My Youth Began With Him

Hearing Su Yu’s words, they all fell silent, creepily silent.

Standing behind Su Yu, Mrs. Su lowered her head and began to weep.

Whenever Mian’s baby was mentioned, she and Su Yu would feel wrenching pain inside.

Su Yu felt worse, burdened with guilt.

“Mr. Su… Don’t mess with us… We don’t like this joke.”

Holding Qin Ning in his arms, Tang Chuan prayed that it was Su Yu and Huo Mian’s prank on them.

“I’d never joke about something like this. Mian lost her baby when she tried to rescue me, so I feel extremely bad about it. I feel guilty for her and Qin Chu… I’m still trying to process it. I’m sorry, my friends, but I’m not in the mood to celebrate. Please go home; I want to be alone.”

Su Yu grabbed his jacket and went upstairs.

His friends exchanged a look and didn’t know what to say.

“Aunt, is it true? I just can’t believe it…”

Wei Liao, a man of few words, glanced at Mrs. Su.

Mrs. Su covered her mouth and nodded with tears in her eyes.

Qin Ning burst into tears and ran out of the house…

“Ning.”

Worriedly, Tang Chuan ran after her.

Understanding the situation, the others looked dispirited and left one by one.

Mrs. Su instructed An to take care of Su Yu before she left.

Su Yu lay in his bed for the whole night and refused to have supper. An didn’t dare to disturb him. Placing his cellphone on the bedside table quietly, An closed the door and left.

At 9 PM, Han Yueyao sent him a WeChat message.

After An told her that Su Yu had returned, she wanted to come and see Su Yu immediately, but she was now rehearsing out of the city.

Tomorrow was the final match, which was extremely important to her.

She sent Su Yu a WeChat message during the break of the rehearsal.

Hearing the beep from his WeChat, Su Yu picked up his cellphone.

Han Yueyao: “President Su, you’re back?”

Su Yu glanced at it indifferently and didn’t reply.

Drenched in sweat, Han Yueyao waited for a long time and didn’t receive Su Yu’s reply. She felt disappointed.

At this moment, someone handed her a bottle of water.

Without looking up, she took it and said, “Thank you.”

After she unscrewed the cap and took a mouthful of water, she turned her head and found it was Yuan Bo.

“It’s you.”

“What? You’re disappointed to see me?”

“No.”

“What are you thinking about? You look disappointed.”

“Tsk. Girl, you always look so mysterious. You don’t mingle with people and don’t have friends. Why did you enter show business?” Yuan Bo looked at her as if she was a weirdo.

“I want to make money to support my family.”

“Pu… That’s the reason you entered show business?” Yuan Bo almost spewed out the water he had just drunk.

“Yeah. In show business, I can make money fast; I can make lots of money.” She took another gulp of water.

“Okay. You win.”

Yuan Bo found Han Yueyao very interesting; she was not pretentious, and most importantly she never refrained from speaking her mind. She’d roast him if she heard him say something she didn’t like.

“About tomorrow’s final contest, do you have confidence to win?” Yuan Bo asked her.

“No.”

“Damn… I won’t forgive you if you drag us down.” Yuan Bo joked.

Han Yueyao smiled, feeling abashed.

“By the way, Yao, will your boss come to the venue and root for you tomorrow? It’s an important contest for you.” Hearing Yuan Bo mention Su Yu, Han Yueyao’s eyes dimmed a bit.
