Chapter 196: Chapter 97: Got You, Adhesive Devouring Worm

Having his learning interrupted, K3 didn’t seem to have much of a temper. But Su Yanjing, who was in a creative state, wasn’t as easygoing. If it weren’t for the fact that Su Lu was his Grand Uncle, he would have lost his temper, and he simply spat two words, ”Noisy pest.”

”What noisy pest? You really have no conscience. If it weren’t for me ordering takeout and paying with Credit Points, you’d be starving today. Good intentions aren’t rewarded. Besides, I’m your elder, you should respect the elder and cherish the young! Got it?”

Respect the elder... He was indeed this kid’s Grand Uncle, isn’t that old enough? Cherish the young... His actual age was one year younger than Su Yanjing, so it was fair to say cherish the young. In short, Su Lu had the upper hand over Su Yanjing for sure!

For this elder who liked to bully him, Su Yanjing had no choice but to tolerate it. The other party had an intimidatingly large seniority that even his parents had to respect. Damn seniority truly was a trap.

Su Jiameng arrived at the destination, where Guan Changxi was already waiting. The two of them neatly stored the aircraft, avoiding the academy’s occasional patrolling robots, and came to the shimmering lakeside. Once submerged to the lake’s bottom, they could get close to the research institute as much as possible, increasing their chances of success.

Su Jiameng boldly removed her takeout uniform, leaving only a tank top and shorts, then put on waterproof goggles, did some warm-up exercises, and turned to Changxi saying, ”You wait here, I’ll surface once I succeed!”

After speaking, she dove headfirst into the water, swimming agilely towards the depths of the lake. Since she had previously taken special medication, she could stay underwater for an hour. If she couldn’t accomplish it within an hour, then there would be trouble.

Through her invisible electronic glasses, she could determine which direction would bring her closest to the research station, making it quite convenient.

However, the lakebed seemed to hold its own secrets. When she took out a special lighting device, she discovered a thick layer of silt piled on the lakebed, beneath which lay countless bones. Judging by the bones, there were giant Alien Beasts, humans, and even a skeleton with both human and beast features... Seeing this reminded her of the youth devoured by the Adhesive Devouring Worm, making her heart sink.

So, this research institute wasn’t only conducting forbidden Insect Race gene research but also attempting to merge the genes of Alien Beasts, interstellar races, and humans, creating the masses of bones hidden beneath the lake? With this thought, her eyes grew colder.

With a slight movement, she swam to a bone pile and found an experimental tag still hanging on it, noting it was recent. Moving to another spot, she likewise found a tag on bones, but dated three days ago...

Upon closer inspection, she realized these remains weren’t abandoned here but ”preserved” here, ready to be used when research data was needed... Truly a natural and secure storage area.

No doubt, does this mean... a secret passage should connect to the research station here? For convenience in data collection?

Su Jiameng’s eyes narrowed, her spiritual power suddenly shivered, and she immediately hid herself.

In less than a minute, two heavily protected individuals swam by, carrying research equipment in their hands and strapped to their backs, skillfully taking something from a ”Cannibal Bird+Human” skeleton and left, their actions extremely practiced.

Seeing this scene, she became more certain of her hypothesis. Activating telekinesis to erase her presence, her entire body seemed to fuse with the lake water, swimming without causing any water currents, effortlessly following the two to a circular tunnel entrance.

Afraid of being discovered, she could only watch as the two entered. After cautiously waiting for three to five minutes and ensuring the coast was clear, she then attempted to approach the tunnel entrance, over three meters in diameter, ”This... is the secret passage into the research station? This place is wrapped in the research station’s Spiritual Barrier... it must be the destination.”

To others, such Spiritual Barriers would be obstructions, preventing them from reaching their target. But for Su Jiameng, a Mind Power User, Spiritual Barriers were excellent ”offensive tools” instead!

Raising her hand to cover the barrier, she closed her eyes and injected telekinesis through her hand into the Spiritual Barrier. With her palm as the center, her telekinesis spread diffusely until it enveloped the entire research station, ”Still too forced, telekinesis is recovering too little and too slowly.”

After taking a brief respite, Su Jiameng manipulated telekinesis to infiltrate the research station’s core control room. To uncover what research had been conducted, she unapologetically copied all the data from the database and then cut off and shut down the entire research station’s power system. All kinds of equipment entered a frenzied state, instantly stirring panic throughout the station.

”Finally...” Su Jiameng closed her eyes, her telekinesis gently rippling, creating layers of waves around her. When her telekinesis detected a familiar aura, it suddenly became sharp, ”Found you!”

Boom! The pitch-black underground research station descended into chaos due to Su Jiameng’s actions. Excited researchers in the lowest labs were passionately documenting and experimenting, oblivious to the sudden darkness that set them into disarray.

Yet in the next instant, their ”Stone of Hope” believed to be the ”revival of humanity and domination of the interstellar,” suddenly exploded into fragments, sticky mucus with a foul stench splattered onto the protective glass, slowly ooze down along its surface...

”This isn’t enough... If it’s only death, those so-called researchers can still extract needed genes from cells... already extracted genes must also be destroyed...” Su Jiameng muttered internally, crossing her arms before her chest, as countless strands of telekinesis obeyed her will, maneuvering like limbs, ”So, might as well do it cleanly!” (To be continued.
