Jeremy was dumbstruck. He didn’t expect Commander Harris to save him. On the other hand, Ken and Norton collapsed on the ground as well.

They were petrified by the Tier-4 Tiger Beast’s strike earlier.

Commander Harris’s gaze fell on Jeremy Night and the others before disappearing from the spot.

”Brother, we are saved. The Commander came to rescue us,” Ken said with a relieved smile.

”Jeremy, are you alright?” Eve came to help.

”It’s nothing serious. Just give me the medicine liquid,” he asked her.

Eve gave him the bottle she had prepared.

Jeremy drank the liquid. Then he felt the pain relieving from his chest. He thanked Eve before returning to his position.

The other Beast Tamers who saw from afar were ashamed. Everyone ran off after seeing the Tier-4 Beast. Jeremy Night was the only one who had confronted it directly.

”Jeremy, you are indeed brave,” Norton said, giving a thumbs up.

He was slightly embarrassed. The first-year student did well, but he ended up collapsing on the ground.

Ken lowered his head in shame as well.

Jeremy noticed this and said, ”Don’t copy me. I was testing the defense of the Tier-4 Beast. I was able to leave a few scratches; that’s all.”

”We know it. But still, you are not afraid,” Norton said.

”Okay. We just hope another one doesn’t appear,” Jeremy replied.

On the other hand, Captain Mirza saw the team was rescued by Commander Harris. She felt grateful. If they had died, she would have felt guilty for the rest of her life.

Commander Harris returned to his position, where others saw his actions as well.

”Wow!”

”You went there to save that kid!”

”When did you become so easygoing?”

The other Commanders asked him.

Harris snorted but didn’t reply. He hated their casual remarks. There were casualties on their side, but they didn’t take it seriously. So he didn’t like them.

The other Commanders saw his unresponsiveness. Their eyes flashed coldly.

...

Wilderness:

The Tier-7 Thorny Worm Beast sensed the intruder again. But this time there were 3 intruders. It felt a threat from them.

The next second, it ordered 10 Tier-5 Beasts to launch an attack at the same time. It thought this would disrupt the humans.

At the same time, it ordered 3 Tier-6 Beasts to fight against the intruders. The Corrupted Beasts’ bodies were strong.

It wasn’t easy for others of the same rank to defeat them.

City Governor Elton led others deep into the wilderness. He then landed on the ground where he had previously been attacked.

The other 2 City Governors immediately started to scan their surroundings as well as the underground. From Elton, they knew that the Tier-7 Beast was of the Worm Category.

They thought the other beasts were likely to be of the underground type.

Boom!

It didn’t take much time for the 3 Tier-6 Beasts to reach them. They attacked by emerging from the ground. The sudden rupture of the ground disrupted the City Governors.

Elton was clever. He warned others not to take out their lifeline beasts while on the ground. So the three of them were able to save themselves from the surprise attack.

”Underground Worm Beasts!”

”Careful!”

The 3 Tier-6 Underground Worm Beasts were exposed as well.

Hearing Elton’s shouting, the other two reacted. When they tried to retaliate, the worms went into hiding again.

Seeing that, Elton and the others felt a headache. If they didn’t do anything, then the invasion wouldn’t end.

On top of it, they had yet to see the Tier-7 Thorny Worm Beast as well.

”Quick!”

”We have to kill them before finding the Tier-7 Worm,” Elton said.

Then the 2 City Governors started to chase the 3 Tier-6 Beasts.

...

Meanwhile,

The 10 Tier-5 Beasts were charging together with the Tier-4 Beasts. No one noticed until one of the captains’ lifeline beasts warned them.

After learning that the Tier-5 Beasts had joined the attack, blood drained from the Captains’ faces. They were Tier-5 Beast Tamers.

But the same rank didn’t mean they were equal. The Corrupted Beasts were inherently stronger than humans.

This time the Captains had consumed so much energy in a short time. If they didn’t defeat the Tier-5 Beasts quickly, then they would have to seek help from the commanders.

On the other hand, Jeremy and others were waiting with bated breath. Jeremy had tasted the strength of the Tier-4 Beast.

He now realized how foolish he was when he asked the Instructors about the Tier-4 Beast. If he wanted to defeat the Tier-4 Beast, then he might have to reach Tier-2 first.

He thought it would take a few months at least.

West Side:

May Lindsey exhausted her elemental energy. Now her family beast tamers were supporting her. Using this opportunity, she was recovering her energy in a mental zone.

The appearance of the Tier-4 Beasts had scared the sh!t out of everyone. The Tier-3 Beast was already overkill for them.

If not for everyone’s combined effort to stop the horde of Tier-3 Beasts, it wouldn’t have been easy for them to survive.

While recovering her ice energy, she was getting praise from everyone. Everyone hailed her, saying no one was better than her in the first year.

After hearing that, she thought about Jeremy Night. She wanted to know his kill points. For some important reason, she and others hadn’t relied on their lifeline beasts to fight.

She was S-Grade Talent. She had to think twice before making choices. Since she was capable of killing the beasts with ice elemental attacks, she didn’t think it was necessary to use the lifeline beast.

If the lifeline beast was injured, then she would regret it a lot.

On the other hand, Victor Scott was totally different. He had been tiring out his own lifeline beast. The continuous use of poison attacks caused the spider Lifeline Beast’s poison to deplete.

Until it recovered its poison, it would be difficult for Victor Scott to use it again. Like May Lindsey, he was getting family help right now.

From time to time, he couldn’t help but look at May Lindsey. She had made a lot more kills than him. It left him with frustration.

It reminded him of another young man from the fallen department, Jeremy Night.
