From BOSS to Canon Fodder: She is Currently Out of Service!

”Latest news?” Gu Ningyi and Su Jiameng sat down one after the other. ”About the Green Wolf Star Thief Alliance or the Fifth Expeditionary Army?”

”Neither. This situation is far more complicated than we initially thought. Besides the Xilena Fifth Expeditionary Army, Augustus has also recently dispatched an expeditionary force. We thought it was a battle between two sides, but it’s turned into a three-way melee.”

”Augustus’s military department expeditionary forces?” Su Jiameng murmured softly. The already complex situation became even more tangled with Augustus’s involvement, completely impossible to understand. ”Are they here as support, or are they independently fighting against the Green Wolf Star Thief Group?”

”That is unclear, but according to reliable sources, Augustus’s anger and action seem related to a military warship recently plundered by the Green Wolf Star Thief Group. It doesn’t seem like a conspiracy; it’s entirely the Star Thief Alliance digging their own grave...” Luo Xin was also taken aback upon hearing this. Typically, star thieves have basic boundaries and wouldn’t provoke military warships easily.

But this time, the Green Wolf Star Thief Alliance suddenly went mad, attacking Augustus’s military and snatching a highly confidential warship, isn’t that just courting death? Moreover, from the immediate response of Augustus after the warship was plundered, it shows that the secret on the warship is probably of great importance. Augustus’s nervousness indicates the possibility that the secret might fall into Xilena’s hands...

Do not be fooled, even though the Top Ten Star Systems of the Human Alliance appear united against outsiders, there’s inevitable competition between them, even subtly opposing stances. The expeditionary forces of these two major star systems being here likely have significant motives.

”It looks like there’s no conspiracy, but it’s the biggest conspiracy... I still need to think about the key, but I have a vague feeling... perhaps this time we’ve stumbled upon something extraordinary.” Su Jiameng’s expression suddenly turned serious. ”To outsiders, it seems like Augustus and Xilena’s expeditionary forces are teaming up against the Green Wolf Star Thief Alliance. However, the truth is...”

Gu Ningyi interjected, ”Is Augustus’s side targeting Xilena and the Green Wolf Star Thief Alliance because of the major secret possibly on that warship? If so, this also explains why Yun Cuixi is leading the Fifth Expeditionary Army...”

It appears to be an expedition to clear and purge, but in reality, the motive lies with the secret of that warship!

Since Yun Cuixi is leading, the two parties can secretly hand over the secret amidst the fight, unnoticed—Augustus wouldn’t even be able to spot the mistake, only thinking that the secret is still with the Green Wolf Star Thief Alliance, not suspecting that it has already fallen into Xilena...or rather into that research institute’s hands!

Something that could interest that insane research institute... could it be anything good?

Imagining the existence of Yun Cuixi and her group, Gu Ningyi couldn’t help but feel a bit of a chill down his spine. With the likely appearance of the Insect Race eyeing them fiercely, and internal members of the Human Alliance continually making mistakes, it truly resembles a perfect opponent and idiotic allies partnership, oh damn!

Gu Ningyi was able to think of these things; how could Su Jiameng not? Moreover, she thought even further, tightening her fists a little as she sighed, ”I always thought Yun Cuixi had the smallest influence among the nine, but it turns out he’s the most troublesome one. Had I known earlier, I should have gotten rid of him root and branch from the start!”

Yun Cuixi is an Alliance Major General and holds considerable sway in the Xilena Star System’s military department as a high-ranking officer.

This position increases his exposure but also lowers others’ psychological defenses... No one would suspect such a positive image of a soldier would actually be a dirty deceiver! Through Yun Cuixi and others’ power, that research institute can even indirectly influence the military’s actions... It’s truly eye-opening.

Listening to their nebulous conversation, a trace of confusion flashed across Luo Xin’s face. Aren’t we all in the same boat? Why can’t she understand a word of their conversation? Without a common language, how can we enjoy playing together? Friendship over, so frustrating.

”Currently... should we try to investigate what that secret really is?” Gu Ningyi suggested.

”I don’t think we need to go out of our way, as searching now might alert them. Since they have such plans and use purging as a blinding technique, they would likely choose to transfer the secret at the peak of battle when everyone is too caught up to pay attention.” Su Jiameng suddenly sneered, ”What we should do is keep our energy up and wait for the rabbit to come to us.”

After saying this, Su Jiameng added, ”This idea is feasible, but we still need to confirm a few doubts. Otherwise, if we’re wrong, we’ll miss our chance and end up at a loss instead.”

Gu Ningyi understood, nodding, ”Being cautious is good; it’s best to ensure everything is foolproof.”

Luo Xin: ”...”

_(:з)∠)_ Can someone tell her what the heck these two are talking about! Going mad! Clearly, she is Su Jiameng’s ally and partner, right? If anyone should be discussing things, it’s them, while Gu Ningyi should be off in the corner growing mushrooms or getting soy sauce! Why is this guy suddenly jumping in to steal the show! Outrageous, our friendship is over!

The two exchanged a glance that they both understood, then suddenly realized that there was still a little partner, Luo Xin, here. This clueless guy, Gu Ningyi, even dumbly asked, ”Luo Xin, do you think this is feasible?”

Luo Xin chuckled twice, sniggering as she said, ”You decide, but I’ve got to tell you, I’m quite poor here, so handle lunch yourselves... Please leave!”

Su Jiameng & Gu Ningyi: ”...” (To be continued. If you like this work, you are welcome to vote for recommendations and monthly tickets on Qidian.com. Your support is my greatest motivation. Mobile users, please visit m.qidian.com to read.)
