When a Blade of Grass Wants to Become Immortal

Chapter 137: Chapter 134: The Apocalyptic Big Shot Arrives 11-3

3. Residential Hive (North Mountain Face)

Residential hives are built into the north mountain face.

Earth Ability Users carve out hexagonal dwellings. Each single room is 20m² and includes a ventilation shaft for excellent air circulation.

Wood Ability Users implant thermal-insulating fungal mats into the walls, providing both warmth and environmental friendliness.

Gold Ability Users craft folding furniture that is flexible to store and saves space.

Water Ability Users install atomizing water purification terminals that not only purify water but also increase humidity, improving living comfort.

This is the living environment for most survivors without superpowers. Superpower Users and major contributors, however, are provided with a separate district of villas, each protected by a shield.

III. Transportation System

1. Sky Corridors

Wood Ability Users cultivate giant, umbrella-shaped tree canopies (spaced 50 meters apart), and Gold Ability Users weave alloy mesh walkways across their tops.

2. Underground Tunnels

Earth Ability Users utilize their superpowers to mold a 3-meter-diameter, pressure-resistant pipeline that is sturdy, stable, and capable of withstanding immense pressure.

Next, Gold Ability Users deploy their superpowers to meticulously install maglev railcars, cleverly using residual superpower energy for propulsion. This allows the railcars to run smoothly inside the pipeline, making the system both efficient and eco-friendly.

3. Ground Transport

The ground level features multiple ice-rail conveyor belts. Based on water, they utilize unique physical properties for highly efficient operation.

Every night, low temperatures cause the water to freeze, reinforcing the ice rails and providing a solid foundation for transport;

At noon, however, parts of the ice rails melt, performing a self-cleaning function. This ensures the conveyor belts are always kept in good condition, making them both eco-friendly and practical.

IV. Ecological Purification System

1. Three-Stage Wastewater Treatment

The three stages of the ecological purification system’s wastewater treatment process are tightly interlinked, each with a unique function.

The first stage involves Water Ability Users separating heavy metals. Through specific physical or chemical methods, they effectively separate heavy metals from the wastewater, achieving preliminary purification.

The second stage uses Wood-Element-enhanced algae to decompose organic matter. Leveraging the algae’s unique biological properties, they break down and convert organic pollutants in the wastewater, further improving its purity.

The third stage employs Earth-Element diatomaceous earth for filtration. Using the excellent adsorption and filtering properties of diatomaceous earth, it intercepts and absorbs minute particles, impurities, and some dissolved substances remaining in the wastewater. This achieves a high standard of purification, allowing the water to meet higher discharge standards.

2. Air Purification Matrix

The matrix consists of 120 ginkgo towers, meticulously cultivated by Wood Ability Users. These specially bred ginkgo towers have mutated stomata that can efficiently absorb airborne corpse toxins and other harmful pollutants.

Additionally, the matrix is equipped with an acid rain neutralizer created by Water Ability Users. It reacts with acidic substances in the air to effectively reduce the harm from acid rain, purifying the atmosphere. Working in synergy with the ginkgo towers, it comprehensively improves air quality.

V. Special Facilities

1. Superpower Circulation Center

Earth Ability Users provide the foundational support. They use their immense power to delve deep into the earth and stabilize the ley lines, giving the Energy Tower an indestructible foundation to resist instabilities from deep within the planet.

On the next level up, Gold Ability Users apply their unique skills to meticulously construct energy storage coils. Like containers for energy, these coils cleverly collect, store, and convert various forms of energy, providing a continuous power source for the Energy Tower’s stable operation.

In the upper levels of the Energy Tower, Wood and Water Ability Users work in perfect coordination. Wood Ability Users spread life, making vegetation flourish, while Water Ability Users channel water flows to nourish all things.

The two work together to maintain the ecological balance around the Energy Tower, allowing it to integrate with nature and continuously release stable energy, becoming a key force in protecting the region.

2. Doomsday Archive

A titanium alloy data vault, meticulously forged by the power of the Gold Element, safeguards the precious data of human civilization.

The walls of this data vault are 2 meters thick. Constructed from top-grade titanium alloy and forged using the abilities of the Gold Element, every inch of the alloy is seamlessly bonded, providing excellent resistance to pressure, impact, and corrosion—enough to withstand all manner of extreme environments and external threats.

Inside the data vault, the Wood Element’s spore-based preservation technology plays a central role.

Wood Element Ability Users cleverly use the power of nature to seal humanity’s civilizational data within specially created spores.

These spores possess immense vitality and stability, capable of maintaining the data’s integrity and security over vast spans of time, allowing the wisdom of human civilization to be passed down through generations, unafraid of the erosion of time.

3. Mutant Research Institute

In special containment situations, a confinement facility co-created by Water and Earth Ability Users plays a crucial role.

First is the liquid cage constructed by Water Ability Users. It utilizes water’s unique physical properties, manipulating the interactions between water molecules to flexibly adjust the cage’s density.

When a target needs to be confined, the cage’s density can be increased, making it as hard as rock and difficult for the target to break free;

in other specific situations, the density can be lowered to facilitate observation and maintenance.

At the same time, the Earth Element’s vibration-dampening walls work in close concert.

Earth Ability Users deploy their power to rearrange soil particles, forming thick, stable walls.

These walls not only possess excellent physical defense capabilities but, more importantly, can effectively block vibrations. This prevents sounds, energy fluctuations, and other disturbances from within the cage from propagating outward, thus avoiding interference with the external environment and further ensuring the secrecy and security of the confinement.

VI. Sustainable Design

1. Modular Architecture

All newly constructed units use standard interfaces. Gold Ability Users prefabricate the connecting components, while Earth Ability Users provide the foundational frameworks.

2. Energy Recovery System

Thermal energy generated by residents’ activities is collected by an underground pipe network and conducted to the agricultural zones via a water-based medium.

3. Dynamic Defense Mechanism

In an innovative application of urban planning, superpower elements have been cleverly integrated to create a highly efficient and forward-thinking system of defense and layout.

The city walls are extended with retractable metal pylons constructed by the power of the Gold Element. These pylons not only possess robust physical properties but can also flexibly extend and retract based on actual defense needs.

Even more ingeniously, Wood-Element seed capsules are embedded within the metal pylons. Upon invasion by an external enemy, they automatically burst, and the seeds rapidly grow, assisting the defense with the power of plants to form a barrier combining nature and technology.

The city’s layout inherits the traditional radial-ring structure of urban planning but also boldly innovates upon it, successfully converting superpower characteristics into practical engineering technologies.

A three-dimensional network of underground corridors and aerial trestle-bridges connects the various zones. This design not only greatly improves transportation convenience between zones but, more importantly, allows any damaged zone to be rapidly isolated. This effectively prevents disasters from spreading and ensures the overall safety and stability of the city.

The data shows that the results of this innovative urban plan are significant.

Resource utilization has reached 73%, and the defensive perimeter’s coverage is 92%. Compared to the old city, survival efficiency has increased by 400%.

These figures fully demonstrate the plan’s outstanding advantages in resource utilization, defensive capability, and overall survival assurance, providing a solid foundation for the city’s sustainable development and security.

For a massive city reconstruction project such as this, the person in charge was, of course, Gu Changqing.

And Wang Meng was the director of engineering for the entire city.
