Pillar of Yita

Tianlan was making a fuss, urging him to install the Magic Guided Reactor and see how much of an improvement it would make—after all, the primary test for a Combat Artisan who got a new Magic Guided Reactor was, frankly, Multi-Control.

Fang Hong actually wanted to try it himself.

Of course, something earth-shattering like five-control was out of the question; he had that much sense. He planned to attempt Dual Control—if others didn’t know his level, Dual Control wouldn’t be too conspicuous either.

He was just about to ask where nearby he could rent a Clockwork Fairy—since Clockwork Fairies don’t require the user to possess Magical Adaptability, they are not merely a tool but more like a toy in Eteliria.

Making a Clockwork Fairy take flight isn’t difficult, so long as one has a certain amount of magical knowledge. What’s difficult is maintaining steady and stable control. Thus, competitions to see who can control one better and longer have become a trend across the continent—especially in the Osh Empire, where there are even related competitions, it’s said.

Of course, these competitions are targeted at the general populace, and ordinary alchemists, let alone Combat Artisans, are usually not permitted to participate.

Because of this trend, one can generally find a Flexible Construct rental shop anywhere there are people.

But just at that moment, two hurried teenagers walked into the inn from outside, barely glancing at Fang Hong and his group as they passed by. However, due to their haste, the one in the back bumped into Gita, who let out a startled yell and nearly fell to the ground.

Gita clutched her ’Emerald Bird’ α tightly, clearly quite frightened, her face ashen. Yet, instead of apologizing, the boy who had bumped into her turned around, complained gruffly, ”Don’t you have eyes when you walk?”

Fang Hong flared up at once. They had been standing still, not moving an inch, and the one who had caused the collision had the gall to act so righteous.

Tianlan was even more fiery, raising her voice, ”Quite self-aware, aren’t you? Don’t you have eyes when you walk?”

The teenager probably hadn’t expected these idle adventurers to talk back, so he hesitated for a moment before asking darkly, ”What did you say?”

Fang Hong’s hand shot to his backpack—where he kept his Walker.

However, Atira at the back grabbed both him and Tianlan with one hand each and whispered, ”Don’t start anything here; they are people from the Silver Forest Spear.”

By then, Fang Hong had already recognized the other’s battle robe—

At that moment, the teenager’s companion also walked back, but he didn’t even glance at Fang Hong and the others as if they were air, simply saying, ”Hurry up, we are going to be late.”

Only then did the troublemaker nod, but before leaving, he couldn’t help but sneer at Gita, ”Treating a piece of magic guided junk that’s only worth a few tens of thousands like a treasure.” After that comment, he turned and left with his companion.

Tianlan was ready to explode with fury, eager to give those two arrogant jerks a piece of her mind, but Atira wouldn’t allow it. Unable to contain her frustration, Tianlan protested, ”Sister Atira, let me go. I’m going to confront those two condescending idiots!”

Atira shook her head.

But Fang Hong looked at her, then gently lowered his hand. He had clearly heard when Elf Miss said not to start anything here, which suggested there was another place to settle the matter—the implication in the Elf Miss’s hint wasn’t lost on him.

But at that moment, Gita whispered, ”Their Magic Guided Reactor... ”

Fang Hong silently nodded.

It was the ’Central Nerve’ AEM model, a military version of the Combat Artisan Magic Guided Reactor.

The other was a rookie Combat Artisan, too.

Both of them were.
