Chapter 262: Chapter 130: Celebration and Drinking (Part 1)

This user was quite lucky; when Su Jiameng made her move, he was at the top of the second tallest building in the academy gathering materials, and he had very high-end photography equipment. Even though he was some distance from the high tower, he still managed to capture a lot of clear photos.

Seeing this post growing rapidly, Su Jiameng hesitated for a second before resolutely clicking ”View Thread Starter Only”! There were so many photos that they could’ve been turned into a simple ”animation” by flipping through them.

As an observer of her own actions, Su Jiameng remarked that this felt very peculiar. Of course, that strange and conflicted feeling didn’t last long, as she was quickly left speechless by the comments from netizens.

Some people were saying that this attack incident was entirely a commercial stunt, and the mastermind behind the hype was Su Jiameng herself in her ”Major General Su” state. They even said she wanted to use this opportunity to establish a perfect image among the public to lay the foundation for her future career...

To such speculations, all Su Jiameng could do, apart from twitching her mouth and retorting with things like ”this guy’s brain must be sick” or ”silly kid, you’re overthinking,” was wonder what else she could do? A publicity stunt? Have they read too many dumb novels?

There were also some cute kids who were completely won over by Su Jiameng’s actions and inclined to become her die-hard fans. For these clear-eyed and insightful folks, Su Jiameng could only admire them, acknowledging that their perception was spot on.

Of course, every forum post included some fluff as well as trolls intentionally trying to stir things up. However, Su Jiameng completely ignored these; what can she do about what others want to say?

Yet a particular user posting around the ten-thousandth reply caught her interest. This person neither praised nor criticized, nor did they add pointless commentary. Instead, they posted an image that was obviously photoshopped, but without any signs of editing visible at first glance...

Looking at that image, Su Jiameng’s hand trembled slightly as she stared at the virtual screen, unable to calm down for a long time. This image was a ”recreation” based on the photos provided by the thread starter, combining the bandaged outline and various shadows, painstakingly restoring a ”truth” of sorts.

In fact, if Su Jiameng’s second life’s face hadn’t been disfigured, this depiction was about seventy to eighty percent similar to her real appearance. Unfortunately, ”Major General Su” didn’t have that pretty of a face, that complete of an appearance, and the stories about being able to stop a child from crying weren’t for nothing.

After browsing Qiming Star’s forum, she discovered that today’s hot topics were mainly centered around a few subjects.

#Damn, since when was Xilena’s First Affiliated School so weak? Just became a target, feeling weary and unloved#

#Those who stepped up were really dashing, so handsome, handsome, handsome, not enough nosebleed slot#

#Feels like this attack was premeditated, wonder what explanation the Alliance will give, we demand the truth#

#Ahhhh—that black mecha was so cool, the woman with the lieutenant general rank was amazing too#

...Seeing these topics left Su Jiameng with a massive black line, and she couldn’t help but sigh. Due to the intervention of Su Jiameng and her team, Xilena’s First Affiliated School didn’t suffer much loss, with no students missing and only some with minor injuries, enough to get treated with a day in the hospital. The school only lost some buildings, which can be repaired back to their original state as long as there are Credit Points...

Because they hadn’t really experienced the bloodshed, hadn’t seen their usual companions being abducted or since then missing or dead, hadn’t witnessed with their own eyes their companions’ blood spilling, watching them die before them... these students have become complacent, thinking this really was just a ”joke”?

With these thoughts, Su Jiameng grew slightly irritated and snapped her mind console shut. Gu Ningxuan had been subtly watching Su Jiameng, and upon seeing her action, quickly averted his gaze, pretending nothing had happened.

After a short period, the door to this place opened once again, with Changxi, Luo Xin, and someone who looked strikingly similar to ”Gu Ningzhi”, Li You, entering one after another... Strange, where did that guy Gu Ningzhi go?

Probably noticing Su Jiameng’s confusion, Li You took the initiative to explain, ”That guy said he’s preparing to celebrate today’s successful action and has already gone ahead to prepare the things needed for the celebration. He’s planning to get drunk tonight, and if you’re not good with alcohol, you don’t have to drink...”

Facing Su Jiameng, Li You the lieutenant general had complex feelings. He wasn’t blind, and even though Gu Ningzhi repeatedly asked him not to doubt or monitor Su Jiameng, her actions deviated further each time, forcing him to question her.

”Drinking... and celebrating?” Su Jiameng twitched her mouth, feeling she couldn’t understand the logic of these guys at all. It was indeed a group activity earlier, but does that mean they should gather for a drink after the activity?

”Yeah.” Li You nodded. Actually, he didn’t agree with Gu Ningzhi’s actions much but what could he do since the guy insisted?

”Alright... a happy occasion is rare.” Su Jiameng mumbled quietly and cozied herself back onto the sofa, seemingly browsing interstellar network pages, but in reality, she was checking whether the task she applied for was completed...

The results were very satisfying, with the task not only being completed perfectly, but Su Jiameng also gained a lot of experience and Plane Points, receiving even additional Plane Points as a bonus. Her mood turned bright and sunny the instant she saw those Plane Points over twenty thousand.

Task Name: [Guard Xilena First Affiliated School, The Thwarted Conspiracy]

Task Applicant: Su Jiameng, Task Level: A, Task Completion Rate: 100%

Task Reward: Ten thousand Plane Points, one piece of Clay Ore, additional reward of five thousand Plane Points

With Plane Points, she could buy many things from the Plane Store, bringing lots of benefits. She was ready to take anything she could get. Although the points currently are not much, with continued effort, she could accumulate more...

Su Jiameng contemplated further, realizing she could turn the mission of catching the Alliance’s nine into a task, turn the Mecha Fighting Arena’s massive battle into a task, and apply to make many other tasks... Eventually, these would pile up over time. (To be continued. If you like this work, feel free to come to Qidian (qidian.com) to vote for recommendations and monthly tickets.
