When a Blade of Grass Wants to Become Immortal

Chapter 136: Chapter 134: Arrival of the Apocalyptic Big Shot 11-2

But he just couldn’t shake that uncomfortable feeling. He secretly resolved to keep a closer eye on Gu Lin from now on.

In his eyes, his sister was a treasure to be cherished. He couldn’t just let someone take advantage of her. If Gu Lin dared to mistreat her in the slightest, he would be the first to put a stop to it.

With the zombies in Chenming City completely eliminated, Ji Xiaosong placed a Barrier around the entire city to prevent invasions from other areas.

Over the past month, several million more people had been infected.

As a result, there were now fewer than ten million survivors.

This was less than half the pre-apocalypse population.

To facilitate management and post-apocalyptic reconstruction, the Earth Ability Users, Gold Ability Users, Wood Element Ability Users, and Water Ability Users united to begin rebuilding Chenming City.

This was the final plan issued by the Urban Planning and Construction Bureau:

I. Construction of the Defense System

1. Concentric Circle Defense System

Earth Ability Users will construct a three-layered defense:

The outermost ring is a 15-meter-high wall, created from architectural debris from the ruins that has been catalyzed by a special ability, resembling a massive wall built from stone.

The top of the wall will be strung with barbed wire reinforced by the Gold Ability. Anyone attempting to climb it will be severely injured.

The middle layer is a 30-meter-wide, deep circular moat created by Water Ability Users.

The riverbed will be lined with a dense formation of ice spikes. Anyone attempting to sneak through the water will be impaled.

The innermost layer is a barrier of mutated thorns, grown using the Wood Ability. These thorns secrete a corrosive slime that dissolves anything on contact, effectively stopping any enemy advance.

2. 3D Surveillance Network

Gold Ability Users will construct 32 watchtowers by stacking derelict vehicles.

Each tower top will be equipped with special devices: At night, fluorescent dandelions cultivated by Wood Element Ability Users will float in mid-air and illuminate the surroundings;

Water Ability Users will create liquid lenses that refract light like mirrors, allowing for long-range observation;

Furthermore, resonant ground piles molded by Earth Ability Users will detect ground vibrations.

Together, these components will form a comprehensive 3D surveillance network.

II. Urban Functional Zoning

1. Core District (Site of the former City Hall)

In the Core District, at the site of the former City Hall, Superpower Users will undertake a series of crucial construction tasks.

First, the earth will be excavated to construct a terraced fortress, with a command center established 20 meters underground.

Second, metal materials will be used to repair communications equipment, and metal wires will be woven into an electromagnetic shielding net.

Finally, Wood Element Ability Users will be tasked with cultivating phosphorescent moss on the vaulted ceilings to provide illumination.

2. Survival Support Ring

① Agricultural District (Eastern Plains)

An agricultural district will be established on the eastern plains.

Here, a three-level vertical farming system will be employed, using the power of the Wood Element to cultivate radiation-resistant crops.

For irrigation, Water Ability Users will construct a drip irrigation system that meets the crops’ water needs by collecting morning dew and purifying wastewater.

To address soil contamination from acid rain, Earth Ability Users will employ elemental displacement techniques to recondition the land, making previously unarable soil fertile and capable of yielding healthy crops.

② Energy District (Southern Industrial Park)

In the Energy District at the southern industrial park, the different elemental users will have a clear division of labor to collectively advance energy projects.

Gold Ability Users will be responsible for reassembling steam turbines, and Wood Element Ability Users will provide biogas as fuel for the turbines;

Water Ability Users will leverage the circulatory system of the moat and groundwater to construct a temperature-differential power plant;

Earth Ability Users will dig deep geothermal wells, using metal pipes in conjunction to conduct heat and efficiently harness geothermal energy.

③ Production Ring (Western Ruins)

In the Production Ring located in the western ruins, the responsibility of the Gold Ability Users will be to smelt and forge metal into various components, providing raw materials for subsequent manufacturing processes.

Earth Ability Users will focus on using existing materials, reshaping concrete through various processes to meet different production requirements.

Wood Element Ability Users will be responsible for extracting a bio-adhesive from vine secretions. This adhesive can effectively bond various materials, enhancing structural stability.

The role of the Water Ability Users is vital. They will be responsible for maintaining the cooling systems, ensuring temperatures remain stable throughout the production process. This prevents equipment from overheating and failing, which would otherwise impact production efficiency and quality.
