Pillar of Yita

The deputy also answered somewhat uncertainly, ”It seems to be the preliminaries over there, Captain. Perhaps something happened?” Zhang Tianmiu shook his head, glanced at the tall man’s retreating figure, and gestured to his deputy, ”Let’s go check it out.”

After saying that, he followed.

”Ah? Captain, wait for me!”

...

The first round of the main competition was nearing its end.

Among the four competitors, they came from Elpaxin Artisan Association, Tabopolis Oak Knights, and Silver Forest Spear, with the competitor from Elpaxin Artisan Association being a young man in his twenties, a Level 14 Combat Artisan.

His opponent was Wu Di from Silver Forest Spear, who, although lower in level, dominated the match.

Soon, the young man’s Walker III was sent flying out by Wu Di’s Shield Bearer II, damaging the structure. Although his Life Points had not yet zeroed out, the young man gracefully admitted defeat.

After shaking hands with Wu Di, he walked off the arena.

Seeing this scene, Tianlan snorted disdainfully as she lay on the table.

She had a very bad impression of the two who had bumped into Gita and had not apologized, Wu Di included, although he wasn’t the main culprit, his attitude was no better.

Not just her, Luo Yu who was watching nearby also frowned — however, his reason for frowning was not the same; it was because the competitor from Tabopolis Oak Knights was about to be defeated.

His opponent was the youth who had earlier bumped into Gita — according to Tianlan, the main culprit among the offenders.

Honestly, they had not anticipated that the two ’genius youths’ representing Silver Forest Spear were the very ones they had clashes with before. And their swaggering on the field had this little French girl gnashing her teeth in anger.

Luo Yu glanced at Gita.

But Gita was indifferent to the match, his long eyelashes drooping as he sipped milk from a wooden cup he held in both hands. Noticing his gaze, Gita curiously lifted his head and blinked in confusion at Luo Yu.

A thin line of white froth sat adorably on his upper lip.

”Red Leaf is going to lose.”

”She didn’t expect to win anyway,” Gita said in a soft, mellifluous voice, holding the cup, ”Those two are the long-rumored genius combat artisans of Silver Forest Spear’s seventh group. There’s too much difference between them.”

Luo Yu nodded, ”Indeed, the opponents are strong.”

Tianlan got even more irritated upon hearing this, squinting her eyes at them, ”Hey, what are you talking about? What makes these guys strong?”

Gita startled, hastily signaling Luo Yu with his eyes.

But Luo Yu, oblivious, earnestly organized his statement, ”Be it reflexes, control, or tactical judgment, they are top notch. The key is their Flexible Constructs don’t have the stiffness usually seen in under second-tier craftsmen, which is quite rare.”

Tianlan scoffed, ”How do they compare with professional craftsmen then?”

Luo Yu flinched, ”Of course, they can’t compare. Even non-professional combat artisans above the third tier are no match for them. But it’s not a matter of skill, it’s about level.”

”Then what are you bragging about? I think Brother Ade could easily defeat those two guys.”

Gita quickly tugged at Luo Yu’s sleeve.

But Luo Yu was still pondering and shook his head, ”—I doubt it, their military Magic Guided Reactor is excellent, even allowing them to use complex constructs like the Shield Bearer II beyond their level. While as for Mr. Ade, I don’t know his capabilities, but his equipment is far inferior.”

”What kind of hero relies on equipment?”

”Equipment is also a facet of strength,” Luo Yu said earnestly, ”And it’s not just the Magic Guided Reactor that allows them to control such complex constructs, it must also be their high skill level.”

Gita, hearing this, knew trouble was brewing.

He sat back in his chair and adorably buried his head, pretending everything was unrelated to him.

Indeed, Tianlan couldn’t hold back her fury upon hearing Luo Yu’s words, slamming the table as she stood up, ”After all that, you’re just boosting their morale and undermining our own spirit. I didn’t expect you to be that kind of person!”

The young man was taken aback, ”How did you interpret that? I was just being realistic!”

”What realism? Those jerks hit Gita and didn’t even apologize; they lack basic manners, how could they possibly be impressive Invokers? If professional combat artisans are all like this, then I prefer Brother Ade to be a non-professional!”

”Okay,” Luo Yu was about to speak, but the little French girl interrupted him again, fuming, ”Luo, you don’t happen to be planning to join that Silver Forest Spear, speaking in favor of these outsiders, do you?”

Luo Yu was shocked, wondering how the conversation had veered to professional or non-professional status, besides what did being a strong Invoker have to do with manners?

He quickly defended himself, ”What are you talking about? I’m a member of the Tabopolis Oak Knights, how could I possibly join Silver Forest Spear?”

”Oh—” Tianlan suddenly realized, ”That’s what you meant, you and Silver Forest Spear belong to that Rainbow Alliance, birds of a feather.”

Luo Yu was speechless.

He couldn’t help but turn to Gita and said, ”Gita, say something, this damned foreign woman is now being unreasonable—Tata, what are you up to?”

Gita pulled his hood over his head, covered his ears with his hands, pretending to be an ostrich.
