Cultivation is just so scientific!

Chapter 331: Chapter 212 Research

Li Shiming sat in a corner of the Dan Ding Hall, where he was making the ‘Shushan Hunyuan Pill.’ This was an elixir to aid cultivators in the early stage of Foundation Establishment, and it was an elixir recipe developed by a former alchemist of the Shushan Sect.

The advantage of the ‘Shushan Hunyuan Pill’ was that its ingredients were First and Second Grade Spirit Medicines, which the sect cultivated. Cultivators could exchange contribution points for the spiritual medicines needed in the recipe or directly exchange for the ‘Shushan Hunyuan Pill’ itself.

At this time, Master Ma didn’t pay attention to him, as he was busy with his own affairs.

Master Ma had already demonstrated the process of making the ‘Shushan Hunyuan Pill’ to Li Shiming once and had also shared the tricks of the trade, holding nothing back.

During Master Ma’s alchemy process, he even allowed Li Shiming to use his Spiritual Thought to explore.

This gave Li Shiming firsthand data on making Second Grade Spirit Pills. Although it wasn’t he who personally did it, he had experience in making First-grade Spirit Pills, which made it very easy for him to get started.

...
The temperature of the spirit carbon in the Three-Revolution Heavenly Treasure Furnace was under his control, precisely adjusted to what was required for alchemy.

The aroma of the medicine was already wafting out from the Three-Revolution Heavenly Treasure Furnace. Master Ma glanced over, a slight smile curling at the corner of his mouth, seemingly in a very good mood.

Li Shiming’s fingers flicked lightly, as he used the Seven Finger Refining Pill Technique. After seven gestures, seven Spirit Pills flew out of the Three-Revolution Heavenly Treasure Furnace and into a jade bottle.

He couldn’t help but shake his head. The furnace hadn’t yielded a full batch, and only two were high-grade ‘Shushan Hunyuan Pills’; the rest were intermediate, indicating that he still had issues with controlling the properties of the medicine.

He wasn’t satisfied with his alchemy this time. With IBM z15 collecting data and analyzing all problems during the alchemy process, he was essentially cheating. Such results could not be deemed satisfactory in his view.

He cleaned out the Three-Revolution Heavenly Treasure Furnace, which Master Ma had given to him as a gift. In one night, he had refined it to 30% effectiveness, just meeting the requirements for alchemy.

Li Shiming began making the ‘Shushan Hunyuan Pill’ again, given that Master Ma supplied the materials and there was no need to worry about that aspect.

The second time he made the ‘Shushan Hunyuan Pill,’ he produced ten pills, most of which were high-grade ‘Shushan Hunyuan Pills.’

By the fifth repetition of crafting the pill, he could control every step of making the ‘Shushan Hunyuan Pill,’ raising the quality of every pill to high-grade.

Master Ma stopped his work and looked at Li Shiming’s alchemy process in puzzlement.

Li Shiming’s ability to correct mistakes astonished him. If he made a mistake once, he would never make it again, a trait completely different from other alchemists.

What alchemists most often discuss is a certain feeling, and they pursue this feeling in alchemy, but Li Shiming seemed to have a standard in his mind, consistently aiming for that criterion.

“Master, I have learned how to make the ‘Shushan Hunyuan Pill’!” Li Shiming announced, holding up a jade bottle containing ten high-grade ‘Shushan Hunyuan Pills’ to Master Ma.

“Then keep making them. This counts as fulfilling a sect task, and it’s a good opportunity for you to accumulate some elixir pills for cultivation,” Master Ma instructed with a wave of his hand.

In reality, Master Ma was not calm inside. The standard Li Shiming had set for learning an elixir recipe was high-grade, and he wanted to see if Li Shiming would maintain such standards when making more difficult elixir pills.

Moreover, what Li Shiming currently lacked was the experience of making Second-grade pills, something that required a lot of practice to compensate for.

The ‘Shushan Hunyuan Pill’ was also an elixir Li Shiming needed for his cultivation. With his skill level, there was no waste at all, and each batch could leave two pills for his use while also supplementing his cultivation pills during the practice process.

Li Shiming obeyed Master Ma’s command and spent the following days alchemizing in the Dan Ding Hall.

The ‘Shushan Hunyuan Pills’ he made would be mixed with lower and intermediate ‘Shushan Hunyuan Pills’ for exchanges, so during these days, sect cultivators who exchanged for the ‘Shushan Hunyuan Pill’ found, to their surprise, high-grade ‘Shushan Hunyuan Pills’ occasionally appearing in the bottles.

Normally, it is intermediate alchemists who make the ‘Shushan Hunyuan Pill,’ and even those who regularly make this particular pill cannot guarantee high-grade results.

High-level alchemists and Alchemy Masters capable of making high-grade ‘Shushan Hunyuan Pills’ would not bother with such a basic-stage elixir.

Therefore, finding high-grade ‘Shushan Hunyuan Pills’ in the sect’s exchange is rare, of course, this is referring to regular cultivators. True Disciples can exchange for high-grade Spirit Pills, which is one of the benefits of being a True Disciple.

Three days later, while Li Shiming was making a batch of ‘Shushan Hunyuan Pills,’ a pill caught his attention as he tapped the Three-Revolution Heavenly Treasure Furnace to release the pills.

This pill exuded a purple aura, the hallmark of a top-grade Spirit Pill, which was very easy to recognize.

He had actually made a top-grade Spirit Pill, his first time producing a top-grade Spirit Pill.

Top-grade Spirit Pills were known as perfect elixirs. Not only were their effects especially good, but they also did not produce any drug resistance. One could keep taking them indefinitely, provided they had enough top-grade Spirit Pills without needing to switch to other elixirs due to drug resistance.

Of course, this was almost impossible, as top-grade Spirit Pills were serendipitous, not something even Alchemy Masters could guarantee. Luck was the deciding factor for the appearance of top-grade Spirit Pills.
