East Side:

”The invasion is happening!”

”Everyone be ready!”

The voices of commanders spread across the front line, ensuring that everyone was alerted. Those who didn’t summon their lifeline beast did so at this time.

West Side:

Meanwhile, on the west side, the same thing is happening. However, here the front lines are made up of Beast Tamers from the Beast Taming Families.

May Lindsay and Victor Scott are with their family Beast Tamers, ready to defend their line. They are not the only ones here.

Even 2nd, 3rd, and 4th Years from the Beast Taming Families are present, representing their families.

Violet Heath is with her family Beast Tamers. Her eyes are solemn. She doesn’t know what the higher-ups are doing.

If they figure out which corrupted beasts are responsible for the invasion, they can go for a kill to solve this invasion.

Seeing the corrupted beasts coming towards them now, she thinks it will take a while for them to do it.

Until then, they have to hold their position.

On the other hand, Ernest Knox is here as well.

Similarly, the North and South are filled with Beast Tamers from different organizations, including the Beast Taming Association and City Administration.

As time passes, there are only a couple of meters left of the 1st wave of attack. The corrupted beasts that are advancing are Tier-2 Beasts.

On the east side, Jeremy holds the katana tightly in his right hand. He is slightly tense but quite excited.

He is looking forward to seeing his final count. Unfortunately, he can’t move away from his position, as this would only affect others.

He can only hold the position to defend against the incoming attack.

Shortly afterwards, everyone sees the Tier-1 corrupted beasts up close. Only the sound of ground tremors can be heard.

Jeremy spots his first—a four-legged corrupted beast with a hybrid look—coming towards him. Its hideous face and sharp teeth would scare anyone.

At this moment, Jeremy Night is unusually calm. His senses are heightened as he looks for a weakness. In this situation, he can’t afford to make a mistake. He is looking to sever its head.

Swoosh!

When the corrupted beast leaps towards him, Jeremy smiles. He steps forward and draws his sword.

Cut!

The blade goes smoothly into the beast’s neck before severing it from the body.

Pfff!

Toxic blood splatters, and the beast’s lifeless body drops to the ground.

Jeremy’s eyes then fall on the corrupted beasts ahead. A few of them spot him and rush in his direction.

Jeremy’s eyes shift to his right side.

The 1st Year brown-haired Attack Department Beast Tamer is struggling against the monkey-type corrupted beasts.

Cut!

At the right opportunity, Jeremy unsheathes his sword. The katana blade stabs the monkey’s right eye in the blink of an eye.

The blade goes inside the head before piercing the brain. The monkey corrupted beast is killed on the spot.

Jeremy then sheaths his sword. His gaze moves to his left side, where the corrupted beast has already been killed by a female control department beast tamer.

When he sees her controlling a knife to kill the beast, he is shocked. He knows it’s not a weapon control or elemental control but a mental control.

Jeremy doesn’t know about her talent grade. If her talent is B and above, then her future is bright.

”What was her name again?”

”Rin,” Jeremy thinks to himself.

”Jeremy Night, thanks for the help,” the brown-haired beast tamer says with gratitude.

”We don’t have time for that; focus on the next beasts,” he replies.

He also recalls the brown-haired tamer’s name. It was Ken. The last one was the Medicine Department beast tamer; her name was Eve.

Currently, she is assisting other teams.

As Jeremy looks around his surroundings, the corrupted beasts reach him. They are four-legged beasts. Jeremy does the same.

Slice!

The katana in his hand dances in the wind before slicing the beast’s neck in the blink of an eye.

By the time he cuts down the last corrupted beast’s neck, there are no more corrupted beasts left near him.

Seeing his fierce killing, the people behind him are shocked.

His teammates are even more amazed, but they knew about it beforehand. Rin’s eyes tremble. Her killing speed is nowhere near Jeremy Night.

So, she has to put in a lot of effort to achieve accuracy, whereas Jeremy’s movements are smooth. There is no wastage of energy.

The brown-haired Ken is fighting using gauntlets. The pain from the metal gauntlets is his talent. When he sees that Jeremy has finished killing, he is shocked to the core.

He had heard before that Jeremy Night was capable of killing Tier-3 corrupted beasts. He was there when he saw the corpse of a Tier-3 grounded snake during the Department Ranking Competition.

At that time, he didn’t take it seriously. But now he realizes how hard it was to fight against Tier-1 corrupted beasts, let alone Tier-2 and Tier-3 corrupted beasts, which he can only imagine.

Jeremy has a couple of minutes to relax. He has killed his share of the 1st wave of Tier-1 corrupted beasts. There are many more to come.

After a couple of minutes, all four sides have dealt with the 1st wave of Tier-1 corrupted beasts without any casualties.

Meanwhile, Commander Harris and three other commanders on the east side notice that the university beast tamers are performing better than they anticipated.

Especially the 1st years, who have little to no experience. Everyone has survived the 1st wave.

Harris’ eyes flicker. He wonders what the city governors are doing right now. He doesn’t want to see any casualties. But if the battle continues, the first casualties will soon appear.

The strong beast tamers have helped their team members in killing the corrupted beasts. In the upcoming successive waves, even they will find it hard to save themselves.

As the time passes, his expression is solemn as he thinks about it. He hopes that situation would improve.
