Pillar of Yita

Giant claws like mountains were rising from the ground with an imposing momentum. The minds of Jiefulite and the Blood Oath Alliance members went blank. Forgetting Fang Hong in front of them, they were consumed by a single thought—escape.

Everyone shouted and scattered in all directions, including the Night Lizard People—who, despite their fervor in reviving their gods and the glory of the Xinsas Era, were not fools. But as these people dispersed, a path opened up before Fang Hong.

At this moment, Fang Hong was holding his breath, his palms equally sweaty with tension. The others might not understand, but how could he be unclear—that was not any Dragon Knight Rigging. The direction in which that bony claw was shrouding was actually targeting him, and it would not show him any favor for being a ’Dragon Knight’.

If these people had been more stubborn, he feared he would have to be buried here with them, but luckily, there were more clever people. For the first time, Fang Hong felt that it was a good thing that his opponents were not too stupid. Seeing everyone scatter, he immediately summoned the Energy Angel, who took him in three consecutive blinks, shooting forward.

Before him lay an open, ancient street block with stone-carved slates paving the road, and on both sides of the street rose towering obelisks constructed of obsidian. Just as Fang Hong touched down, the giant claw heavily slammed down just ten meters behind him, raising a wave of mud, carrying the rolling slates up from behind.

Although Fang Hong was prepared, he still underestimated the force of the blow. The wave of earth hit him, flinging him into the air and crashing against a nearby obelisk.

He hit with such force that he felt dizzy, and after tumbling down, he lay on the ground for a good while, unable to catch his breath as if his spine had been shattered.

Fortunately, after the giant claw deeply cut into the ground, it did not move any further. It seemed to be dragging some huge creature up slowly from below. After a while, ’it’ extended another claw, but it cut into another street block. Then came the third and fourth bone claws, fanning out and gripping the edges of the main island.

It wasn’t until Fang Hong took several deep breaths that he regained his senses from seeing stars. He checked his status; just the previous collision had left him on the brink of death, with neither shield nor block value offering any help—this was just the aftermath of the shockwave he was hit by. A direct hit would have been enough to kill him ten times over.

Fang Hong took out the second healing potion from his potion band, unscrewed the stopper, and gulped it down, understanding that this was the overwhelming attack of a massive creature—where typical shields and block effects were nearly ineffective and health was barely enough, only evasion was somewhat reliable, albeit greatly reduced.

But his evasion was nowhere near enough, and after discount, it was almost nothing.

Nevertheless, Fang Hong remained calm, knowing that healing was just to restore physical fitness. His life condition was closely related to his stamina. Although the healing potion couldn’t restore him to his peak, it was enough to bring him out of a severely injured state.

Indeed, after taking the potion, Fang Hong regained some strength, enough to lean against the obsidian obelisk and stand up. After a while, as the bloodline rose, the dizziness in his eyes gradually faded, and his chaotic heartbeat slowly returned to its normal rate.

He looked around and found his Energy Angel had fallen on the other side of the street. With a gesture, he called it back to his side. Thankfully, it hadn’t suffered any major issues. After the Energy Angel stood up, its right foot was only slightly less nimble. He checked the panel and discovered a 5% damage to the structural organization from the previous collision.

There was no time for repairs, but fortunately, such minor damage was not a big deal.

Fang Hong put away the Energy Angel. Its consecutive blinks earlier had used up nearly half of its magic power, and now he had no spare Energy Angels to switch with. Considering that the Energy Angel’s magic power was equivalent to his own life, he could only try not to use it in combat from now on.

Meanwhile, the Jiefulite Red Cloak Team, Blood Oath Alliance, and Night Lizard People had come to their senses. Seeing the scene before, how could they not understand that Fang Hong had fooled them once again?

The captains and vice-captains of the Jiefulite Red Cloak Team and Blood Oath Alliance nearly blacked out, repeatedly treated like fools. Anyone would be driven to rage, but at least they retained some sense of reason and shouted,

”Go ahead and block him!”

Because behind them was the bone mountain still emerging from the mist.

The size of those bone claws was truly chilling, belonging to the ancient Sanctuary of the Xinsas Era—the Sun Gods in their Holy Sanctuary leaving anything with divine strength, or a Guardian, was a common occurrence.

Although the colossal creature was not any Dragon Knight Construct, it surely wouldn’t mind crushing a few insignificant ants like them.

Of course, Fang Hong heard the commotion of these people.

But how could he possibly give them that chance? While avoiding the giant claw earlier, these people had scattered to the left and right, while he had blinked forward. Thus, from the start, their positions had switched, and at this moment, his starting line was naturally ahead of the others.

Without hesitation, Fang Hong turned and dashed into an alley on the side.

He was well aware of his slight lead, but in terms of profession, an Alchemist’s stamina could not compete with the warrior’s, and his agility was far less compared to rangers and Nightingales. After all, a Combat Artisan was still half Life Profession—even though he haphazardly switched all plugins on his Magic Guided Reactor to agility-boosting, he was nowhere near the level of Level 15 Agility System Professions.
