My Youth Began With Him

Su Yu wanted to talk to Qin Chu and help him solve the problem with Huo Mian.

He thought Qin Chu would agree since they were friends, but he was mistaken.

Qin Chu sounded very cold. “I don’t have time tonight. Maybe another day.”

Su Yu knew Qin Chu didn’t want to talk to him, or he’d make time for him.

From Qin Chu’s evasive attitude, Su Yu realized the problem between Qin Chu and Huo Mian was serious.

Remembering Huo Mian’s mention of divorce and her disappointment in Qin Chu, Su Yu felt very guilty.

He had been sincere when he told Huo Mian that he wished he had taken the role of Huo Siqian and died in the explosion. It would mean the end of his suffering.

Being alive was more difficult than death…

Su Yu felt depressed after Qin Chu refused to see him. He looked distracted the whole afternoon, even when he was in a meeting.

In the headquarters of GK Group.

After the high-level executive meeting, Qin Chu said to Bella and Zhixin, “You two come to my office.”

“Okay, President Qin.”

Zhixin had just come back from a business trip and had only seen Huo Mian once.

He was about to report his work on a cooperation project, but when they entered Qin Chu’s office, they found he looked different today.

“Sit down,” Qin Chu said, pointing at the sofa.

Bella and Zhixin took their seats and exchanged a look, knowing their brother-in-law was in a bad mood.

“Have you two seen Mian?”

“Yeah. My sister’s low in spirits probably because of the baby…” Zhixin answered without thinking.

Bella nudged his arm to remind him not to mention the baby before Qin Chu.

“It’s fine. Continue.”

Seeing their hesitation, Qin Chu gestured to them to go on.

“Probably because of the baby, my sister is moody. I didn’t dare to talk too much with her, afraid she’d feel worse.”

Zhixin lowered his head, looking a bit guilty.

His sister was good to him and solved every problem for him with money or efforts, but when she was in trouble, he couldn’t find a way to help her. He felt helpless.

“Bella, how about you?”

Qin Chu knew Bella had a higher IQ than Zhixin, which was one of the reasons Huo Mian liked her.

“I think Sister Mian seems to have something on her mind but doesn’t want to share it with us. President Qin, I hope you can spend more time with her and help her relieve all the burden from her mind. If she keeps it inside for a long time, she’ll sink into depression.”

“Bella, do you feel that there are any changes in Mian after she returned?” Qin Chu asked suddenly.

Bella thought for a while and answered slowly, “I can’t say anything specific… But her temperament seems a bit different, probably because of the blow she received lately.”

Bella was right. One could mimic another’s voice, expressions, but not temperament, which was a spiritual thing and couldn’t be copied.

Hearing her words, Qin Chu’s eyes turned unreadable…

“Brother-in-law, is something wrong with my sister?”

“No. It’s just a casual question. You can go now.”

“Okay.”

As Bella followed Zhixin out, she seemed to remember something; she looked back and said, “Oh, President Qin, there’s another thing.”
