My Youth Began With Him

“You don’t have money? Simple, according to our rules, if you want to leave without paying, we’ll just cut off one of your hands. However, you’re very handsome, and I feel bad doing that to you. So, I’ll consider letting you off the hook if you make me happy tonight. Sleep with me.”

“Do you know what you’re saying?” Qiao Fei asked calmly.

“Young man, let me tell you the truth. In addition to the thirty-or-so people in here, there’s more outside waiting for you. Either you pay the bill or go home with me. Those are your only options.”

At first, Qiao Fei thought that this woman was just out for some money. To his disgust, however, she wanted more, and it was obvious that she was a part of some local gang and had some power.

“Okay then, if this is what you want, then there’s nothing else I can say.”

“Pay up then, little boy. You look like you have the cash.” The woman was positive that Qiao Fei, like most of the young male tourists, had rich parents and would pay anything to cause a scene.

None of Qiao Fei’s men moved; they were waiting for him to give them orders.

Qiao Fei reached into his coat pocket, and just as everyone thought he was getting his wallet, Qiao Fei whipped out a handgun and blasted a hole in the woman’s head.

He was a good shot; as the bullet pierced through the woman’s head, blood and brains spurted out like a broken pipe, spraying the people around her.

The woman’s lackies stood frozen to their spots; they’d never seen anything like this, their knives and guns are all just for show!

Before they could come back to reality, Qiao Fei began shooting at the woman’s lackies. At the sight of this, Qiao Fei’s men began to shoot at their ‘captors’ as well.

Qiao Fei and his people caused quite a commotion; more than a hundred policemen came to the scene. However, by the time they had arrived, Qiao Fei had already disappeared.

It wasn’t until Qin Chu saw the news that evening did he realize what had happened.

“Breaking news, a robbery gone bad happened at a bar on Chuntao Road. The burglar shot more than thirty people after his failed robbery attempt. More than twenty people have been reported to be dead, with another 12 severely injured. This mass murder is now on file with the Municipal Bureau, and we urge all witnesses to provide testimonies at the bureau for an award.”

Qin Chu was almost sure that at this point in time, only Qiao Fei was capable of doing something like this.

“Honey, where’s Yan?” Huo Mian, who was still resting in bed, suddenly asked.

“Yan…”

“Just tell me, lay all the bad news on me at once. I can’t take one blow after another.”

“Lu Yan’s missing.”

“She’s missing? How is that possible? I thought she was with you the entire time?”

Then, Qin Chu told Huo Mian what happened in a nutshell, and by the time he was done, she was bathed in tears again.

All Qin Chu could do was quietly hand her tissues.

– The next morning –

Qin Chu, Huo Mian, Su Yu, and Ms. Su left Yunnan in a private plane the military had provided them with.

On board the plane, Huo Mian asked Qin Chu, “Honey, our baby…”

“He’s been buried. Don’t worry, when the time comes I’ll have him moved back home with us.”

Huo Mian nodded tearily. She reached out and placed an icy hand on Qin Chu’s back. “Honey… we’ll have another baby, right?”
