COTE: A Man On A Mission || Love is War?

Even though Suzune has finally decided to help, Hachiman knows very well... reality....what she’s desperately trying to bury under the ground.

She has a mild cold...

’But, then why are you so enthusiastic about taking the initiative to help?’

Yeah, Hachiman doesn’t think so, from past months sitting beside this girl named, Suzune, he knew she doesn’t like to work.

Always find an excuse to slack off.

Just useless, can only rely on Kushida!

Other reason....Maybe Horikita had something to talk about?

In this way, the two of them followed a group which is very kindly asked by Hirata to collect firewood in the southwest direction, which was a forest.

Looking for branches is the easiest.

“We still don’t know how primitive this island is, and what dangers may lie ahead,” Suzune parted her lips, deliberate making herself look cool.

Sharing knowledge right and left, even though Suzune never went on camping.

And, now she is walking next to Hachiman.

There were probably other people around, and Suzune was feeling unwell, but tried her best to act like nothing happened.

“Are you talking about snakes?”

“It’s not just snakes, haven’t you noticed? The trees on this island are quite tall, so the danger of some wild animals moving is very high....”

Her fox-like red eyes frantically moving around to notice even a single hint of live action.

By holding her right elbow, with the left....

’I just noticed another similarity between these 2 Horikita’s...’

’One likes to push his glasses, while his little sister... holding her elbow.’

’Although it’s quite rude to say this, but Horikita is indeed cuter in her sick state....’

“My point of view is the exact opposite to yours”

“Hmm?”

“Our bracelets are equipped with GPS and many sensor devices. Also, don’t forget what people like to do most in school.....

“There must be a bunch of cameras on the island, so I don’t think students will get any kind of har-”

“Stop talking, I already knew that!”

“???” Hachiman. ’Why am I being reported? If you know, then don’t provide fake data!”

“By the way, are you afraid of snakes?”

“Of course, not!” Suzune even glared at Hachiman with a cruel look, for looking down on her powers.

She didn’t like being treated as an ordinary person, “My family’s restaurant also has dishes related to snakes. I’ve been.....”

“Yes, yes--I already know you were alone since Kindergarten!” Hachiman exasperated in a loud voice, gaining the cold looks from other people.

“.....” Suzune’s cheeks turned dark red in anger, even narrowing her eyes cutely at the boy moving beside, “I don’t mind you talking about my lone past, but can you please stop exposing me?” her voice a bit forced.

“....Okay...What?” Even though Hachiman felt like stepping on Suzune’s land mine again, he was really getting irritated with these people looking back, and making weird faces at him.

“Go die” Random boy, who just came out with Sudo, muttered lowly, and turned his face to look out for nearby suitable wood.

“Horikita, did you just hear, what this guy said?”

“Huh...I never paid attention to what others were doing, besides you just talked about Snakes....”

“Yeah, do you want to add something?

“Mm-hm, I’ve been exposed to them, since I was a child, so I’m not afraid.” Suzune’s face even gave a idea of being proud, not being humble at all.

’I don’t like to play with my words, like Kushida-san....’

Then, you are very brave.

Only, Hachiman is very resistant to creatures with no legs.

When the two of them continued to make a normal convo again, a girl’s scream was heard.

“S-Snakes... I need help!”

“I don’t want to die!”

The team in front who just volunteered, after being fooled by Hirata to collect firewood suddenly dispersed.

It seems that most people are afraid.

”Why are there so many?!” Among them, Sudo, who was part of the firewood-gathering team, also retreated back.

“.....“ It’s just a little snake, even a macho guy like him is afraid of it?

Just as Hachiman was about to speak, he suddenly made a halt because...

’...I found a creature with no legs moving in the grass next to my right foot, and then a snake’s head suddenly appeared, “Horikita!”

Now, tied up his left foot.

’I’m afraid it will bite me in the next second....

Damn it, I just said earlier about spending all the points out of consideration for Horikita’s physical body....’

That’s a very gentlemanly thing to do.

’But now, am I going to withdraw from the exam because of injury?!’

Even though Hachiman is scared out of his mind, and curing bad luck to death.

He noticed that Suzune just calmly moved forward with one hand and took action.

’I even saw her directly pinching that snake of 8 inches, and before the animal could react, Horikita just threw it away like garbage....’

Wooahhh!

For a time, Suzune’s both cuteness and her reliability were off the charts.

Hikigaya Hachiman felt a strong sense of security, being around her.

“What?”

Suzune, couldn’t help but notice that one of her exam partners had been staring at her from the beginning.

“Nothing.....” Hachiman shook his head immediately.

’I just felt that Horikita’s image was getting particularly tall....’

Generally speaking, boys like to conquer, but he found that strong girls seemed pretty good too.

Hachiman just discovered that he may have a little M gene.

’But if wife forced me about work later, then I may just have to do that very obediently....’

’So, maybe I will become a migrant employee?’

Probably because this idea was too dangerous, he quickly eliminated this terrible gene.
