Pillar of Yita

The Undead were within striking distance.

Under KUN’s command, everyone changed formation. The squads that were originally behind guarding the spellcasters and ranged classes to avoid direct impacts also threaded through the crowd, moving up front to further reinforce the frontline’s attacking spearhead. The distance to charge was right before their eyes, and the knights once again raised their swords—no need to wait for orders, as their morale was at its peak after a successful breakthrough.

Everyone consciously drank their Stamina Potions, then inserted the Cooling Crystals into the top of their Magic Guided Reactors.

The Ether Conduit on the Magic Guided Reactor was now shining almost a blazing gold, and the surging Magic Power combined with their heightened morale made everyone feel as though they possessed infinite strength. The weak, skeletal figures were now insignificant in everyone’s eyes, and the silver spearhead cut into the sea of Undead from the front.

But as soon as contact was made, everyone felt resistance.

The levels of the Undead had also increased.

Fang Hong immediately understood the problem. Salrutaka’s power was weakening, while Toragotos’s power was strengthening. As the two forces ebbed and flowed, the Puzzle Lock on this Black Holy City became unstable.

It was already seizing the power of this Lizardmen deity, and once its power reached a critical point, one could imagine the barrier here would no longer keep it from invading.

But he also realized the problem.

The others in the command center naturally were not much slower to understand.

”Their speed has slowed—”

”Salrutaka’s power is weakening.”

”Those Undead have surpassed the trial’s level cap.”

”Miss Virus, can you help with anything on your end?”

Virus shook her head. If it was just one or two High Rank Undead, she might have been able to help them find a weakness, but in a battle of this scale, data analysis was of little use. Besides, there was more than one type of Undead on the isle.

”If Toragotos’s power continues to grow, it’s going to be even harder later on.”

”We must speed up further!”

Chenxi turned around and said, ”Nether, get that kid on your end to push harder.”

But Nether shook her head and remained silent.

She understood that the kid was certainly aware of the predicament they were in, but this was not a situation that could be overcome by willpower. In Eteliria, the suppression of levels wasn’t always obvious—since many geniuses could fight across levels.

But sometimes, it was like a wide chasm that couldn’t be crossed, especially in large-scale battles where the advantage of level was all too clear.

What else could he do?

She thought.

Unconsciously, it seemed everyone had come to regard this big boy as an omnipotent being, but even geniuses have their moments of stopping. There are some situations in the world that cannot be changed by human effort.

Fang Hong paused for a moment.

He looked back at everyone around him, all embroiled in fierce combat. Their momentum, like a rainbow after a successful breakout, made everyone excited, with their physical exhaustion seemingly suppressed by the temporary frenzy.

But he knew that if this battle dragged on, their exhaustion would multiply, and by then they would be unable to advance.

Many thoughts flashed through his mind, but he finally made up his mind and whispered loudly, ”First and second squads, Berserk Potion.”

”This early!?”

Not just the people from Silver Weslan fighting, but even everyone in the emergency command center was shocked.

The Berserk Potion was naturally also part of the military supplies delivered—this potion was not exactly rare, often essential in various battles and missions. Normally, one didn’t need too much, one bottle was enough, because, like the Berserker’s rage ability, it could greatly amplify the strength of Strength Type Chosen in a short period, but as the name implied, there was also a heavy downside.

Just the period of weakness after going berserk lasted a full half hour, not to mention the negative penalties on experience, so such drugs were usually seen by the Chosen as a last-ditch effort. But they had only just reached the second isle, seemingly a long way from the concept of ’last.’

Now to have a third of the team take the Berserk Potion, what would they do for the next two isles?

But Chenxi and others quickly realized—he probably couldn’t worry about that anymore.

Indeed, Fang Hong wasn’t being hot-headed at all, on the contrary, he was exceedingly calm. He keenly realized that if they slowed down here, the more resistance they would encounter later on.

As Toragotos’s power further increased, by that time they might not even be able to reach the third or even the fourth isle.

While it seemed like a desperate strategy, they had to choose this path for now.

Fang Hong actually understood that this mission itself was a gamble, Toragotos’s plan that had been brewing for many decades left them little opportunity. If they couldn’t find that one slim chance of survival in a desperate situation, this ’mission’ would likely be impossible to complete.

The Southern Continent.

The entire Golande Harbor was now shrouded in an eerie silence.

As mentioned earlier, the Berserk Potion was not a precious potion; ordinary people above Level Two often came into contact with this kind of potion, and for this reason, it had quite a reputation among the Chosen and the Natives.
