The Wealthy Tycoon's Game of Life

Chapter 620: Chapter 252 A Week_3

...

Besides, there was another thing that might be considered a trivial matter.

On September 10, 2024, at the invitation of Yi County’s richest man, Cheng Jingtian, Zhou Wang officially became a member of the Yunnan Province General Chamber of Commerce.

Cheng Jingtian originally intended to propose that Zhou Wang directly serve as an executive member, but for some reason, this proposal did not pass during the executive meeting.

Incidentally, the structure of the Yunnan Province General Chamber of Commerce currently includes leadership positions such as the president, vice presidents, as well as an executive committee and an operating committee.

The executive committee has over one hundred members, while the operating committee consists of more than three hundred people; these individuals are considered core members of the chamber of commerce, all successful businessmen from various industries in Yunan Province.

In summary, after the proposal was rejected, Zhou Wang ultimately became just a regular member among nearly 140,000 members.

For this, Cheng Jingtian expressed considerable guilt when he called Zhou Wang and even had his son, Cheng Qing, deliver a carload of gifts to Zhou Wang as a form of apology.

Zhou Wang didn’t mind much and roughly understood the reason.

Although he had already built quite a network in Yunan Province, with people who admired him, there were certainly many among the older generation of entrepreneurs who looked down on him.

On the surface, Zhou Wang’s industries in Yunan Province were already impressive to ordinary people, but in the eyes of these tycoons with assets exceeding a billion, they still seemed somewhat unremarkable.

Zhou Wang simply listened to Cheng Jingtian describe the executive committee’s voting process, noted down a few names, and then temporarily forgot about the matter.

...

On September 11, 2024,

At Yunnan Province International Airport, accompanied by Ruan Jinghong, Zhou Wang greeted his parents, grandmother, and a large group of relatives who returned from a trip to Europe, along with Su Yajing, who looked quite nervous.

They had traveled for more than three weeks, visiting five countries, and saw snow-covered mountains, the aurora, soccer matches, grand cathedrals, and Prague Square at dusk, making it an incredibly fulfilling journey.

Of course, the more fun they had during the trip, the more tiring it was upon returning; even Zhou Wang’s energetic younger cousins looked weary, walking like zombies.

Upon seeing her son, Zhao Guifen, his mother, wasn’t terribly excited and gave Zhou Wang a perfunctory hug, considering it done.

But upon seeing Su Yajing, who stood shyly beside Zhou Wang, his mother immediately became lively.

”This young lady is...”

”My name is Su Yajing, hello Auntie, hello Uncle, hello Grandma, hello Big Uncle, hello Little Uncle...”

At this moment, Su Yajing didn’t hesitate and stepped forward, greeting everyone sweetly.

”How do you know who’s who?”

The relatives were a bit stunned, and Little Uncle Zhao Guilin asked curiously.

”She barely slept last night, just looked at the photos in our family group and remembered everyone’s faces...”

Zhou Wang explained with a smile.

This left everyone amazed, and after being stunned, his mother warmly held Su Yajing’s hand and started asking her lots of questions.

Later, when Su Yajing was chatting with Grandma, Zhao Guifen came over and pulled Zhou Wang aside.

”Is she really your girlfriend?”

”Mom, I’ve brought her in front of you, what do you think?”

”Then... what about Qingkui?”

Upon hearing Zhao Guifen’s question, Zhou Wang realized what she was worried about and couldn’t help but find it funny.

”Mom, what are you saying, Sister Qingkui is just my secretary, we have a purely professional relationship...”

”Go tell that to your Uncle Jiang!”

”...”

Zhou Wang suddenly didn’t know what to say.

”Your little schemes, Mom knows better than anyone!”

Zhao Guifen rolled her eyes and said, ”Qingkui isn’t here today because you purposely sent her away, right? I’m telling you, Mom knows you have money now, but don’t become like those Chen Shimei, messing with innocent girls...”

”I’m telling the truth, Sister Qingkui knows Su Yajing too, she genuinely couldn’t come today due to work and specifically asked me to tell you!”

Zhou Wang explained helplessly.

Hearing this, Zhao Guifen was momentarily stunned, then murmured, ”So, you and Qingkui really aren’t happening... then how are your dad and Uncle Jiang going to handle this, last time Uncle Jiang even held on to your dad...”

”Uh?”

Upon hearing some gossip, Zhou Wang quickly grabbed his mom and asked, ”What did he say, quickly tell me.”

”It was just your dad and Uncle Jiang drinking together, and Uncle Jiang got drunk and said he guessed his daughter was going to have trouble with you, and if you ever dared to wrong Qingkui, he’d come cause trouble for your dad...”

Zhou Wang rubbed his nose, momentarily speechless, no wonder he always felt his dad’s smile was a bit strange.

”Ahem, I think it might be better not to tell Uncle Jiang right now...”

”Mom won’t say anything for now, and I have to remind your dad not to mention it either, because we’re still not sure if you and this girl will last... but she seems pretty likable.”

As she spoke, Zhao Guifen looked at the obedient-looking Su Yajing from a distance and couldn’t help but smile.

”So Mom, which one do you like more, Sister Qingkui or Su Yajing?”

Zhou Wang couldn’t help but ask.

”Mom doesn’t dare to choose; considering our family’s past situation, Mom only hoped you’d settle down smoothly...”

Zhao Guifen sighed, then joyfully said, ”But now that you’re with Yajing, don’t think about those useless things, after all, Sister Qingkui has no shortage of options and will definitely find a good family in the future.”

Zhou Wang didn’t know how to respond and could only nod in agreement.

At this moment, Zhao Guifen continued to chatter, ”Will you be home for the Mid-Autumn Festival? I need to find that bracelet your Grandma gave me so I can give it to Yajing as a meeting gift...”
