STRIKER: Independent Beast Tamer

Head office:

”So it’s just the ambush of six-legged hybrid beasts,” Oldman Neil said to himself.

He learned what happened from Leader Gisela. He was more taken aback by the surprise of learning about Jeremy Night’s performance.

He hadn’t expected that kid to fight against the Corrupted Beasts right away. His earlier intention was to get familiar with the wilderness here.

The wilderness in their 10th zone was more treacherous than the 14th zone. Beasts here are cunning and clever. They do a lot more ambushing and killing.

If the Beast Tamers were not careful, they and their Lifeline beasts would die. So he thinks that kid has done pretty well.

Not only did he kill the Tier-4 corrupted beast, but he also defeated others as well. So he was feeling good.

...

Infirmary:

Gisela is speaking to the doctor. The doctor has administered the healing cure to everyone. It won’t be long before the seriously injured wake up.

The doctor not only treated them but also treated their Lifeline beasts as well.

The Lifeline beasts consumed the recovery solution before going back to the beast tamer’s mental zone.

An hour later,

The 3rd Squad Team Captain Sinag Clark has almost recovered from her injuries. She didn’t suffer like others. She was able to block most of the attacks.

But the battle was a struggle. She is now in her treatment room. She couldn’t help but think about the confrontation. No one had an easy time.

Suddenly, the image of the newcomer’s blade fight flashes before her eyes. In two or three moves, the newcomer had killed the Tier-4 Beast.

Even she, as a Tier-3 beast tamer, found it difficult to fight across two levels. They were able to survive because of the armor suit.

If the newcomer had made a mistake, then he would have died. The Tier-4 Beasts and above are cunning; they have good intelligence.

But she doesn’t know how the coming days will be. The 10th zone was not calm like it appeared on the surface. Under currents are surging a lot.

Someone had previously murdered the 10th member.

She hopes that the newcomer will survive.

Slowly, the other team members wake up one by one. They were also discussing the battle. Of course, the newcomer was the topic of their discussion.

How could they forget him? That guy not only impressed them, but he had shocked the 1st Squad members.

Who are the first squad members? They are the Tier-5 Beast Tamers. Each and every one of them is elite. Their Lifeline beasts are formidable as well.

None of them had slandered the newcomer. It shows that the newcomer has gained the approval of everyone. So there is going to be little chance of any infighting.

Unless someone is blind enough to provoke Jeremy Night.

Meanwhile,

It didn’t take long for the news to spread across the office as well. All the old and new staff were shocked.

They had never seen anyone kill a Tier-4 beast at the Tier-2 stage. Since the news came from the 1st Squad, they had to believe it.

For this rescue, the 1st Squad members from others’ teams went as well. They all had witnessed the power of Jeremy Night. What’s more, Jeremy Night didn’t use his Lifeline beast at all.

This news was more shocking to everyone. When the news became known to everyone, they were warned not to leak this to the outside world.

Otherwise, if the Sun Wheel Organization and other hostile organizations knew about this, they would definitely take action against Jeremy Night in the future.

...

Inside the room, Jeremy changed into comfortable clothes after taking a bath. He was in a good mood because of the successful plan. He was able to impress others.

He thinks that everyone would be discussing his fight now. If not for the Eye and Starlight abilities, it would have been impossible for him to kill the Tier-4 hybrid beast in such a short time.

What’s more? He learned that the wilderness surrounding this city is far more dangerous than back at home. The Tier-4 and Tier-5 Corrupted beasts are roaming in the outer part of the wilderness close to the city.

Then what’s living in the inner part, core part, and beyond? His spine went cold thinking about it. He is not going to enter the wilderness before getting started on the new blade technique.

At least, he wants to achieve a beginner-level skill in the new blade technique. After making the decision, he started to take a small nap. He will later enter the practice room.

14th zone, Central University 14:

Post-noon, Betsy and Daniel were ready to go to the training facility again. But their faces did not look good.

