From BOSS to Canon Fodder: She is Currently Out of Service!

Xu Lei did not agree with this speculation, ”I think... the possibility of dying alone and quietly of old age is very high...”

He speculated this for a reason. Looking back, all the popular male and female supporting characters that appeared have met tragic ends; none ended well, and it’s hard to imagine anyone accompanying Major General Su to the end alive...

Moreover, this novel doesn’t focus on romance as its main storyline, but instead follows ”Major General Su” from childhood to adulthood. Readers witness this character growing from a babbling toddler into a formidable Alliance Warrior.

Love? It seems the protagonist only fell for someone once, and that romance ended unresolved. As for subsequent characters, although the feelings run deep, they remain strictly friends or comrades. Of course, there are all sorts of fanfiction with wild imaginations in the novel’s review section, which we can simply ignore. During the dull waiting for updates, many die-hard fans also started writing their fanfiction, revolving around various pairings with Major General Su.

Recently, Xu Na has been following a fanfic written by a user named [Lethe Past Life], with a minor character [Wu Su] as the perspective. Honestly, when Xu Na saw the name [Wu Su], she thought it was a made-up character, but the author claimed it was an original character. Xu Na didn’t believe it, and after searching for a long time, she finally found this character.

Wu Su, a childhood friend of Major General Su, with very little presence. It’s unclear how this author conceived the idea to write from this perspective. Of course, according to the author, [Wu Su] and [Major General Su] are just very good friends...

Who would believe that! Look at the fanfic reviews, aren’t they all shipping pairs? After Xu Na followed the story, she secretly hoped for an intense relationship to develop between these two! She even generously made the post a sticky!

Luckily, Su Jiameng doesn’t have the habit of checking the review section, and at Xu Na and Lucy’s request, she had handed over management rights to them. Otherwise, seeing all these vividly described fanfics... she would’ve been utterly flabbergasted!

Fanfiction overwhelming the official story, who would’ve thought, she didn’t know she was so popular, attracting so many admirers, both hidden and open admirers, with all sorts of dynamics, twisted and deep? It’s terrifying, the world of fanfics...

Xu Lei’s response was quite close to a BE (Bad End) conclusion. K3 disagreed and added, ”I rather think... there’s a high chance of dying in battle. Considering the novel’s grand setting, the Insect Race is truly tough to deal with, and Major General Su is just one person. Her strength isn’t formidable enough to punch the Insect Imperial and kick the Insect King. How could one wipe out an entire race alone?”

”No way... Boss Qin, your thought is too pessimistic! No matter how strong the enemy is, novels always end with defeating the BOSS before concluding...” Xu Na wailed. According to K3’s description, the Insect Race wasn’t defeated, yet the protagonist Major General Su died, ”I rather think... maybe Major General Su will become an Alliance Marshal as the ending? Xiao Meng, hurry and reveal the mystery, what’s the ending?”

Su Jiameng propped her chin with one hand, thinking she better not reveal such a disappointing ending... Xu Na’s right, a novel is just a novel, and no matter how tragic, it’s permissible, but the ending of ”Major General Su” is...

Sigh, if it were really written, she could imagine the review section flooded with ”Awful, a cliffhanger”, ”Author, let’s talk about life on the rooftop”, ”Author, see you after class” comments!

Since it’s a novel, it should follow a novel-like style... Uh, perhaps she should go back and modify the ending to be a bit more artistic. Thinking about it, Su Jiameng said, ”According to my original thought, the protagonist indeed had a tragic end... but after seeing your discussions, I feel like giving her a relatively happier ending...”

”Became one of the top ten Alliance Marshals? How powerful in the end? Is the male lead as handsome as to shatter the heavens?” This was Xu Na’s comment.

”Definitely ends up alone, leisurely watching the clouds drift by, living a peaceful life, right, Xiao Meng?” This was Xu Lei.

”Why do you all expect a tragedy? Xiao Meng is so lively, it must be a HE (Happy End) conclusion. Right? Xiao Meng, it’s just the few of us here, can you reveal who the final male lead is? How many children does the protagonist end up having?” Lucy firmly believed in a HE.

K3 remained silent, in fact, he also read that novel out of boredom, finding its depictions so realistic one might doubted... whether it was something happening in another world? The world-building is so complete, as the plot unfolds, a world filled with iron-blood and tenacity gradually becomes vivid and lifelike, with rich background characters... though the writing style is somewhat bland...
