Chapter 156: Chapter 77: Awkward Dream

The two little buns naturally didn’t understand her words, just bewilderment all around. After staying put for a little while, the restless little guys couldn’t stand the silence any longer and began rolling one by one, trying to slip far away from their mom’s line of sight. As long as they escaped, they could play to their heart’s content.

”These two kids...” Su Jiameng rubbed her forehead helplessly, feeling that these two would definitely be very naughty as they grew up!

That night, it was rare for her to sleep without being haunted by nightmares, though she dreamt of different scenarios. For example, the current scene...

Baby No. 1 was playing with a star-shaped doll and asked her in a soft voice, ”Mommy, do you know how to sing Twinkle, Twinkle Little Star?”

Su Jiameng supported her chin with one hand, looking around the room filled with a dreamy cotton-candy vibe, then lazily said to the perfectly carved little Beibi No. 1, ”Yes, I can sing it...” The tune was simple, and there was even a song like this in her second life, so of course, she knew it.

Baby No. 1 instantly drooped his face, looking as if he would cry, with a pitiful expression as if he had encountered a nasty human trafficker. Su Jiameng immediately felt a headache, as she found herself utterly defenseless against such small, weak children. Especially when this kid called her ”Mommy.”

At the mention of ”Mommy,” she couldn’t help but think of the two boys in her dreams who also called her ”Mom.” She always thought that if those two boys were still in their infancy, they would be this cute too, right? With this thought, she reached out to tease the kid a bit with her finger.

Next to them, the other baby, trying hard to maintain a serious face, saw that his brother was about to cry and tugged on Su Jiameng’s clothes, forcedly acting calm, ”Mommy, the correct answer should be ’I don’t know how’...understand?”

Su Jiameng nodded, saying, ”Mm, I understand. You also don’t be sad, let’s do it over again.”

Baby No. 1 turned to look at Baby No. 2, saw him nodding encouragingly, and a hint of timidness flashed across his small face. But eventually, he followed the script and asked again, ”Mommy, do you know how to sing Twinkle, Twinkle Little Star?”

Su Jiameng cooperated by shaking her head, ”I don’t know.”

A hint of joy flashed across Baby No. 1’s face, looking at her expectantly, ”Then can I teach you?”

Su Jiameng, with boredom, propped up her chin, tilted her head, and calmly uttered, ”No...”

The adult and the two kids instantly fell silent. After a long moment, Baby No. 1, with eyes reddened and tears streaming, snot and tears covering his face, plunged into Baby No. 2, crying out loudly while accusing Su Jiameng, ”Mommy is a bad person...”

Su Jiameng: ”...” She seemingly hadn’t done anything?

After that, the dream was filled with the cries of this child. It was unbelievable where he got so many tears from; he cried for two to three hours without taking a breath. Su Jiameng tried her best to appease him with coaxing, but he was unyielding.

Morning sunlight filtered through the windows onto the sleeping, serene girl. Su Jiameng opened her eyes and, feeling somewhat dizzy, held her forehead. Whoever listened to an ultra-long, continuous, unbreathing, unpausing cry would naturally feel this nerve-wracking sensation.

”Oh my god... if this were really my child... too terrifying...” Su Jiameng, with a foggy mind, went to endure the rigorous whip of the teaching system, only to end up severely injured, almost to the point of vomiting blood from being brutalized!

After training, she barely managed to recover half of her lost life and lay in the recuperation chamber to rest. In her dream once again, she found herself back in that room formerly filled with wails. But this time, only one child was present, judging from his little serious face, it should be Baby No. 2. She went over and squatted down to look at him, asking, ”Where did that little brother of yours, the one who only knows how to cry, go?”

That baby No. 2, in a serious tone and with a glance of reproach and a touch of pity, said, ”He went to another place to continue crying.”

Su Jiameng was greatly embarrassed, as it seemed the other party didn’t quite like her... Or perhaps, because she had made his brother cry earlier, this kid temporarily wasn’t fond of Su Jiameng? Whatever the reason, that child continued playing his own game, completely ignoring her.

Just as Su Jiameng was calculating when the recuperation chamber would open and when she could escape from this dream, the doll suddenly furrowed his little face, his small eyes occasionally drifting towards her, wanting to speak but hesitating.

Su Jiameng earnestly said, ”Whatever is in your heart, say it straightforwardly! That’s the way a real man should be!”

Baby No. 2 struggled intensely for a while, eventually twisting his face slightly with a bit of shyness and asked an absurdly naive question, ”What does happy mean? Earlier, I heard my brother say that Mommy doesn’t cooperate with him, doesn’t care about him, and he is very unhappy...”

Faced with the child’s innocent questioning, Su Jiameng avoided the topic of ”making the other kid cry,” pondered for a moment, and gave a universal explanation, ”Happy means... just being happy.”

Unexpectedly, Baby No. 2 tilted his head trouble said to her, ”Then does caring mean... not being happy?”

Translating what his brother said before: Mommy doesn’t cooperate with him, doesn’t ”not happy” him, he is very unhappy?

Su Jiameng: ”...”

Waking up once more, Su Jiameng found she had two extremely awkward dreams in a row, immediately feeling she should visit some expert doctor in this field. She remembered a saying from her first life, that having too many dreams indicated a sign of physical weakness...

Recently, she had been eating as much as she wanted, how could she appear physically weak? And she kept dreaming of two kids... Could it be a reflection of her subconscious response to external things in the depths of her dreams? Could it be she subconsciously liked this type of child?

No way! She preferred those who are obedient and cute! Rather than being so... uh, actually, those two kids were also very cute. (To be continued.