”It’s been several days, but there is no sign of Jeremy Night,” Betsy Lowe said.

”Senior brother must be spending more days in the wilderness,” Daniel Stone said.

But he was not sure about that. Usually, Jeremy Night doesn’t spend more than 2 days in the wilderness. This time it’s taking longer.

”Was he injured or something worse happened?” Betsy asked.

Hearing that, Daniel Stone’s face changes.

He said, ”It can’t be true. Because if something happens to Brother Jeremy Night, then his parents would know.”

”Elder Derek and Instructor Jacob won’t be silent,” he added.

Betsy’s eyes flash with brilliance.

She said, ”Could they be hiding something from us?”

Daniel raised his eyebrows in doubt. Truly, he didn’t know about it.

”Let’s see and wait for a couple more days. If brother Jeremy has not returned by then, we can be sure something is wrong,” Daniel said.

Betsy liked the idea. She said, ”Okay.”

Not only them, but the two S-Graders were confused as well. There was no news of Jeremy Night whatsoever. Even the two STRIKER Department members were clueless.

The other first-year students were discussing him from time to time. Without Jeremy Night, they felt the first-year campus was getting boring.

On the other hand, Instructor Jacob only knew himself how hard it was for him to hide the secret from others, especially from Betsy and Daniel.

He understood that they felt something was wrong. But they had never asked him yet..

10th Zone, City A

The following day,

Jeremy Night was ready. He came to the first floor like yesterday. This time there were more curious eyes. It was like a powerful prodigy becoming the center of attention.

But Jeremy’s eyes were set on a short, black-haired woman because she was looking at him. She must be one or two years older than him.

Jeremy then saw Leader Gisela beside her. He walked up to them and greeted Gisela first.

”You are here. Let me introduce your squad captain. Her name is Sinag Clark. She is a Tier-3 Beast Tamer. You must have seen her yesterday.”

”There are other guys, but I have told them to rest first. Their bodies are still weak after recovery,” Gisela said with a smile.

She was glad that there were no serious damages yesterday. Everyone was able to walk out alive.

Jeremy turned toward the captain and said, ”Hi, my name is Jeremy Night. I’m a Tier-2 Beast Tamer.”

It was a simple introduction, but Sinag was not going to underestimate him.

”I’m Sinag. I hope we can get along well,” she replied.

Jeremy nodded to her.

”Now that the intro is done, let’s talk about serious business. Someone from the City Administration has contacted me.”

”They need two Tier-3 Beast Tamers to clear out the lair of poisonous black Tier-3 scorpions. They were found in the cave close to the northern settlement.”

”The City Administration has hired a team, but they are missing two people right now. They have asked me if you guys want to team up,” Gisela said.

Hearing that, Jeremy felt it was the right opportunity to explore the wilderness.

Sinag thought the same as well. She saw this as a good chance to observe the newcomer’s strength.

”Good, you guys should leave right now. The team is going to wait at the City Hall,” Gisela said.

She then thought of something important.

She said, ”After completing the mission, don’t forget to inform me.”

Both of them nodded to her. Gisela then left the place.

”Come with me. I’ll take you to the armory,” Sinag said to him with a smile.

Jeremy nodded to her. This was going to be his first mission. He couldn’t wait to perform. On the other hand, he was quite shocked to know the details.

How could there be a Tier-3 Corrupted Beast lair near the human settlement? Didn’t the authorities clear it from time to time?

He had a lot of doubts, but he thought that the cave had been occupied by beasts over time.

Soon, they came to the armory. It was located next to the office. Some of the office workers who had nothing to do kept an eye on the two.

They didn’t know what had happened earlier, but they could tell that Sinag and the newcomer might be going for a mission. Otherwise, there would be no need to go to the armory this soon.

Upon entering the armory, Jeremy’s eyes widened in surprise. It was not like an old rundown room; this place was wide and spacious.

The walls and floors were built with special materials. They were all white in color. With the lighting, the place looked bright.
