Cultivation is just so scientific!

Chapter 316: Chapter 204: Settling Down_2

To tell the truth, when you’re with the eldest sister, you always forget that she’s a female cultivator.

“That’s good, they are all caretakers of the Spirit Plants, it’s a contract, just sign it and I’ll be on my way, I have other matters to attend to!” Ye Jingxian turned to leave.

“Eldest sister, I have another matter to ask about!” Li Shiming hurriedly called out, and seeing that Ye Jingxian stopped, he continued, “I want to purchase some materials, do you know if there are any trading companies within the sect that I could work with?”

“Of course you should go to our lineage’s trading companies for purchasing materials, let Ye Lingyun contact them for you!” the eldest sister said, pointing to one of the three attendants.

Ye Jingxian left briskly, leaving behind the three female cultivators and the contract.

Li Shiming looked at the three good-looking female cultivators with a headache, not expecting that the eldest sister and the two senior brothers had chosen women from their families to send over.

...
Their intentions were clear without saying, but unfortunately, he was not interested in that regard.

From the contract, he learned the names of the three attendants.

“Ye Lingyun, contact the trading company for me, I need to meet with them!” Li Shiming ordered Ye Lingyun.

“Yes, my lord!” Ye Lingyun bowed in response.

“The three cave dwellings in the mountainside will be yours, you have to take care of the Spirit Plants in the mountain, the mountain top I will seal with a Formation, do not disturb me unless necessary!” Li Shiming instructed the three attendants.

After these instructions, he did not bother with attendant affairs any further.

Since they had been chosen, he trusted that they indeed had the ability to take care of the Spirit Plants in the mountain.

As for the matter of treatment, it was still too early to talk about it, it would be addressed after some time passed.

Being able to cultivate within the sect was already the best treatment for the three attendants, as the Spiritual Energy and environment within the sect were not something they could enjoy in their families.

The representative from the trading company arrived quickly, and Li Shiming met with them at the top of the mountain.

“Zhuo Rui of Tianmu Trading Company pays respects to the Fifth Young Master!” Zhuo Rui, with his early-stage Foundation Establishment strength, bowed and saluted as soon as they met.

With this greeting, Li Shiming fully realized that Tianmu Trading Company was his master’s property.

Bearing the Tianmu name, who would dare to do so without his master’s permission, plus Zhuo Rui calling him the Fifth Young Master.

Li Shiming was quite reassured, he did not need Tianmu Trading Company to give him much of a discount, he just needed them to be able to purchase the materials he wanted, at least he would not have to worry about Spirit Stones for the short term.

“Mr. Zhuo, I have made a list, can you see if there will be any difficulties?” Li Shiming handed over the list he had prepared in advance.

Zhuo Rui took the list and was immediately stunned by it.

Not because there were precious Spiritual Objects on the list, but because the variety and quantity on the list were simply too large.

Especially the large number of mundane items, many rare ones, gathering such items would require a lot of manpower and resources, and would not earn many Spirit Stones.

If this had been any other cultivator in the sect, Zhuo Rui would have outright refused the order, but this person before him was a new disciple of Elder Su.

“Fifth Young Master, the mundane items will take some time to prepare, the other Spiritual Objects can be delivered very quickly!” Zhuo Rui replied with a smile.

“Take whatever Spirit Stones you need from this Beishu Trading Company storage token!” Li Shiming took out a storage token from the Beishu Trading Company and handed it to Zhuo Rui.

Zhuo Rui glanced at the Beishu Trading Company storage token, a look of surprise flashing in his eyes.

It contained 1.21 million low-grade spirit stones and even 60,000 mid-grade Spirit Stones, which would be expected if Li Shiming had been under Elder Su for decades.

But Li Shiming was said to be from the resource-poor Sky Sea Island, where did he get such wealth from?

However, with Li Shiming’s current status and identity, he no longer had to worry about any cultivator coveting his wealth.

The main reason was the support from Elder Su behind him; the consequences of offending Elder Su’s faction were far more intimidating to any cultivator than the temptation of such wealth.

“Fifth Young Master, why don’t we wait for the goods to arrive before settling the payment?” Zhuo Rui was certainly not going to collect any deposit at this time; knowing Li Shiming’s spending power, he was not worried that Li Shiming would use his status to delay payment.

Although the Tianmu Trading Company was backed by Elder Su, it was not owned solely by Elder Su; several other Golden Core Elders also held shares in it.

In the following days, Li Shiming was continuously strengthening the formation at Sword Holding Peak.

As a newcomer to the sect, he was originally required to complete some tasks, but because he was taken in by Elder Su, he was no longer obligated to any mandatory missions.

Of course, if Li Shiming wanted to earn the sect’s contribution points, he still needed to complete tasks to obtain them.

This gave him a large amount of free time and, after a month’s work, the formation at Sword Holding Peak was thoroughly revamped.

There was no significant difference in the defensive effects from before; his modifications were targeted. He enclosed the mountaintop, enhancing the isolation effect of Sword Holding Peak.

The formation of Sword Holding Peak served as the first layer of isolation, the mountaintop the second layer, and his cave dwelling the third layer, ensuring that it was impossible for any cultivator to probe into his secrets without triggering the formation.

Furthermore, based on his research on the spatial formation in the main hall of the cave dwelling, he constructed a separate space for himself.

This space, connected to the cave dwelling, cost nearly five hundred thousand spirit stones to build, with the majority of the expense going towards materials for the spatial formation.

Deeper into the mountain belly from the cave dwelling, he created an enormous space expanded by the spatial formation.

The establishment of this space was to reconstruct the factory.

All the heavy-duty equipment he had built before was now taken out and installed in this new space, becoming his new research and manufacturing facility.

After reorganizing the research and manufacturing facility, the first task was to make Frenel reflection mirrors.

The thirty-fifth day after joining the sect was an important one.

At the mountaintop of Sword Holding Peak, one thousand five hundred improved Frenel reflection mirrors were distributed, covering all available space.

Each of these Frenel reflection mirrors had an omnidirectional rotating base connected to it, which could be controlled by an electric motor to adjust the orientation.

All Frenel reflection mirrors were connected to a data-processing device by data cables; this device held a month’s worth of analyzed data regarding the time and position of sunrise each day.

Moreover, these data would continue to accumulate. Through this analysis, the time and position of the next day’s sunrise could be determined.

When Li Shiming obtained the “Purple Qi Eastward” cultivation technique, he had this idea and conducted small-scale experiments that were successful.

Today, he planned to maximize the results of the experiment. If it weren’t for the limited space on the mountaintop, he would have built even more Frenel reflection mirrors.

The mountaintop of Sword Holding Peak was sealed by a formation, making it impossible for the three attendants in the mountain or the cultivators outside to see what was happening on the mountaintop.

Li Shiming sat at the highest point of the mountaintop, facing directly east with his eyes closed; he could sense the state of the distant sun without having to open his eyes.

All of the Frenel reflection mirrors, under the control of the data-processing device, began to adjust the angle of the mirrors.

This program was based on existing research from the IBM z15 database; solar power stations need to face the sun at all times, which necessitated a sun orientation management and analysis program.

Li Shiming’s task was to localize this program, filling the analysis management program with a month’s worth of local sun data and generating a sun tracking program for this world.

Of course, his requirement was just the precise orientation of the rising sun at dawn, and he also relied on previously collected data, even though it was from Sky Sea Island, it still had referential value.

Before the start, he was somewhat anxious; this program hadn’t been tested in practice, only simulated internally in the IBM z15.
