Cultivation is just so scientific!

Chapter 319: Chapter 206: Alchemy

“What good stuff?” Elder Sister Ye Jingxian was not the least bit courteous as she grabbed the Monkey Wine.

She opened the jug and sniffed it, and after feeling the effects of the Monkey Wine, her expression changed slightly.

“Shiming, do you have any other use for this Monkey Wine?” Elder Su asked with a smile.

“Master, the Body Refinement has been fully achieved and Monkey Wine is of no use to me anymore, so I offer it to you!” Li Shiming replied with a laugh, thinking his Master had designs on the Monkey Wine.

He naturally wouldn’t be stingy with the Monkey Wine. The help his Master had provided was far from small – the mere gift of Sword Holding Peak was a huge benefit, not to mention others.

...
“It’s not for me. Your Elder Sister is stuck at the Half-step Golden Core stage. She needs to strengthen her Taoist Body in various ways, and this Monkey Wine is useful for her!” Elder Su said with a shake of his head and a smile.

“If it’s useful for Elder Sister, take it!” Li Shiming heard that the Monkey Wine was useful for his Elder Sister to advance to the Golden Core stage and waved his hands in a dismissing gesture.

“Little brother, I won’t take your generosity for granted. If you need anything, just come to me!” Ye Jingxian packed away the Monkey Wine.

She did want to give him Spirit Stones, but she had heard from the Tianmu Trading Company that Li Shiming had ordered a large quantity of goods with a good amount of Spirit Stones, which indicated that Li Shiming was not short on Spirit Stones.

She didn’t know what Li Shiming was lacking; after all, he was a disciple of the same sect. She would fulfill his requests even if they were worth more than the wine, as long as he asked.

“Today is Shiming’s first visit, so I will talk about my Tao,” Elder Su said, looking at his five disciples and giving Li Shiming a meaningful glance.

Speaking on the Tao is the most important method of inheritance between master and disciple. The master’s understanding of the Tao is conveyed through a combination of language, breath, Spiritual Power Pattern, and Divine Thought, creating a special environment of the Tao.

Of course, Elder Su didn’t want his disciples to replicate his Tao, but instead, he wanted to demonstrate it for them as a reference.

In the cultivation realm, the Tao is the general principle; other Cultivation Techniques are founded on the basis of the Tao.

At least for Li Shiming, whose main practice was a Cultivation Technique, this was the theoretical foundation he was lacking.

An hour’s lecture on the Tao from a Golden Core cultivator deepened his understanding of the Cultivation Technique he practiced.

Just as Elder Su had said, working in isolation was not ideal. After Elder Su’s lecture, Li Shiming gained a deeper understanding of his cultivation practice.

After the lecture, Li Shiming posed his questions about his cultivation practice. Previously, he would analyze problems he encountered during cultivation with the IBMz15, choosing the option with the highest success rate.

Now with his Master, he could finally obtain the most accurate answers instead of fumbling on his own.

“Shiming, even though Sword Holding Peak has a considerable income from Spirit Stones, you should still consider earning contribution points in your spare time. With your Formation skills, it won’t be hard for you to undertake missions and earn them!” Elder Su advised when Li Shiming was leaving Heavenly Eye Peak.

Back at Sword Holding Peak, Li Shiming also reflected on his recent actions, realizing he had indeed become somewhat impatient because of the improvements brought by “Purple Qi Eastward.”

“Purple Qi Eastward” brought him a hundredfold surge of Violet Aura every day, which was actually of limited effect on his main practice, the “Nine Heavens Thunder Strike Technique.” Its biggest boost was to his foundation, reshaping his Taoist Body significantly.

The Foundation Establishment stage is a lengthy period of cultivation. Just moving from the early to the middle stage of Foundation Establishment could take around ten years even for someone with a Heavenly Spirit Root and without encountering any bottlenecks.

He indeed needed to organize his cultivation sensibly and set a feasible cultivation plan.

As for earning contribution points, he had his own ideas.

He went to an empty room inside his cave dwelling, which he planned to convert into an Alchemy Room.

He had inherited the knowledge of Artifact Refining as well as alchemy.

After some consideration, he decided to learn the Alchemy knowledge first.

Currently, within Shushan Sect, he almost didn’t need to worry about safety and could focus completely on improving his strength.

What he lacked were Elixir Pills. Elixir Pills for the early Foundation Establishment stage required contribution points to exchange in the sect, or he could refine them himself.

He was still confident in his learning ability and had more trust in Elixir Pills he refined himself.

He did have one top-grade magic tool pill furnace, which would suffice for a beginner, and he also had an abundant supply of First-grade Spiritual Medicine, enough to be extravagantly used.

This was also why he chose to learn the Alchemy inheritance first – he wouldn’t have to worry about materials in the beginning stages.

For his first alchemy attempt, he chose to use spirit charcoal as the fire source, which according to the alchemy inheritance provided by Elder Ma, was commonly used for refining low-level Elixir Pills.

The recipe he chose was for the High-level Grain Avoidance Pill, the simplest and lowest-level Elixir Recipe among all Elixir Pills.

The ingredients for the High-level Grain Avoidance Pill were just Spirit Rice, which didn’t even require a process to convert Spiritual Medicine; it could be refined simply by placing the Spirit Rice into the Pill Furnace.

Li Shiming took three pieces of spirit charcoal, which was made from spirit wood charcoal and emitted a faint Spiritual Energy when lit.

With the flames of the spirit charcoal rising, he invoked the “Golden Sun Fire Control Technique” and felt the flames enlarge or shrink under his control.

As the Pill Furnace heated up, he added the Spirit Rice, but before he could use the “Green Willow Sensing Spirit Technique” to sense the condition of the Spirit Rice inside the Pill Furnace, a burnt smell wafted out.

His face couldn’t help but freeze; he hadn’t expected his first attempt at alchemy to end before it even began.

The IBMz15 collected data from this first attempt at alchemy, recording the changes in the Alchemy process, the condition of the Spirit Rice, the temperature of the spirit charcoal, all thanks to the involvement of Spiritual Thought.
