Days passed.

The City Police are continuing their investigation, but they haven’t got any leads so far. They couldn’t get any details about the unknown sniper.

Captain Nathan and his team can’t do anything without any solid lead. So they are hoping that the victim will share details if he finds himself in a similar situation.

At the same time, Old Man Javier and his security firm have stopped taking action against Jeremy Night. They are aware of the City Police investigation.

Javier is not a fool to target Jeremy Night again.

His master Rick is staying off the radar of the City Administration. So far, the City Administration hasn’t found the culprit behind the rat beast plague and underground passage collapse.

Once things return to normal, Old Man Javier has decided to do something then.

Meanwhile,

Ron Night was happy to hear that his son was safe. After that firing incident, nothing like that has happened again.

But it doesn’t mean that he is going to let his guard down. His private investigators are staying in City A.

They are coordinating with Captain Nathan. If anything similar happens again, they will be sure to find the culprit behind it.

...

Central University 14:

Jeremy Night left his dormitory. He has been practicing his new sword technique for the past couple of days. He had to admit that his sword skills have improved.

He could avoid wasted moves and wield the sword better. But it can only be completely verified in the wilderness. So he plans to enter the wilderness to fight against the corrupted beasts.

At the same time, he wants to accumulate more experience and strengthen his foundation before reaching Rank 8.

He doesn’t know about others, but he found out that 2 S-Graders have already reached Rank 7. They are having breakthroughs by using the environment here.

But if they had used the Forbidden Area environment, they would have become Rank 8 or above.

Fortunately, it is his secret practice spot.

Shortly afterward,

Jeremy reached the gate and walked out of the campus. The two guards in front of the gate looked at each other.

One of them nodded after confirming the student was none other than Jeremy Night.

After booking the air cab, Jeremy is waiting for it. He didn’t even go to the store to buy items because he was not planning to go deeper.

As long as he could fight against Tier-3 or Tier-4 Corrupted Beasts, it would be fine.

Soon, the flying taxi came. Jeremy entered and told the driver to reach the City Gate. But he didn’t know what’s happening behind him.

Swoosh!

Not long after the taxi left, the guards tipped someone off. The person is none other than Billy, the 2nd-year Beast Tamer.

Upon receiving the news, he was happy. His eyes flashed with a cold glint. He has been waiting for this moment ever since Jeremy Night showed him the cold shoulder.

But he had to wait this long because Jeremy Night never left for the wilderness. Billy thinks that tonight might be his chance.

From the guards’ information, he understood that Jeremy went in the direction of the City Gate.

Then he called his family butler to arrange some things. He is not going to target Jeremy Night directly. Instead, he had hired a few mercenaries before.

As long as the money is paid, they will complete the task. He had given them the task to eliminate Jeremy Night earlier. He had deposited the money as well.

Now, the mercenaries are waiting for a chance. He thinks it will be a matter of time before they enter the wilderness as well.

”STRIKER Department,” he snorted.

He thinks that from today onwards, there will be no ”STRIKER Department.”

Their resource distribution won’t change. A gleeful smile appeared on his face thinking about it.

...

Time passed.

Jeremy Night entered the wilderness 30 minutes later. He is now moving towards the inner part of the wilderness. He has already seen Tier-2 Beasts, but he ignored them.

Some of them attacked him, but after seeing his response, they fled. He didn’t want to waste energy dealing with these low-tier beasts.

His goal was to fight against Tier-3 or Tier-4 Beasts.

Meanwhile,

A group of 5 middle-aged men dressed in mercenary clothes entered the wilderness.

One of them went to the City Guard standing nearby.

He asked, ”Mister, did you see a youngster entering the wilderness? He is our young master. He entered the wilderness before we regrouped.”

The City Guard was stunned. He completely believed it. Then he recalled a youngster who left not long ago. He then pointed in the direction of the person.

The mercenary smiled. He thanked the guard before returning to his team. The team then started their journey.

Time passed.

When they went deeper inside the wilderness, the mercenaries stopped their movement and began to discuss.

”We have to complete the task without fail.”

”The employer has a rich background. Not a character we can afford to offend,” said a middle-aged man with a thick beard.

Hearing that, the four looked at each other. It was not like they hadn’t done their homework. The background of their target was not ordinary either.

The middle-aged man with the thick beard was their leader. He saw through their confusion.

He said, ”I know what you guys are worried about. But think about it: someone who could employ us to kill the son of a City Governor is not from an ordinary power.”

”From my sources, I found out that the person who employed us is working for a family. The family is connected to the Goldcorp Organization.”

”I presume the family is the one who issued the task,” he carefully explained.

After hearing that, his teammates nodded to him.

It was not like they were committing crimes for the first time. But this time they have taken on a high-profile task.

If they miss it, they will suffer. Even if they leave any evidence behind, they will suffer even more. They need to do it cleanly.

...

Wilderness:

An hour later,

Jeremy entered the inner part of the wilderness. He immediately encountered a hybrid four-legged beast. He couldn’t identify the species, but its ferocious appearance made him cautious.

He was looking for the Tier-3 Beast, but he didn’t expect to come across one so soon. The four-legged beast was brown in color and over 8 feet tall, with a well-built body.

It had razor-sharp teeth and bloodthirsty eyes. Jeremy looked at its hind legs and guessed that the beast could move fast.

He held his katana tightly. He was going to use a newly learned sword move without using starlight energy.

Boom!

The hybrid beast burst forth with speed, immediately covering half the distance before its claws reached him.

Jeremy swung his sword with high precision. The blade, with brute force, came into contact with the claw.

Boom!

Dust scattered. He immediately felt the recoiling effect. Jeremy retreated backward to widen the gap. His eyes flashed with surprise.

The beast’s strength was more formidable than he thought.

Growl!

The beast screamed before launching into the air with incredible speed.

Boom!

Jeremy’s pupils shrank. He then moved. Everything around him slowed down as his blade cut through the air and struck the beast’s neck.

Puchak!

The blade penetrated the skin, creating a hole. Blood emerged the next second. This all happened within seconds.

Swoosh!

Jeremy identified the beast’s weakness. He was going to target the neck.

Growl!

The beast became enraged. It went mad, launching toward him with extreme speed. This time, its speed was doubled.

Jeremy felt a sense of crisis. He gritted his teeth and leaped forward. They came closer in the blink of an eye.

Slice!

He swung his katana while in motion. The blade moved in a fluid arc, severing the head of the beast.

Pfff!

Blood splattered on the ground. The beast’s body dropped dead.

Phew!

Jeremy heaved a sigh of relief. Looking at the beast’s corpse, his eyes gleamed with a twinkle.

”That was fast,” he uttered.

Then he decided not to waste the beast’s corpse. He walked to it and stored it in his storage ring, thinking that the hybrid beast’s corpse would sell for good money.

He could earn more than 10,000 points by selling it.

Jeremy then collected his thoughts before looking around.

Seeing that there were no other beasts in the vicinity, Jeremy moved away from the spot. He was going to hunt a few more beasts to test his skills.

Meanwhile,

The Mercenary Team had lost the trail. They were after Jeremy Night, the university kid, but after entering the inner part of the wilderness, they didn’t know what to do.

”Do you guys think he went deeper?” one of them asked.

Everyone frowned. They knew the target was a Tier-1 Beast Tamer. It was impossible for the kid to enter the inner part of the wilderness, let alone go deeper.

”F*ck,” the thick-browed middle-aged man cursed.

They had no choice but to wait in the outer part of the wilderness.
