instead of gifts would be the best choice.

In case you give me something I can’t use, no matter how fancy, I’d have to find a way to sell it, which is troublesome...

”Hey man, how do you know my nickname?”

Zhou Wang was surprised to look at the young man shouting ”Brother Dog,” confirming it wasn’t a familiar person.

”Mr. Zhou, I’ve seen people call you that in your comment section before, thought it felt endearing, so I blurted it out... Sorry!”

The young man, probably from the lighting crew, looked a bit shy.

”No worries, I feel it’s endearing too, haha...”

Zhou Wang nonchalantly waved it off before continuing, ”I’ve prepared two hundred cash red envelopes. I’ll have the crew put them in the lottery box for everyone to draw. The amount ranges from five hundred to five thousand yuan; it depends on your luck.”

Zhou Wang had initially thought about making it equal, but upon reconsidering, decided on a variation to make it more interesting and engaging.

Even the lowest prize of five hundred isn’t too little. Those who don’t win the most won’t have much regret, and the ceiling shouldn’t be too high. If it’s five hundred versus fifty thousand, it would inevitably unbalance people’s mindset.

A tenfold difference was just right.

...

Under the crew’s lead, a joyful red envelope lottery unfolded in the studio, with everyone eager and enthusiastic.

While everyone queued for the red envelope, Zhou Wang suddenly felt his phone vibrate. He checked it and raised an eyebrow at Ma Yuan beside him, ”Brother Ma, what does this mean?”

After getting familiar over half a day, their addresses naturally grew closer.

The reason for Zhou Wang’s current displeasure was that Ma Yuan had transferred him 400,000 yuan.

”Bro, the money you saved me today far exceeds this amount, so how can I let you cover the red envelopes?”

Ma Yuan merely laughed, ”Don’t worry, this money isn’t personally borne by me. I’ll count it as a cost, consider it an early bonus from all us investors.”

Hearing Ma Yuan say this, Zhou Wang could only smile wryly, ”If you put it that way, I can’t refuse, but the problem is, this way you’re at a loss instead, since all the fame goes to me...”

”Hahaha, brother, why split hairs? Although you’ve gained a bit of a reputation, wasn’t your main goal for the shoot of this show to go more smoothly? It’s still a win-win!”

You’re wrong, man, I just did it for pride’s sake...

Zhou Wang silently mocked in his heart.

But regardless, Ma Yuan wasn’t wrong either. Encouraging the crew motivated them, even if only speeding up the progress a day, it invisibly compensated for these bonuses.

Of course, mainly because Zhou Wang was relatively ”poor” at the moment, and with Ma Yuan actively proposing, he found no reason to refuse.
